I know the family that owns this business and this is a TOTAL SCAM!!!   If you think that the clothes you are donating will end up on the back of a diabled veteran you are wrong!!   Only a fraction of a fraction ends up with a charity.   There are three companies involved, two are owned by Richard Ferrer-Westrop.   He finds a charity willing to take some "no questions asked" money in exchange for the use of their name, paralyized veterns, lukemikia society, it varies from city to city.    THIS IS HOW THEY GET AWAY WITH SAYING 100% GOES TO CHARITY!!! The Merchandise Pick-Up Service calls representing the charity and ask that you leave your old clothes in a bag by your front door.    The clothes are then collected in big trucks and while they are on the  truck they are "property of the charity" even though the charity never sees them.    The Pick-Up service then wholesales the clothes to the Thrift shop in this manner.   They unload the bags of clothes onto these giant  4'x6'x8' 3 sided carts, and for every cart filled to the top the pick up service gives the charity 100% of $50.   Yes, Fifty Bucks for thousands of dollars worth of clothes that are sold in thrift stores also owned by Richard Westrop and his family of scammers.   He has dozens of stores in citys all over, but it all works the same way and he makes millions every year as a beggar.   CALL HIM AT HIS MANSION IN NATCHITOCHES, LA 318-352-7537 AND SEE HOW HE LIKES IT!!!!!

I used to be very close to the Richard Westrop family.   It is a total scam, I know 100%.   They claim that 100% of the proceeds go to charity, but this is a total lie!!    Non-profit my A@@, they make millions!!!!  His Mansion is in Natchitoches, LA and his home phone number is 318-352-7537.    Call him and bug him at home, I am sure he will appreciate it.  

I agree.  All you have to do is tell them you don't have anything and they stop calling... Then block the number if you don't want to deal with them again.. They have always picked up my donations as promised.  I would never give them fragile, valuable, or very expensive items.

I hate it when they call my cell phone (where every call I receive costs me) and then there is nobody there when I say "Hello".  What I end up doing is adding those bogus callers to my directory with a distinctive "don't answer this call" ringtone, so I will never answer their calls again.

I wish that our government would come down HARD on these telemarketing/telescammers/abusers.

Random annoying calls! This is a for profit organization.. don't donate to them. Call their human number (713)-669-5501 and tell them to stop spamming. Waking up my kids in the middle of the night, gosh.

If you have Comcast phone service, you can dial *60 after a call and have the number blocked.

BS...I totally blame the Texas Paralyzed Veterans. They know exactly what the "2nd party" is doing and THEY are the ones behind all these calls.

This is the people from HAP, they collect clothing for poor kids. Yes it is the "Achievement Place" someone mentions above, not scammers. We donated two big bags of old school uniforms to their organization recently, not old clothes some of these the kids just got too big too quick for them, so some barely used school uniforms. The people called several times to make sure we put the donations on front porch and marked them clearly HAP. We did, they came by in a HAP truck, but U-haul looking thing, but clearly marked professional looking truck, picked up clothes, left a note on front for tax credit in case we decided to claim those for tax purposes. It's a real organization, just wished they would not call weekly, as we only have X amount of clothes to give them a year and I mentioned that to someone I talked to, who was courteous on the phone, we only donate 1 to 2 times a YEAR.

I do not know if this number belonged to another organization before it was HAP however, but talk to them and simply tell them you have nothing to donate and they'll leave you alone.

713-696-5501 calls me several times a day, at all hours.  I have requested numerous times to stop calling me and they persist.  

I have sent emails via www.clothingpickuptexas.com and requested them to stop calling me.  They continue harrassing me.

I would not donate to them if they were the only clothing pick up charity on the planet.

if they keep calling you day and night call your local ploice deparment and tell you want to report harrissing  phone call from this number tell them you have allready told them to stop calling once and they have not, ask what you and they can do to make them stop

This isn't even a charitable organization.  It is a for profit business, selling out of their own thrift stores.

They were the "Texas Paralyzed Vets" or something, calling for donations of clothing and household items. I set up a bag for them that they didn't collect, so now I always just tell them that I don't have anything to donate, and just drop it off at Goodwill on my own time instead.

This is a FOR PROFIT BUSINESS.  They do sell your donations to charity, but for a profit.

My co-workers and I have read the comments several times, and I guess I'm the only one with enough nerves to approach...

I work for this company. I can't deny it. The pay is $7.25/hr and we get one 5 minute break. On a lucky week we get 25 hours. If there were another way for me to pay my bills and maintain my morals I would. Because as we all know the jobs are plentiful... (eyeroll).

I'm paying back various student loans, dealing with people yelling at me over the phone, then coming home to overdue bills. What a wonderful world I live in. Overeducated for Mickey D's, Undereducated for anything else.

Pity party concluded, I HATE the measures my jobs takes for their precious clothing donations. We sit in cubicles and we're not allowed to walk around the whole shift. Us employees mean less to them than you do honestly. Not to mention the commute, oh GOD what a commute it is.

Sometimes I sit at the little desk listening to elderly people cry for us to stop calling them 10 times in a row, and all they allow us to say is "It will be taken care of." Parents tell us their kids are asleep yet we call.

This "job" is making me hate myself and planing ways to commit a painless suicide. I deserve all the heartache I get for not finishing college, and reducing myself to such a vile job, that is obviously a shell of its former self. I'd take ANY job in the world but this one.

BTW we do pick up clothing and leave tax recipets, that's only honest thing at 4330 Fulton St besides me.

Thank you so much for the human line!  I called 713-696-5501 and they SAY they are coming out now!  I too was going to donate to the Paralyzed VA.  I did not realize that it was a "service" that picked up their stuff.  Now I'm a little hesitant that the items are not going to where they are supposed to be going!  We need Dolchifino in on this!  :)

I keep getting phone calls from this number at all hours.  There is no name on the caller ID.  I have phoned the number back, a lady answers, and then she hangs up on me.  I do not get a recording.  I am tired of these phone calls and I want my name off of the list.  I think I am going to phone the Salvation Army because I like the way that they operated.  I have never felt annoyed or cheated by them and they do a lot of good.

they don't want clothing, they want money, it's not even a reputeable charity, they continually harass you if you tell them to stop calling, i have received over 200 calls from them this week alone! and because they call themselves a charity/non-profit the no-call list doesn't apply! soon as i find the officers' names of this 'charity corporation' i am suing over harassment.

Calls appear as "Unknown Name", so I don't answer it, but they don't leave a message, either.
