Received a call this afternoon.  Caller ID showed "Better Homes Pro".  No message left.

Just another scum sucking scammer.  I blocked the number and reported it to the "Do Not Call Registry" and the Attorney General.  Of course it won't do any good, but it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Sadly, there are abuses even in the "charity business"

Gary, one would hope that a TX state trooper would not be "creative" in establishing charges on any person. That would be wrong, illegal and a gross abuse of power. I think you meant to say he is well versed in the laws and would go by the book, in which there is a law to deal with such things.

This isn't a scam. They sell products for disabled vets and blind individuals. They are legit actually.

Received call from this number. Caller id says same Better Home Products. Did not answer...THIS TIME...will next. Thanks for info.

This person called today 3-13-14 at 5:16 p.m. EST, identified himself as Sal from Better Home Products.  I asked him if I talked to him before, since I had recently attended a home show, but I didn't give out my number.  He said they are trying to promote themselves and work instead of being on welfare, etc.  I told him he shouldn't be calling me and I'm on a no call list.  He hung up right away!!  (I know he was going to ask for money)

CALLED THE NUMBER ABOVE 713-554-3011 WOMAN SAID SHE WILL REMOVE MY NUMBER.  HOW DID SHE GET IT TO BEGIN WITH. NEVER DENIED THE 713-554-0482 THAT WHEN YOU CALL BACK SAYS (YOU HAVE CONFIRMED YOUR NUMBER)!!! I too received a phone call from this number, some lady said my name, I replied yes can I help you, then she just hung up, and because I have Magic Jack Plus, I was not allowed to call the number back unless I purchased minutes for conference call numbers. Well, I wasn't about to do that. I knew this number had to be some telemarketer or a related kind of company. So, I used my cell phone, I than received a recording that said, "You have successfully completed a test call to Pac West Telecomm". And, here is what I found on them.

Pac-West Telecomm, Inc. is a privately owned wholesale telecommunications carrier headquartered in Oakland, California, United States. Founded in 1980, the company is one of the few wholesale-focused competitive local exchange carriers (CLEC) in the United States[citation needed] and provides origination services to thirty one states, with service areas on the West coast, Texas, and in the Northeast.

On March 28, 2013, Pac-West submitted its filing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Western District of Texas. Received a call from this number selling household products supposedly by disabled people.  Seems they have a different story every day from reading the following posts.

Answering machine set at 6 rings. They only let it ring 3 to 4 times and hang up.
Had 2 calls in the last 2 days. If they got busted, looks like they got out of jail and
are back at it again.

We just got a call from 713-554-0482 and Caller ID shows up "Better Home Products." Every time they call my house.. I pick up but no one answers. I've tried calling the number back but it goes silent and hangs up on me.

I did call  713-524-3011 (listed in a post above) and a nice lady picked up. She asked my number and my last name... she removed my number and apologize for any inconvenience.

Caller ID showed "Better Home Pro".  No message left.

713.554.0482 - I think this is a scam - I did not give any information and tried to call back but got this message:  "YOU GAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED A CALL TO PACWEST TELECOM - TWT121"  I don't know what this means but I think it definitely needs to be investigated.  I would like to unsubscribe if this is a telemarketer.

Neither 713 nor 731 is a ZIP CODE, nitwit!  They're both area codes.  ZIP CODES come from the Post Office.

Got a call from the Better Home Product at 713-554-0482 today.  Read a post on this site that said if you call 713-524-3011 they will take your name of their list.  Called about 2 minutes ago, go a nice lady on the phone who said she would remove my phone number from the list.

multiple times a day, sometimes multiple days in a row.
Caller may be Better Home Products .... my caller id chopped it off

answered on 3rd ring...and caller hung up w/o saying anything.  My opinion is whoever this really is, is only harvesting numbers.
Interesting twist to comments already posted...after checking area code (to avoid phone charges)...called number back, got a loud tone (not fast busy or normal ring) ... then recorded voice said: "You have successfully completed a call to Pac West Telecom" .... sure hope that doesn't mean someone just stole my number to spoof it.

"Frank", with an Indian accent, was offering Home Security products similar to the life alert pendant system advertised on TV.

He pitched the product and stayed on script, but couldn't say what the monthly monitoring costs and associated fees would be - but the "system" was 'free'....

Really pushed to get debit/credit card or checking account info "so they can RUSH your system right over to you!!!!!"

Stinks like a dead skunk in the Texas sun.....but it smells like SCAM, not skunk.

Also, on callback the number goes to a recorded message about PacWest communications.

Received a call from this number about 8 PM 11/7/12. You could hear static for about 5-10 sec. and then it disconnected.  I called the number back and there was a high tone sound for a few seconds and then this recording 'You have successfully completed a test call to Pac West   Telecomm...PWT-121'.  The caller ID said Better Home Pro.  Another writer mentioned the DNC list, it really is a waste of money.  Even if you file a complaint it is a waste of time.

Modify my post above.  After addition research I'm not convinced that Aeneas Communications in Humbolt, TN is involved in this as a carrier.  Better Home Products operates out of Texas.  The Texas zip is 713 but the Humbolt, TN zip is 731.  Pac-West, Inc out of CA is somehow involved because that's who received my return call to Better Home Pro.

The carrier of the number is Aeneas Communications located in Jackson, TN. The area code for the 713-554-0482 number is for Humbolt, TN, just outside of Jackson. Beware of these calls. Although I didn't speak to anyone (they didn't answer), I'd be very suspicious of anyone that operated this way. I'll file complaints with FTC, FCC, and state of tn attorney general if they call back. Don't expect anything to come from the complaints but at least there's a record.  Maybe someday!
