Just got a call from this number, Ive called 911 also today. The person never spoke. I called several times, they answered with no sound. Weird.

Got 4 calls from this number, something like 15 minutes apart. Did not leave a msg, have no idea who would be calling me from City of Houston. After visiting this site, that makes me suspicious. I'm glad no one here answered these calls. I'm going to look up who I should call about this to make City of Houston aware of it, just in case these are scammers fishing for personal information.

Got a call from two strange numbers back to back within seconds. I declined both and no messages were left. I have not filed any reports or called 911 so not sure why I would receive this call if it really is HPD.

I got my truck stolen today and after i called 911 to file a report minutes later that number called me sayng they were houston police dep. Telling me they found my truck but they were going to call me back ..theh never did so i called them.  But after the first ring the phone call would just go dead.

This is the main trunk line number coming out of the City of Houston Emergency Center.  When you call 911 inside the City of Houston, your call is answered here.  It may be a police officer, fire fighter or civilian call taker calling you back for more information or to confirm your request for emergency services.

I received a call from this number 713-884-1183 and 713-884-3997. The person called three times. When I finally answer, the caller said that his name is officer Lacey from Houston police department. That someone reported an assult and gave my number and he was asking for my address. when I refused to give my address, the caller hanged up. Am just wondering how he got my number, and whether if it was actual police call or prank call.

Just filed hit and run off 290 with hpd. Within 10 minutes of officer leaving i see missed call call from this numer. Definitely some bottom feeder fishing for information.  Atleast people who do armed robberies have enough balls to know they may have a run for their money. I wish these a** clowns would.

I got a call from this number about 2 hours after I had called 911.  Like others on here, nobody answers when I called the number back

AFTER CALLING 911 THIS MORNING TO ELT THEM KNOW I SAW AN ACCIDENT I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER TOO... WEIRD

It's HPD calling for further info on any matter you may have reported such as to 311.

He or she called at 2 am. I picked up but no one answered me.

This is a number used by the Houston Police Dept to call back for further info on an incident that you have reported or witnessed.

Called @ 4:06am on 05/23/2008. No message, tried to call back and got no response.

This number isbeing used by a fraudulent eBay member when he wants to scam sellers to leave negative feedback.  he actually pays to ship items (vey inexpensive ones) to bogus addresses, then leaves negative feedback before the item is returned to the sender as undeliverable. The email address he uses for the ebay account is actually registered in another state. He is currently under investigation by eBay's Trust and Safety dept. (as if that will do any good!) He has also been reported to the Houston Police Department for using their number fraudently.

I received a call from this number after I called 911 to report being followed and harassed by a guy driving
a white impala.  After speaking to the 911 responder, she told me the Houston Police Department was in route.

Then about 3 minutes later, I received a call from this number.  The female claimed to be with the Houston Police Department.  When asked her name, she didn't say officer Laura.  She said only Laura.  This leads me to believe she may be someone other than someone working for HPD.

Why not question HPD about it?

FYI:  Anyone can have another number to show up on the destination end of the call.

Received call from this number. No one answered. No message left. Any information would be helpful to find out who called. I phoned the number from the caller Id, no one answered.

I just got the call too. Said it was City of Houston Police Department and they had received a call from us to 911. Said his name was Officer Cervantes. We don't even use that phone very often, but they said it was from my phone and then told me my address (which they confirmed) came up in their system. NO IDEA HOW this happened... but I guess it did.

Got a call from this number at 1:22 AM. Caller ID says 'City of Houston'. Called the number back but there was no answer.

This number has been used by a member of ebay to harrass members of the eBay community.  The member ID is "hotstoveleague" and she is using this telephone  number as their contact number on file. She lists her information as B. Ford, and give the address of the CLAREWOOD HOUSE RETIREMENT COMMUNITY in Houston Texas. She is a VERY nasty and vindictive person who should be caught for harassment.

I received a call from this number Freiday evening and I tried and called it back and it just rings.

I actually picked up and then the other end hung up.  I tried to call back and it just rang endlessly.  I've had this phone number for about a week and have not bared witness to any accidents.  Who the heck is this calling?

This is a number that was used by the Houston Police Dept to call back from when you have made a report of an incident.  They were probably looking for further information

caller ID for this number said "City of Houston" - no message left and this was literally a brand new phone # for only 1 day...
