So, after contempating my thoughts i did my research and this was what i felt from the get go . Rule of thumb one go with your instinct when you feel unconfortable. My interview was set for 10-11-12 at 1:00. Good i did my reseach first and check these post. This is Sad to say the least, but i guest they need a job also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received a call on my cell phone, while at work, and Peter indicated that he had found my resume on CareerBuilder.  When I finally had the chance to explain to him that I was at work he asked if I was open to new opportunities, which I am, then I was hooked. He went into his dialogue about Transamerica and blah, blah, blah... said they had opening for customer service and management, so in which of the two did I have an interest.

Mind you, although I have experience in client service, my positions for the past 30 years have been in payroll and the last 12 years as a Payroll Manager and I am HR certified so when he asked me what I wanted  to do, I had to ask him if knew what my skill set was!

Anyhow, thank you for the blog!  Extremely helpful, now I do not have waste my time, I can stay at my old job until I truly find my true fit

I'm always suspiscious when people leave messages without much in the way of information, and whose phone number doesn't trail back to an actual business. I always end up finding those phone numbers on websites like this one. When someone doesn't tell you who they work with, or what work they'd like to hire you for, chances are that there is a reason they're not providing you that information.

Don't do it.

If you need Financial Services, try experienced advisors in the area such as those with Edward Jones (Chino Hills), New York Life (Pomona) or Guardian Life  (in Diamond Bar).  They won't recruit you into selling the insurance AND they have the years of experience and expertise to truly customize a plan for your NEEDS, NOT for their own commissions and quotas.

On top of that, WFG pushes their reps to finish their insurance licensing in as little as 14 days.  Think about this:  The Department of Insurance requirement is 52 on-line or classroom hours plus a test.  The passing threshhold on the test is 60%.  But, hey, that's okay for WFG standards... just pass and don't worry about it.  Is that they type of "professional" you want advising you on insurance or money matters?

Just keep this in mind:  Multi-level marketing is GREAT for household supplies, vitamins, jewelry and other relatively trivial purchases.  It is NOT the best business model for growing and managing your money or for protecting the financial interests of your family or your business.  Period.  Let's be clear:  Just like with any multi-level marketing model, (although WFG denies they are MLM) it's quite possible that anyone you enounter with WFG considers "recruiting" to be job 1, not serving your needs as a consumer.

These are nice, well-meaning people, some of whom have become very successful in this business and SOME of whom do have the experience necessary to serve you. Still, the same can be said for the conventional models for insurance and financial services - and if you are in need of the services or interested in the profession, you'll get a far more reliable and robust education and far greater value in the products.

As far as WFG is concerned, my advice is to begin working with a financial professional in an established practice that really knows his or her stuff and can demonstrate that to your satisfaction.  Be picky and ask a thousand questions.  Don't accept stock or scripted answers.  Dig deep before you write a check or authorize a roll-over.

Obviously you do not know the history behind this company. WFG has a very negetive reputation both in the marketplace as well in the business world. WFG always keeps trying to change and hide its identity. Transamerica Financial Advisors became part of WFG to cover World Group Securities. Unfortunately WFG is a company that needs to just go away but never will, they will keep harrassing inocent people, selling expensive products to people who do not need them. The only reason why companies like Transamerica, Pacfic Life allow WFG to represent them is because it is free marketing & free business for them, these companies do not have to pay WFG anything for the marketing.

GEESH.! so many negative feedback from negative people.. Well I've been with WFG for 2 years now. And in those 2 years I seen so many transitions EG: Transamerica is now part of the WFG family. You think a muti billion dollar company with high reputation will want to work with a "scam" company. Think about that one. And other affiliates such as Pac Life, Prudential, ING, ANG, WRL, Peach Tree list goes on. And the earning potential is unlimited, its just a matter of how much you want it. This is an ordinary company for ordinary people who do extraordinary things. I feel sorry for people who are stuck been comfortable living paycheck 2 paycheck been modern slaves. I took the initiative to change myself & my life with this company, and its been a hell of 2 years. Streaming a 6 figure income a week, A WEEK.!! because I want it and I"m fighting for it and let me tell you I'm not going to stop their. But like I said depends how much you want it and how what your willing to put up to accomplish it.

Imagine your accounts are managed by a part timer, you trust this person with your entire life savings but they dont have a degree, studied for 52 hours (1 week) and now is licensed to MANAGE your life savings. You call them about your account, but they are busy at their full time job and cant really do anything for you, You call their office and no one picks up because everyone is at their real job. Then, they try to recruit you and say you can do the same. Their "training" is more about recruiting than financial products, they play music to get them excited (like a drug), then they have people that go up on stage and say how much they make and sell them the "dream". As a potential recruit, they say you can be a "FINANCIAL PROFESSIONAL" by paying $100 for a background check, however when you ask them for a copy of that report they can not provide it for you, because they really dont do one. You just become a sucker, one out of the 10,000 they recruit a month totalling $1,000,000 per month of FREE money to the company! WFG has no expenses, all offices are ran by the people, all cost are from you, if you want materials YOU pay for it yourself! As far as the companies they sell like Prudential, ING etc... these companies dont care, it is not their reputation on the line, people know these companies are good and they are just in the business of getting more business from FREE agents, WFG brings in people and sell their products, what a great deal for the large insurance companies. Do yourself a favor, and if you are really interested in working in the financial world, go work for a REAL financial company, save your friends your relationships and your reputation! Because when your friend visit websites like these they will lose trust in YOU! 0
The TRUTH behind World Financial Group
The TRUTH behind World Financial Group

Do you want the truth about World Financial Group, now rebranding themselves as Transamerica Financial Advisers?????

I was in the trenches with this company for many years and I know firsthand the truth behind this company.

What do they really do? They sell you a dream. They are in the business of selling you a dream of financial independence. They sell the dream of having the income to support a better lifestyle for you and your family, to be able to spend more time with your family. To set yourself free of debt and never having to work again. To earn travel bonuses, Rolex watches, Super Bowl style rings, cars......etc.

The Reality. You will become a professional meeting attender. You will spend even less time with your family. Be prepared to sit in meeting after meeting after meeting after meeting. Why??? Because you need to be trained. They will tell you to come to the office to get training on financial concepts and how money works. They will tell you enough to get you excited and that's the point. To keep you excited so you keep coming back and bringing more and more people to meetings and ?big events?. To keep you excited so that when you tell people about the ?business opportunity? your true enthusiasm shows and they get excited and want to know more and agree to come to a ?open house?, ?career night?, ?grand opening?, ?interview?, ?corporate overview?, ?business presentation meeting?, ?one on one?, ?group hiring interview?.

You will be instructed and encouraged to bring and solicit your "warm market". What's that??? Your friends and family, co-workers, people off the street.....whoever you know or meet, they don't care. Just bring a body to fill a chair in the ?corporate overview, BPM? to hopefully get them interested enough to join or buy a product so that they too get excited and the whole "churning" machine keeps running. The problem with using your warm market is you will soon find that your friends and family will start to avoid you and may not even take or return your calls. Good luck with that. The WFG/TFA leadership will assure you that those who avoid you are the ones missing out and that you represent a ?noble cause? and not to be discouraged.

The Reality. Be prepared to spend all your time and money on meetings, seminars, self-improvement, getting licensed, rent, ?plug in fees? and attending "Big Events". Big events are motivational seminars that parade a lot of people across a stage to receive recognition. That is awards, prizes, plaques, swords and sometimes even an actual check. As an observer to all this, you would think that these people are winning big time and making big money. Don't believe it for a second. This is a psychological manipulation and powerful marketing tool to keep on existing agents and recruit new ones. Most of these award winners are broke and pretending to be something they are not, making money they are not.

Expect to be pushed beyond your ?comfort zone?. When you could be at home with your kids, you will be in meetings. When your spouse is home at night, you will be "in the field" doing sales presentations; most likely for skeptical people who can't afford the products you sell anyway. When you have no money, you will be pushed to attend the next ?big event?, you will be encouraged to "find a way", "go all in", "risk all to win all", ?if you can?t afford to be there, then you really need to be there?, ?if you miss this, it will be the biggest mistake of your life?, ?if you don?t attend you will be setting your business back by at least a year? they are masters of manipulation. They will make you feel like a loser if you do not comply. Their psychological power of manipulation is very compelling. They instill an environment of brutal competition, pitting associates against one another for greater production in the ?base shop? and the loser is often publicly humiliated and stands to lose money as a consequence.

The reality is these ?big events? cost a lot of money, offer little substance and are comprised of very little product training. There are several product providers that basically pitch you to sell their product. You will be expected to compete for seating that sometimes turns into pushing and shoving and battling for the first come first served seating. Some people try to reserve seats often winding up in heated arguments. Ridiculous. If you attend a big event be prepared for little sleep, hurried breaks, long winded testimonials from people that are misrepresenting the truth and a whole lot of pie in the sky dream selling. These people are masters of manipulation and intertwine their own religious beliefs to add to the perception of their conviction and belief in the business. Do not be fooled. Make them prove what they say.

The Business Format System. This is the "Bible" of the business. The ideas are sound; in fact the whole business model of WFG is great. The compensation is fantastic. So here are some encouraging words and what had initially given me hope. Again, the business model is AWESOME. But unfortunately, it is only a model. Here is how it works.

"The Law of Big Numbers". They will tell you that if you want to win big, then you will need to build a huge team, a ?big base shop?. They will tell you things like "get 10 and it's all over". They will show you presentations showing 10 agents with 10 sales at an average of $500.00 per sale will earn you $10,000 a month. Don't believe it. The numbers look good and it seems easy enough. Don't believe it.

"Charge backs" What is this???? Basically, when you sell an insurance product the buyer has a ?look over period? to decide if they want to keep the product. If the client cancels....and they often do; your commission is reversed. If your following month?s sales are low; you will actually end up owing the company money. So, you spend all your time in meetings, study for days on end and pay to get licensed (you have to be licensed to sell insurance products ((with some exceptions)), then you take time away from your family to go on a "field training appointment", you pay for gas, wear and tear on your vehicle, sit in front of a skeptical couple, try to fit them into a product, overcome objections, fill out the application, if you succeed in convincing them in a product, submit the application.....hopefully it's all filled out correctly or it will be rejected, order and schedule a medical exam, submit to underwriting and hopefully your client does not get rejected. Are you still with me????? So hopefully your client is approved and gets a good rating so that they can actually afford the policy. You may need to show that the client has sufficient "discretionary income" to buy the policy.

Congratulations!!!!.....the app was approved and the client is issued the policy. It's not over yet folks.....this is the simplified version....complex cases can require mountains of paperwork......Now you must deliver the policy to the client and you do. The client realizes the extra $400 a month is really cramping their lifestyle and is a burden. They cancel, you get a ?charge back? and now all your time, effort and expense is down the drain. So you say, what happened??? Understand this...It's your fault. You wrote "bad business", "you're in the wrong market", "you oversold the client".....whatever it is, it's YOUR FAULT, even though you did EVERYTHING right. I'm telling you the psychological impact is overwhelming.

When you get frustrated and want to quit you will hear things like, "mental toughness", "would you quit on your hopes and dreams", "quitters never win".....they will mess you up in the head so bad that you stay on, plugging away, going deeper and deeper into a very dark place. This is also part of the psychology surrounding building a team, a ?base shop?. Now you are directly responsible for those you have brought in under you and to the clients you have sold products to. Most people find it impossible to quit under these circumstances that they continue, regardless of their personal dilemmas.

The Reality. Don't believe the hype....This is MLM.

This may be your reality.

Here are my suggestions.

If you are approached as a client, take a look and compare companies, products, costs and services. The products WFG/TFA offer are legit and may be good for you. The problem is the sales person, in most cases, is not an expert and has just enough knowledge to pass the licensing exams. So don't think for a minute that you're in competent hands and dealing with an experienced industry professional.

Understand that WFG/TFA will take ANYONE on as an agent as long as they do not have a felony or financial related criminal CONVICTION. Yes, a conviction. A person could have been arrested multiple times for anything and had the case dismissed or any circumstance not resulting in a conviction and they are eligible to become a WFG/TFA agent. WFG/TFA agents come from all walks of life. One WFG agent is currently (2011) awaiting trial for rape and assault while impersonating a police officer......so BEWARE!!

This business attracts all types of people. Some are not so good. Truth, there are also A LOT of very good people. I have to give them credit. But in my opinion WFG/TFA need to raise their standards of who they accept BIG TIME!!!!

If you plan to join the company as an agent; my words of advice are: ask A LOT of questions and be prepared to go around in circles in getting a straight answer. Ask to see tax returns of the people trying to portray themselves as millionaires.....they will sell themselves with such conviction and confidence that you should be equally assertive in having them prove it. You will be astonished at how many broke millionaires and outright liars you will find. Go in with your eyes wide open.

WARNING: DO NOT GO FULL TIME NO MATTER WHAT UNTIL YOU ARE TRULY MAKING A LEVEL OF INCOME FROM WFG/TFA THAT WILL SUSTAIN YOU WITH A MINIMUM OF 6 MONTHS RESERVE.

Understand that your life will be consumed by this business. Understand that the claims they make ARE TRUE......what???? Yes, the claims are true. There are people making big money......the truth is, VERY FEW......let me say again, VERY FEW. But maybe you are a "stud", and you are different and think you can rise against all odds and make it....some do. Good luck. I can only say that if I had been given the truth up front....I would have stayed with my $175K a year job and never, ever gotten involved with this company.

There are some positives to WFG/TFA, there are things to be learned, but there is a cost. They tell you it's FREE education. Don't believe it.

I have seen very little positive effect over the masses of people that filter through the company. The only positive effect, financially speaking, is for the top dogs. The people at the top of the organization. Their success is fed by the small people at the bottom. Consider this. The law of big numbers, tons of people ?filtered? through the system. One product here, one there, a ticket here and there??multiplied by thousands and thousands all the while, small parts of those profits ?rolling up? to the ?up-line?. Get the picture. The big fish are fed by the efforts of the small fish who dream of becoming a big fish. Good luck.

I have seen a very few profit in riches beyond what most people can ever hope to earn. But this is only a very, very, very few. Not like 1 in 10. More like 1 in 100,000 and that is a conservative estimate. And it is maybe 1 in 1,000,000 that really hit it big.

I have seen savings lost, families destroyed, foreclosures, bankruptcies, divorces, suicides, criminal activity, assaults, deceit, sexual harassment, credit cards maxed out, cars and other property repossessed, depression, despair, hopelessness, addiction, stress, stress related illness and all kinds of very bad things happen to good people all trying to fulfill this so called dream. It is a dream and for most will only be just a dream and nothing more. Unrealistic, unobtainable and understand the little fish only feed the bigger fish. No matter what success you have in the company, someone upstream (up-line) reaps the benefit of your hard work. Yet you alone will suffer the losses when they occur.

Don't believe the hype. For all of those who have posted such positive comments about the company all I can say is......keep drinking the Kool-Aid.

If my words help just one family stay together, prevent one divorce, separation, foreclosure, bankruptcy, suicide or other ill fated consequence.....well then my time was well spent here.

I challenge anyone to refute and disprove my words....trust me; I know what I am talking about. I could name names, but in fairness, it is everyone's right and responsibility to make their own decisions. My biggest complaint / concern is that the WFG/TFA leadership is NOT telling the truth about what really happens. They are way too busy dream selling and not reality telling.

I was successful with this company, but ultimately lost far more than I ever gained and it nearly cost me everything. My marriage, my home, all my money, my health, my sanity, my possessions, nearly all lost. I woke up just in time and I hope this helps anyone considering getting involved with this company.

Bottom line, BEWARE. Forewarned is fair warned. Participate at your own risk and if you proceed remember you read this. I told you so.

We scheduled an interview for tomorrow at suite 200 in Brea which I am not going. He said there are two available positions, one in customer service and the other management. He asked me to wear a tie for the interview too and he sounded professional... at least to me!

Same story as the rest, 3350 E. Birch Suite 200 Brea. However my call came from 626-589-6847 a woman named Lena Ong. Which her name seemed to be the most important detail for me to remember, since she said she would not be attending the meeting but needed me to give her name to the receptionist. If asked flat out, if that was because I would be on her team with her as the manager with me making money for her, and that I would have to eventually find my team if I wanted to make money, she actually said "Yes" followed by, "but not exactly" When I told her I wanted to see some concrete info or a company website so I knew what the position was for, she couldn't give me a straight answer. However later on sent this in a text message:
"Hi Bryan! go to http://tfg.transamerica.com We will only send the detail including compensation package to potential candidates, after the interview."

I responded to her text with "Should I bring $100 for my Background Check" she never replied.

Don't waste your time, and if you are dumb enough to go, know that the 3 references that want you to write on the back of your resume (who would write that out, print it on a separate paper) and not character references, but rather more contacts for them to call and try to do the same scam with

What I am doing now just for s**** and giggles, is taking that number she called me from, and signing up for every online school I can find using that number. I suggest others do the same.

BEWARE! This is NOT a job opportunity but a BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY meaning that an investment on your behalf is required in order to become part of this company. If you are contacted or approached from anyone who mentions that they are from a company called Aegon, World Group Securities or Transamerica Financial Advisors they really belong to a company called World Financial Group which is also know as WFG. Unfortunately as World Financial Group has not developed a good name for itself, many people who are affiliated with this company often will hide behind another name to hide the companies identity. World Financial Group requires that you invest $100.00 for administrative purposes then they require you to invest $300.00 to become licensed. If you do not become licensed then unfortunately you can NOT earn any money. This is required by the state of California. After you have invested a total of $400.00 then you are required to invest another $100.00 total so you can get affiliated with the companies that you will be representing now that you are licensed with a total investment of $500.00
As this is a business opportunity many people who I spoke to do not make it with WFG. The average seems to be 5-6 years before they really start to make any kind of income. In order to make it sooner in WFG, you have to first become a client even if you have insurance and investments with another company that WFG represents, you are expected to cancel those policies and start new policies through WFG, this is one way how the associates who are with WFG make money.
After you become a client then you will be expected to make a list of the people you know and you and someone would contact this people and make arrangements to go and meet with them & have them buy policies. Now remember as you are not licensed yet you can not earn any money & WFG will not let you become licensed first before you go out and meet with the people who you know. This is how associates in WFG also make money. The people you sit down with and make become a client, you then have to recruit them into the business & the company, even if they are not interested it is required that you make them to become part of the company. When you have completed these tasks then the company will promote you.
World Financial Group has a nortorius reputation, they just waste peoples time and have a huge habit on praying on people who are looking for work.
When I received a call, I started to ask questions and they do not like for you to ask questions. I guess they think people are not going to ask questions, however I went to see what the opportunity was about as I had been approached by many other people and companies that were in the Financial Services Industry.
I asked the individual who called me what position was I applying for as they found my resume on a resume website, they said they had many different positions available but when I arrived I immediately noticed that it was SALES. When I arrived at the office I heard music playing in the background & I noticed people were being escorted to the area were the music was playing when it came for me to be escorted they explained to me about the company then they started passing me from one person to another, these individuals start asking you all kinds of questions not even pertaining to why you are there, they are trying to get you to become a client while you are supose to be there for a job interview which it is not. After you spend 10 minutes networking like SALES people do then you taken into a conference room were you sit through a presentation about the company & what they actually do before you are taken for an interview which was not even a one on one interview. I guess the person who called me called other people as well and we both showed up so my one on one interview ended up being a group interview which to me is very unprofessional as they started asking me questions about my financial situtation and how WFG could possibly help me out if I joined their company. I guess this is how they also generate clients as I was told they do not cold call or knock on doors. Basically this is a Multi-Level Marketing company (MLM) who wastes people time who are looking for work.

LMAO!
I received a phone message from Albert at 714-794-2267 in regard to "My Resume".
Nothing about it sounded familiar so I Googled the phone number and found these links.
I worked in Suite 201 (right next door) for almost 2 years and never knew what those people did in there. They were ALWAYS on the phone in the hallway and around the building. Too funny. Good day.
