I called this number back and recording said it is either changed, disconnected or no longer in service. So that makes it ID spoof. Therefore Spam, fraud! My call block app cut it off immediately as spam. Other sites say this is Insurance Solutions, who used to call with Florida number. Apparently they think I will answer a 714 fraud number. Ha!

714 497 4542 - I thought I heard them say when I answered that "this call is a collect call".  I hung up quickly and added to my reject list on my cell phone.  Maybe they said "this call is not a collect call".  Either way, they are on my reject list.  They called my cell phone number - very few have this number since I have converted to Google Voice for all my calls.  The only way they could have gotten this number is through AT&T where I purchased the phone (and converted to google voice within a week.)

I do not appreciate getting unsolicited calls from this number on my cell phone.  Please stop!

The DNC List works perfectly well. You just don't understand what it's supposed to do. It tells legitimate businesses that we don't want telemarketing calls. And I don't get any telemarketing calls from legitimate businesses. Neither do you.

Criminals, however, treat the Do Not Call list the way they treat any other law.

The DNC list doesn't work ... It's not worked for all the phone numbers I've put into it.  I wish that it did tho !!!

This company called me several times under 4 different phone numbers (I blocked the first 3) then since I was caught off guard waitin on a call, I answered it and this woman went into a spiel about car insurance and after that she then asked if I was "Jane Doe" the "Jane Doe with this address, that phone number and XYZ@email.com" which I told her..."No, you have the wrong person!"

For those who asked, VOIP is a way calls are being made via the internet to a landline or cell phone. It's allows the company/person calling to block their real phone number and it allows a "unused" number to show up as the call. VOIP= Voice Over Internet Provider.

Got a call from this number today, guy named Chris wanted to know if I was interested in cheat auto insurance. Hung up.

How do I get them from calling me.... leave no message!

Man with very poor English wanting to sell insurance.. has happened several times over the last few months. I am on the no call list also but it obviously means nothing.

I RECIEVED A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER AND WHEN I ANSWERED THE CALL ALL I HEARD WAS GOOD BYE LIKE FROM A RECORDING..

I didn't answer, but they left a voicemail just saying my name over and over. It was creepy.

unknown company called me from this number. I answered the phone and said hello and an automated voice said goodbye.my caller id displayed the phone number and orange California but no company name.probably just another irritating scammer or telemarketer wasting my time.

I have gotten several calls from this number, 714-497-4542 today. They left no messages. I am on the no call list and have been for quite awhile.

Want to stop repeated telescam phone calls?
Try these alternatives:

1.  Do not answer the phone if you see an unknown number on your Caller ID ... let it go to answering machine or voicemail.  Many telescammers hang up after 3 rings.

2.  If you have a smartphone, get one of the inexpensive or free phone blocker apps at your online app store, and learn how to use it.

3.  If your cel is not "smart", read the manual to learn how to set up a "group".  Assign the scammer's phone number to that group.  Also assign a "silent ring" to that group.  You will not hear future calls from that number.

4.  Google NoMoRobo, and visit their site, to see if your phone system is compatible with that system.  (It may or may not be compatible).

5.  Contact your phone service provider.  They may have a facility or method to allow you to block numbers.

6.  If you buy things online, you might want to google "Amazon phone blocker" to see what devices or apps Amazon has to offer for landlines or smartphones. Similar devices are for sale on eBay and other online stores.

I did that once upon a time and somehow it gets out there :(  Not sure how these companies get our contact numbers ...  I was really careful too !!!

calls leaves no msg.this has numerous times from this phone#. i am receiving at least 8 calls a day from similar  scamers.i have had this same cell # for over 10 years,for some reason it has only been in the last 3 years this stuff has been happening.My best suggestion is to google and report. if you unfortunately  do answer and get someone swear and threaten them. it works. good luck

Woman who speaks English very poorly is trying to sell me auto insurance.  I tried to ask to be removed from their calling list and they hung up on me.

I do remember entering my phone # in a web promo for car insurance.  That was a while ago, and I still get calls every now and then.  I guess I need to be extra careful where I insert this information.  I'm afraid my number is going to be a confirmed car insurance lead for marketers forever.
