WRONG!!!! There are victims out there no matter what is in this contract you are talking about. You may think you know it all, but you do not. Theere are several different types of situations like these and there are VICTIMS because of it.

Just a follow up to my original posting about a year ago.  I sent a letter of validation to this company and also asked them to cease all phone calls to me at my work and home.  I asked them only to communicate with me via mail.  I never received a validation back or anything else in the mail from them.  By law they have to send me the validation within 30 days of my request.  If they don't send that to me then they are required to cease collections on the debt.  But now I have an Allied Interstate Collections company calling me at least 6-8 times a day and their profile is even worse then ACM.  I'm now wondering if they bought the debt from ACM.  I will be sending them a validation letter as well.

First off, do a background check on the people that work for the company.  Go to the orange county courts online https://ocapps.occourts.org/Vision_Public/SearchCase.do and type in their names...see if any of them have criminal records and/or civil records.  These people are unethical and what you need to do is file a complaint against them.  In the meantime, be prepared...especially do a background check on Joseph E. Dorsey, the owner of the company...again, in Orange County, CA where the company is located

When you paid the ACM Group, did it not come off your credit report as paid??  I too just received a call and gave them an initial payment of $200 with the promise to pay the rest at a reduced price.  Please let me know what happened

they also called me at my job and said they were were going to serve me papers and gurnish my check and also my boss the new number they are using is 714 361 7575

dawn andrews is calling my work my boss my bosses boss threating to take me to jail.  My boss is very upset by the calls and told me to just pay them so they would quit calling so i paid a then $200 two time then realized they would not give me an addres i want to mail them a stop harrsasment letter as it is not legal to call work in teh state of california, please HELP tell me how to get them to stop calling my boss!!

Also received a call from these people yesterday, claiming all the same things I have read here. They stated they were a litigation firm and they would be filing litigation papers in the morning if I didn't settle this account in the next 24 hours. I spoke with a Mike Walsh (obviously a fake name) who violated SO many FDCPA regulations. This is a shady, scamming debt collecting agency, they have NO legal right to sue you for anything, so if you read this, please, dont bother yourself with their threats, because thats all they are, just threats.

I encountered the same things several of you have.  I went through a layoff and fell behind on my debt.  I have since paid most of it off but received a call from these guys threatening to sue.  However, due to statue of limitations, they were not able to.  Statue of limitations either starts when the last payment was made or when the account was closed.  They can still pursue the debt but can't sue you for it.  From what I read online, several people have lost the law suits because they didn't go to court and present documentation showing the statue of limitations had expired.  Below is the link that shows the statue of limitations per state.  Hope this helps.

Im so sorry this small minded alleged lady attorney is continuously illegally lieing about so many things. This last time she called and said she had a uregent response in regards to a debt sent to her for collections. She had the nerve to state my five year old frandaughter has been sent to collections for non-payment on a past due phone bill. Of course we were concerned and contacted her to let her know that there must be a mistake. She had the nerve to tell my daughter-in-law that this is just one tactic to locate a parent thatwas in colections. I would like to contact the attorneys I worked for before I got so ill and am now on disability&Soc Sec. This lady is the lowest scum useing our air to breathe

And check your credit reports. They are leaving inquirys with no justification and accessible by anyone. If you never applied for credit with them, they do not have the right to access your report.

They ARE from that company.. I will NEVER feel guilty about not paying their debts because any outstanding balances of mine that THEY own are strictly accrued interest and late fees.. I've paid credit card and bank account balances 4 times over. once they are made whole, anything else is gravy.. And they are STILL making those "process server" calls.. See you in hell, guys.

I got a call from ACM Group and they said that they were collecting on an old debt (credit card).  They told me an amount and then I said I didn't have that kind of money presently and that I would be happy to send them $25.00 per month.  They would not except and offered a very good settlement.  I accepted (two installments) and asked that they send me a confirmation letter. They did with a bogus letter head (false address and phone number) They already took money from my acct.  I looked for the address and phone numbers but they did not exist.  I learned my lesson.  I will review all my obligation and pay what I can when I can to those I contact from my own records (i.e verified credit report debt, financial records, etc).  I know that it is my obligation to pay off my debts; I will do the contacting. (period)

Everyone, file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.  What they are doing is ILLEGAL.  Also, file a complaint with your State Attorney General's Office.  I have consulted a lawyer myself to sue these people for violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  Here are some links for you.  I'm in Texas, but find your state's AG.  Also, here's a link to lawyers who will work on your behalf to sue these guys.

If these guys claim to be lawyers working for a law firm and are going to sue you and file papers against you, file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at the link above.  This is illegal for them to do this.

The ACM group, which is also The Asset and Capital Management Group, has come up with some unique ways to try to stay under the radar.

I Initially found out about this company when I checked my credit report, where I found a "hard" inquiry by the ACM Group. Then I started getting Harassing calls from The Bureau of Asset Management, aka Credit Recoveries Inc. aka Capital Recoveries Inc. They were wanting a large sum of money from me, but refused to validate the debt. Of course, they threatened me with a lawsuit, the police, process servers, etc.

They didn't carry through on any of the threats. They never do. They won't respond to any of my mail either.

Here is the catch. The ACM group, or Asset Capital Management group, out of Tustin California, is, or owns, or is affiliated with The Bureau of Asset Management, The Bureau Of Debt Management, Credit Recoveries Inc, Capital Recoveries Inc, or whatever new name they come up with. I've done quite a bit of research on this outfit. The group out of Anaheim changes their name often.

How did I find this out? All of their phone lines are registered to ACM group, or Asset & Capital Management Group.

A Justia search shows numerous FDCPA suits against them, and I'm sure more are to come.

Here's the thing. If they call you and threaten you, make them validate the debt. They won't do it. They also won't sue you, serve you, or take anything from you. They just threaten. Don't cut any deals with them, don't pay them, don't talk to them. If you do, record your conversations. They're shifty. They can be rather aggressive and bullyish, but just call them on their bluff.

Joseph E Dorsey is the owner of ACM Group. That way you have a real name to reference.

They called my husbands credit union and identified themselves as my husband to check the balance on his account.  When the account rep asked him to verify information they verified his ss#, dob and hung up when she asked for my mother in laws maiden name and the guy got it wrong.  The credit union rep called the number back and they answered the phone "Litigation" so she hung up.  She put security measures on our account.  I don't care what they're trying to collect, they should have federal charges filed against them for fraud!

I spoke with the California Attorney General's Office- they said the owner of the company Thai Han is on their radar for criminal charges of fraud.  Don't even call this company back - they are frauds!

LOL!! Point Taken. I just got a call from that 866 number and they confirmed everything with me concerning my debt. I take full responsibility for my debt and am taking the proper steps to take care of it. I agree with that if you don't pay your bills, your gonna have this happen to you. And for those who say they did nothing wrong, maybe you should get a copy of your credit report or if you dare, actually take the call from these people and find out. You do have the right to refuse and ask them to send you documentation of the supposed debt. I have been served before thinking I did nothing wrong, So please take my advice and just take care of any bills while you can to avoid all of the headache.
