They did not leave a message, but I found this:
"The National Fraternal Order of Police does not conduct telephone solicitations. However, some State and local FOP lodges do. If you have a question about a telephone call you received requesting that you make a donation to the FOP, please contact the local FOP lodge in your area or the FOP State Lodge in your state."

Could be an affiliate lodge or a scam or both - hard to say.

CA For..something related to police.  When I asked if they wanted money he hung up on me, but before he hung up he said he would call later. I tried to tell him not call again but he  hung up on me!  He was trying to get me to tell him I wanted the police (as a service) and I would not answer him. He did not like my responses so that is why he hung up. Creepy man.

It's the CA Fraternal Order of Police.  They are PAID solicitors and don't actually raise money for police officers.

Last comment talked about guy bellowing.  That's funny because my voicemail had a guy complaining here couldn't hear us and would call back again, all with an angry voice.  Not going to raise alot of funds with that crappy attitude.

We just received one of these calls. The Caller ID said "CA FOP" which I correctly guessed stood for the California Fraternal Order of Police. He asked for my wife; I said I would get her. After two seconds he began bellowing into the phone about no one responding to him. Then he hung up. Too bad, I had $500 I was going to give him.

Same as noted above---"CA FoP".  A guy asked for me by name.  When I replied "This is he", he hung up.  I made the mistake of donating to them years ago, and they haven't stopped calling since.  I believe this same group solicits for some firemen's fund.  Seeing as how it might be an NPO, perhaps they're exempt from the "Do not call registry" restrictions??

Called, asked for the "lady of the house" (how old time is that!) and rattled off a name that I now know is  Fraternal Order of Police .. when I started to say "wait wait wait" (I was about to say my number was on the do not call list)  he said sorry and hung up.

It sucks 'cause I'm waiting for a call from someone and who knows,

Guy calls and asks for "Tom".  When I told him there was no Tom here I asked for the number he was calling.  I'm new to my number and thought maybe I could avoid more of those bill collectors from the last guy who had my number to stop calling.  Guy says, "I'm sorry. Let me check my volume" and then hung up.  Wierd...  I hope it's not some scam to somehow bill your phone $$$ by an Arabian Sheik needing me to wire him money because I won the Nigerian lottery...  Kinda sad that you can't even answer your phone anymore without thinking someone's trying to rip you off....

I answered this call and the man said they were a "forum" (or something" from the police dept. I didn't wait for his pitch. I just hung up. The ID showed
"Ca FOP" I know that the police do not solicit money over the telephone.

Are these calls in correlation with anyone getting a ticket.

If so that is illegal solicitation

I received one of these calls a few minutes ago. The Caller ID said "CA FOP" which stood for California Fraternal Order of Police. He asked for my wife; I said I would get her. But after two seconds he began asking where we were and why no one was responding to him. Then he hung up. He may have some kind of fundraising goal to meet that only allows him a couple of seconds to ask for money.

Received IVR call that asked for "the lady of the house". My telephone listing does not give a first name, only an initial. Call did not identify as required by 47 CFR 64.1200(b) or B&PC 17500.3. As an automated call, it violated PUC 2871 et seq. After some interaction, the caller revealed that the call was being recorded, so it violates PC 632.

I called 714-551-5554, and it answers as California State Fraternal Order of Police. The company actually making the solicitation is Corporations for Character, LC out of Murray, UT. The CA AG charity site does list the campaign. C for C says it keeps 70 percent of the donations for itself.

This phone number is calling to do fund raising for the California State Fraternal Order of Police. I have called the number.  It directs you to a customer service department that can answer questions, help you donate, or anything else related to the FOP. Also, there?s information on www.cafop.org. Plus, you can contact them there with any questions or requests.
The FOP is doing a lot of really great things for California police officers and the people that call are trying to help them raise money so they can do even more good.
