Usually he claims to be an IRS agent.   Or he claims to be a member of some law firm and he has a "warrant" out for your arrest.   Basically your  run-of-the-mill Indian scammer.  

Now he claims to represent "Financial Crimes Advocates"   which is a pretty crazy name.    But common among Indians who don't speak English all that well.

Received a call from 713-568-6466 this afternoon. They left a message on my answering machine, my father was home and spoke with Ryan Anderson and said that he was from the FCA and mentioned someone had written a bad check to a pay day loan company. Definitely looks like a scam....

Looks like the same game. Calling about check fraud & possible identity left! Not sure where my cell number was obtained. I'm sure illegally. At any rate I'm not buying his bull carp.

Keep getting calls from this number stating they have a case against me for a Pay Day Loan that was unpaid.  Sent them a fax of a letter I received saying this account was paid in full and they told me it had the wrong account number on it so I must have had two loans.  I informed them I did not.  No I am getting calls telling me to call another number and contact a Ryan Anderson.  I told him to do what he had to do because to my knowledge, this was paid in 2011 and I was not going to agree to pay it again.

Called & left VMX.  Said they were looking for someone (gave name) that might be related to me and could I have them call back.  Left 800# for return call.  My ex has several alias', so I looked on the county judicial site to see if there was anything pending for this person and *nothing*.  Deleted VMX and will not be calling them back.  Also, blocked # from my phone.

Male caller from Texas, said he was calling and investigating check fraud...asking for a person with the same family name.
It really angers me that these people just call any random number harassing people without just cause.

I got the same call frm this number stated he was a crime investigator from a company called financial crime advocates...he said his was Ryan Anderson. Also said if I didn't pay I would be going to court for check fraud...

Male caller from Houston, Texas stated he was trying to resolve a bad check complaint for the Waterford, NY police department.  Claimed to be looking for someone with the same last name as me.
