Well, I backed out! After reading some more on the Internet the. Whole thing reeked of scam.  Even the part with the mortgage company.  There was almost the same kind of scam operating out of Tennessee , except they were selling vs. renting.  If Ivan find the web page again I'll post  a link on here.

Take care and good luck

Well, I received the contract as well and it seemed a bit weird, esp. the part in section 8 that says the seller still has to pay the 8% commission even if the sale doesn't go through.  They were going to call me back to go over any questions I had about the contract. When they did, I asked if he could call me back in a few hours as I had an appt. but he never did. The whole thing seemed pretty much a scam.  Why did they say you needed to deposit 5 yrs of fees?  Makes no sense, does it.  Plus, the amount per week they were willing to pay was about twice the usual amount  a week goes for.  Let me know more as things unfold....Thanks

Well I signed the proposal sheet and faxed it back to them.  A day later they told me they had a renter and that they would pay for my maintenance fees if I would put the same amount in, supposedly for tax reasons.....,hmmmm.  Today I received an email with the actual contract they want me to sign, they also told me the the buyer has already put the rental money and maintenance fee into an escrow account.  All I have to do now is initial and sign the contract and deposit 5 yrs of maintenance fees in to the escrow account then the money he put in is mine , I guess.  Decision time!!!!  Going to look into the escrow company a bit more, they are out of Denver , co   Manhattan title and escrow services. I will let you know what I decide.  Do you have any suggestions, recommendations, or comments feel free to share.
Take care,
Matt

Have you signed/initialed any contracts yet?  They sent me a contract and told me to write down any questions and they would go over it with me.  They called once but I asked if they could call at a more convenient time and I haven't heard back.  The contract had a few bits of odd verbiage but I don't know what to think.  Probably a scam...

Recieved a call from them asking to rent my Mayan palace.  They wanted a minimum of 5 weeks   They told me their would charge 8% of whatever they rented it for and no upfront fees.  Hmmmmm I will continue to update this as I'll play along for now.

Got call on 10/17/2011. No one spoke and after asking repeatedly who was calling, they hung up on me.
