hang up calls

stop these very annoying calls & hang ups

I picked up and just listenend.
"Hello" he said in a Indian accent.....Back ground phone room chatter, he was also eating. A person next to hin asked him something, His advise to the person was "Be shure to get the MONEY". I hear more chatter, then he hangs up on this call.

Received a call from 714-409-0338 came up on my caller id as a California call. Are they crazy, I live in the midwest, don't know anyone in California naturally I did not answer and they left no message.  I am on the Do not call Registry List and  yet I get this calls. What is the purpose of do not call list?

SUPPOSED Free Listing at Yellow Pages:  This scam targets businesses. The caller says that he is from Yellow Pages and is calling to update their records. He proceeds by asking to confirm some basic information such as owner?s name, business phone number, address, and company name. Then they start billing the victim and only then the business owner realizes that it?s not a free listing and it was not Yellow Pages directory that called.
The victims report that when they call to complain, the company plays the recorded conversation with the victim saying 'Yes' except that the caller is reading from a completely different script. The scammers replace one side of the conversation, making it sound as if the business owner agreed to a paid listing and a monthly fee.

Best way to handle this is to immediately hang up and wait 5 seconds, then pick up and see if the calll is still there.  Fededal law says they must disconnect within 5 seconds if you hang up and cannot tie up your line.  If they do, report to: https://esupport.fcc.gov/ccmsforms/form1088!createConsumer.action

They apparently do not abide by the law.  I am also on the do not call list.  Yellow Pages trying to verify information

This number calls me 3 or 4 times daily on my cell phone. When I answer, they hang up. Please help anyone who can! What can I do???l

Caller, who spoke very broken English, tried to sell me a Yellow Pages ad, when I said, "look, I've asked a dozen times to be taken off your calling list....." the jerk hung up on me.

Called my office phone (which is on the do not call list) and when I identified myself and the business they hung up immediately.  Tried to call back but apparently ext. 350's mailbox is full.  Annoying.  Reverse phone look up shows the number coming from Anaheim, CA.
