I have filed a complaint with the state of Texas about NCA and there harasment tactics. They threatened to have me jailed etc .. But wised up once I had my friend who is an attorney speak to them.   I found out they do this with many people and scare them into paying them any sort of amount. BEAWARE of NCA

harrassing phone calls threating suit

I recieved a couple of calls from this number. One at work and one on my cell. No message was left. I called back and got a message but not a person.

Of course not.  Debt is civil, not criminal, so no one is arrested or jailed for defaulting on a debt!  It is illegal to threaten people to intimidate them into paying an alleged debt.  You should NEVER pay any caller unless they MAIL a debt validation letter showing that (1) you owe a debt and that (2) they have the legal right to collect said debt.  Refusal to mail this documentation within five days of the first call is yet another violation of federal law.

Did they take u to jail

They called her because they are low-life bottom feeders who try to "embarrass" people into paying debts they don't own.  Alternately, they might have though they could frighten her and get her to pay on your behalf.  If there is any chance they gave information such as a company name and address and you would be kind enough to post it up here, there are some regulars who might be able to dig up some information on them to share with others.  Thanks!

They called my baby momma's cell phone asking for me, the lady wouldn't tell her why or anything. Why would these people even call her if they never call me, plus i have no debt at all. Just a bunch of stupid a** people bothering people to get paid.

SAID THEY HAVE 3 COMPANIES UNDER THIS LISTING (NATIONAL CREDIT ADJUSTERS,ETC..).
I ASKED HOW THE GOT MY NUMBER,BUT THEY WANTED TO KNOW IF I WAS DENNIS CRUMP.
I ASKED AGAIN,AND THE LADY SAID SAID SHE HAD MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO.

Called my cell about a debt to collect and the funny thing, it wasn't even mine!

got a call from this number and i answered, says please hold for the next available agent, dont have the time to be put on hold, i work for a living and dont get paid for answering my cell during work, but i have 2 sick parents and i thought maybe i was getting a call from a nurse

Called my cell phone no message was left. Then they called my work phone a couple of mins later...still no message was left.

Got a call but tyhey hang up. I called back and was put on hold by a robot answering machine

I just got a call from 713-588-0918 and it was a hang up call.

Who owns this number?

NCA, National Credit Adjusters, also calling from 713-588-0953. They bought a bad debt from 1995 that contained my phone number. Of course, they promised never to call again.
