Do YOU want to work for Garrett????  Always, always check out future Employers!  Sure saved me a lot of time for my so-called Interview......

January 13, 2006 12:00 am ? By: North County Times wire services

SANTA ANA - A former basketball coach at El Dorado High School in Placentia pleaded guilty Thursday to a felony charge for having a sexual relationship with a girl who played on his team.

Garrett Yoshina, 35, was sentenced to 90 days in jail, followed by three years probation, and will have to register as a sex offender, said Susan Schroeder of the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

Yoshina had been scheduled for a preliminary hearing in a Fullerton courtroom when he pleaded guilty to felony oral copulation of a minor, she said.

Orange County Superior Court Judge Roger Robbins also ordered Yoshina to take part in sexual offender counseling and not to participate in activities involving minors, Schroeder said.

Yoshina began seducing the 16-year-old girl through e-mails while he was working at the high school as a basketball coach of both the girls and boys teams, Schroeder said.

The unlawful sexual acts between the two took place on numerous occasions at Yoshina's home after school hours between June 1 and Dec. 31 of 2000, Schroeder said.

Deputy District Attorney Heidi Garrel said the girl came forward after five years because she did not want other students to be victimized by him and go through what she did.

Yoshina "was twice her age" and should have known better, Garrel said.
"He violated a trust by having sex with a girl he was in charge of and he knew he should not be," the prosecutor said.

I've started getting calls from Garrett since Friday. I did call back because I am in need of a job obviously, but as all the others have said, he never left the name of the company. I just googled his name, hoping that I could find out what company he worked for and found all of this. AMAZING. Glad I checked it out. As several others stated, this is absolutely outside of my field of expertise. I will stop wasting my time. Thank you all for your insight and feedback. Invaluable. How scary that he is an alleged criminal. If he's contracting for them, that probably explains why there was no BG check.

So, instead of saving ourselves the headache of dealing with an unsolicited sales call, against the better judgement acquired after years of watching the number of cold-caller SCAMS increase exponentially, you would have us actually let this filthy scammer try to steal our money before we complain?

Well, with your enormous capacity for illogic, no wonder you have a "job" that requires you to not only run this scam on the phone, but to try to run it on here.

LOL. Your pants are on fire!

People don't be so narrow minded. You read one blog post and all decide not to return this guys phone call. Be an adult and find out for yourselves, you have your own mind DON'T YOU? Yes there are plenty of scams out there but there are also plenty of opportunities for those willing to examine them. Do not miss out because of what you read from someone you don't even know.

Thanks 'KA'.  This guy Garrett called me this morning.  He said he has my resume and wants to interview me Thursday.  He asked me to bring a copy of my resume which made me wonder why.  If has my resume why can't he make copies for the 'Board' members who are supposed to interview me.  Good thing I googled him, his phone number, the name of the company and the address.  I got tons of negatives.  So I'm not going to the interview.

I just received a call from Garret today stating that he was interested in talking to me regarding a position that is available.  The first clue was that he didn't say the name of the company he was with!! Come to find out it is a finance company and I have NO financial background!  Talk about desperate!

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME CALLING BACK or
GOING TO AN INTERVIEW! (they are located in Brea, CA)

Glad I didn't bother calling back...why? I have 2 friends already working with WFG, and while they are doing well...it's not for me. I don't have the brainpower for Insurance laws/rules as proven by my failing the Life Ins. exam last year.

At least I could deduct the "education expenses" on my taxes.

I just got a call from Garrett at this number, but I didn't answer my cell. He left me a google voice message since I used my google phone number when I applied for online jobs so if a scam artist gets my #, it's not my real cell number.  He left this mssg for me: "Hi, this message is for (my name). My name is Garrett.  I'm just calling in regards to your resume. I would like to speak with you over the phone and, perhaps schedule a time for you to come in our office again. My name is direct and you can reach me directly at 714 323 0517. I look forward to talk to you soon and have a great day. Bye bye."

Now I never came to visit his office, but in voice mail left on google phone #, Garrett made it out as if I'd been to his office before.  I'm glad I didn't answer this call, and checked out his phone number online!  Thanks for reporting this scammer.  I hate pyramid scams!!

BECAREFUL LADIES. I do not know what kind of company World Financial Group is, but this is the Garrett Yoshina, the former coach from El Dorado High School who was busted for trying to have sex with one his students works at the Brea & Chino Hills office. I was totally suprised as I got a call from him saying that he saw my resume on hotjobs and he wanted to schedule me for an interview. I know about Garrett as I have a friend who's daughter attended the high school were Garrett worked. The last I heard he had to complete jail time and register as an sex offender, how he ended up working for this company I do not know. I guess World Financial Group does not complete background checks.

Today Garrett left me a voicemail on my cell phone saying he wanted to talk to me about a job - but didn't mention the position or the company. Two red flags right there!

And sure enough, a little online searching brought me here and gave me confirmation that he was yet another scammer preying on the unemployed.

Interestingly enough, someone else left a message on my home phone at about the same time - but HE gave me the company name, but not his name or the position. Of course, as soon as I heard the company was World Financial Group, I stopped listening, 'cause I already knew what a scam that company is.

I also got a call from "Garrett" who seems to be fishing through the job posting websites to get numbers and scam people  He also offered me the opportunity to "change careers" if I were to come in for an interview.

Yes it is a scam and dont follow through with what they want to offer you.  Heed the warning listed above about this.
