The Do Not call Registry does not apply to Collections.  It does not apply to others who are also exempt.  The DNC doesn't provide any immunity to any caller.  (go to the DNC site and read the frequently asked Q&As for a good source of quick and accurate information).    Send them a certified with signature requested cease and desist letter to stop all telephone contact with you.  Pursue them through legal means if they continue.  The FCC is where to report these a-holes.   The DNC registry is very limited in what it does as well as its usefulness anymore.

WILL SPAM CALLS EVER STOP???????  Some people on 800 Notes say that DO NOT CALL does not apply to collections.  However, since they don't have any reason to be calling me about MY credit (which maybe they would have a right to do if my credit was bad), DO THEY HAVE TO RIGHT TO HARASS ME CONTINUOUSLY AND RELENTLESSLY TO ATTEMP TO GAIN INFORMATION ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE? I don't think so!!  See below what I'm experiencing.

My life is a living daily SPAM-CALL-HELL, and I can't get out and I've done nothing to deserve this.  When will this harassment end? Yes I am on DO-NOT-CALL list. Yes, I do not have outstanding debits.  Yes, I pay all my bills earlier than on time.

They called with an auto message saying this message is for (blank) they actually said no name and if aren't (blank) again no name please hang up....so I did. I f this was a legit company and it was for legit reason's, then maybe a real person will call and talk to us or at least mention someones name.

Getting this number calling a couple times a day, no message. Leaves a 2 second voicemail of silence. My phone is set to not ring and go straight to voicemail if the person isn't on my contact list so haven't talked to them but tired of getting the calls. Why don't they leave a message if it's that important? See from here it's a debt collector, you'd think they'd leave a message requesting a call back or something.

We've gotten several calls from "URS" asking for my wife by her maiden name.  They've repeated demanded our mailing address after giving us no reason for the call.  They attempt to justify their call by giving a "last known address" for my wife - which she has never lived at.  They're rude, demand private information, and they give us no reason for calling besides "it's a personal matter."  I suspect this is a legitimate debt collection agency with poor business practices.  In our case, my wife has a common name and they either have the wrong person, or won't bother to give us enough information to prove they DO have the right person.
