fax connected to line is great, most robo-calls are from machines that recognize a fax, and the automatically delete the called number from the electronic database.
on the other hand, i like to answer the call, let them talk a while, then tell them my spouse has something for me to do, would they please give me an 800 number to call them back. then i call them back a dozen times at their 800 number.
always try to get that 800 number, so you can call them and bother them on their dime.
they pass my phone number around to other scammers...I never answer
no message is ever left on ans mac hine
Tele marketing call. They hang-up if we change the tone.
This number keeps calling. Most times there is no one there. It comes up as UNIDENTIFIED on the called ID.
Just received another call from this # time to report this
Dorothy S. Stewart
This number calls repeatedly. Pressing 5 to remove yourself from the list doesn't work. I have tried calling the number, but a phone message comes on: "Due to network difficulties, your call could not be completed." No matter when I call, that message is repeated. How do I get off this list? I am on a no-call list. That's a joke.
That's a great idea, Thanks!
So sick of these scum bags,
do notttttt calllll us
Here's a thought for all us bothered by this .....next time press # sign and scream into the phone "THIS IS
THE NUMBER OFFICER ,,,THIS IS IT" and then hang up.
I attached a fax to my home phone line. It rings 3-4 times before the fax connects giving me plenty of time to see if I want to answer the phone. If not, the fax connects. It only takes a little while before they stop calling - at least with that number. They try again and again with different numbers which is why blocking their number is a waste of time. I also turn the ringer way down on the phone when I really don't want to hear it ring.
When they call my cell phone, I add them to a contact list called "Telemarketer" That way if they call more than once it shows up as a Telemarketer and I just turn off the sound until the ringing stops. My life is way too important to let them get my goat.

These people (?) are setting new records for robo-calling. I get an average of 6 calls per day from them. It's 3 calls in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. The series of 3 are, for the most part, back-to-back calls. I have never answered the phone, but it would appear I've won the Robo Lottery! Where in the he** is the phone company to pull the plug on them????
Unfortunately.....I heard the msg. then pressed 5 then looked it up here. The" $3000. " they say are a certificate to put toward a medical alert. How can they be stopped? Must be really pricey.

Yes, the female recorded voice offers a free medical emergency necklace or bracelet and the $3000 worth of groceries. Don't respond to this call. If you press any of the numbers the recording mentions, then you are letting them know your number is a working phone number. This is someone trying to get you to give them personal information and sign up for a medical alert system. Do not do it!

My phone just rang and CID showed this number and Out of Area. The female voice on the recording said that if you or someone in your family was over 60, they qualified for the govt. program that offered $3,000 worth of grocery assistance plus a free medical alert bracelet or necklace (others here have mentioned only a bracelet). All of this is a ploy to get information from you and say you'd be getting a medical alert system. I have no idea if anyone would actually receive the system. I blocked this number, but I think my blocked list is getting full!
Not buying it
Caller ID Name: V9121111230026 ...
I hung up because I suspected fraud.
Robo sales call that starts off with "If your a senior citizen" - I just hung up and added number to my blocked list.
please stop calling
offered me crapons - told to to keep em
It is a sales call. They want to tell you about the "new $3000 benefit for senior citizens, 60 years old and above." They also want you to get information about one of these emergency pendant that you can press if you fall down.
If you listen to the whole recording, you can press 5 to be taken from the call list. Maybe that works, and maybe it don't.
I pressed 5. We'll see.

The caller said something about people over 60 years old being entitled to $3000.00 in certificates for groceries. Then gave some pitch for a home alert system and to press one for more information. I wanted to tell them to take my name off their mailing list so I pressed one. The call just died.
We got this call, didn't answer but a message was left telling us about $3000 in spending money for food, etc and "Free" Medic Alert Bracelets. I researched the phone number and found out that it is a hoax. We have a call balck in place but they got past it.
There is an article in the current AARP Bulletin that warns of, and explains, the medic alert for seniors scam, that is well worth the reading.
713-936-4149 just called, on Labor Day, no less. Caller ID said "UNKNOWN NAME." Recorded female voice said they want to give senior citizens $3,000 worth of grocery coupons under some government assistance program. Also, they want to give seniors a "free" medical alert bracelet. My guess is that there is a monthly charge once you get the "free" bracelet, with about a 5 year contract to their benefit. I recognized the number as they have called several times before. I recorded the call and played the first 30 seconds of it for the FCC when I made my complaint and had the chance to add info. If you wait long enough when these scammers call, the female says to press 5 to be removed from their calling list. This time I did press 5 and a recorded male voice said I would receive no more calls. I doubt it.
Didnt answer. This number is a pest. Called me every week. I think it was a robocall.
this seems to work but I am not sure why. pick up your phone, check caller ID, if unknown, push button like you would to answer, and in same motion
push the off button.stops them from reaching answering machine, and after you do this over a week or two, the calls begin to decrease in number . we
started doing this about two months ago and now its rare to get more than
two calls a month. remember, it is like dancing...on/off..one/two..on/off
...................... Hope this helps you like it did me..................
just rec'd the same info: seniors 60 and over can get free grocery coupons and medical id braclet. I wouldn't have answered 'cept I didn't have on my glasses. This is awful. I don't need the coupons but my mother in law and many of my friends could darn sure use a service like this.
Just don't answer
Turn your phone volume way down
Block the number
Have a margarita, answer the call, have a little fun ;)
So is everyone else on this board
Recorded female voice offering seniors coupons for free groceries and a free medical alert device. She said to push 1 to talk to a cs rep. I filed a complaint with the FCC immediately. They obviously want seniors to give out their credit card numbers or other personal info. The caller ID said CALLER UnKNOWN.
