After about three weeks the bogus phone calls began to slow down.  Only one caller actually spoke to me from one of the bogus numbers.  They asked for a person other than I.  Once informed that person was not at my number, they stopped calling.  However, I continued to receive many more phone calls with no one on the line.  Or, I would try to call them back using a land line and the number was out of order.  Not sure how, but these callers were able to manipulate my caller ID.  Many of the numbers came up with a local area code the same next three digits, but the last four were always different.  For a while I was getting tons of calls from 000-000-0000. How did they do that one? Finally after a few weeks of not answering any of the calls, they stopped.

Nearest I can tell, when I entered my phone number into a web page to register a product I had recently purchased, I began getting calls within one hour.  Since I trust the company I used,  I am guessing that I had a bug or some sort of cookie on my computer that took my phone number.

Not once did I get a single pitch from anyone.  AS well, no one left any messages.  So for the life of me, I cannot figure out why any of these calls began in the first place or continued for that matter.  My phone bill has not had any extra charges on it.  So bottom line, the calls were just a huge annoyance to me.

Received a call stating that I had sign up for online classes. When asked when I signed up he said  again: What type of classes were you interested in? I said I did not sign up for any on line classes and to call 888-361-6348 to customer service to find out more information.  Had caller ID and here is the number they called from: 714-551-6991. I have nevered signed up for any on line classes. They must be connected to a free credit report on line you can request but at the end they want $1 to process your free credit report. If it is free why do they want your credit card to charge you $1.00 for a FRE CREDIT REPORT!!!!!. Did not enter my credit card and backed out then been recieving phone call from all different companies. This free credit report is selling your information to other companies.

Got first call from this number this morning. Asked if "my name" was there and I said "this is she" and they  hung up. What's the point???

Did not leave message and needs to stop calling.

another call from a place about going back to school. this is the 4th number I have gotten these calls from you tell one not to call anymore and then you just get a call from a different number I am the do not call list but apparently they have found away around it by swiping your number and passing it around from where most places make you fill out job applications online and make you do a survey before you can get the application or even get it started

Yeah I have gotten calls so far from 4 different numbers you tell one you are not interested and then you get a call from another number do not know how to make it stop. I have received calls from 2 different numbers today with the same bull about going back to school

Have been getting annoying phone calls from numerous "bogus" numbers including this one since 12/18/12.  Just started happening one morning and hasn't quit.  All different area codes and numbers. I have an unlisted telephone number, but they somehow got it.

Numbers that have called are: Out of Area - Unknown - Private Caller  (I put a block on these thru Verizon)
Others using area codes - 888; 437; 222; 275; 849; 614; 347; 818; 714; 571.  I have sent a written report to the FCC but doubt if that will go anywhere.  I have blocked the numbers that are repetitive but the calls keep coming.

This morning I had a call at 8:08 AM from 714-551-6991 (Classes Careers??) -- I was still in bed and just let it ring.By 9:00 I was ready with my WHISTLE. At 9:40 AM the phone rang again from 571-441-0156 (Education Match).  I answered the call and when the person asked for "Mike" (always have used this name) I blew the whistle right into the mouthpiece!  Now, I am ready to take on these annoying b*****ds!

This and several other numbers just over the last two weeks - all callers have heavy accents and if you do pick up the call and try to ask them questions, they hang up on you.  I am getting so sick of this!!!

Constant phone calls from various locations across the country to call back to remove number

A couple of days ago I saw an ad on facebook about getting free Disneyland tickets. I tried to see if I can get them but it ended up being a telemarketing ploy. In it I ended up clicking that I would like to continue my education. Since then I received a couple of calls with people asking me about going back to school. I told them that I was filling out a survey and don't actually need to go back to school. They said ok and hung up.

Since then I've received random messages from different numbers, including this one, with no one answering. I called back and got the same thing. I waited until I got the option to remove my number from their list. I removed it. I'm hoping that's it.

Did a job search on JOB.COM. Got a call this morning but did not leave any message. Searched Internet and found out it is from telemarketer!  It is annoying!

Recieved a call bout an hour ago from a restricted number and they immediately hung up when I answered. Then not but 30mins later got a call from this number and all I got was a males voice saying hello then the call ended. I called back and got a recording for the "Career Institute" and from what I've been reading in. here it's not the real one. I'm noticing that every one who actually got to speak to someone before getting hung up on were talking to a guy. Maybe coincedence maybe not. But im blocking the number.

They called me and left no message.  I called back and got the recording about the "Career Institute" matching up student with educational... thats when I hung up.

Does anyone here have a straight talk phone from wal-mart? I am wondering if they sell phone Number because since I have had straight talk I receive about 20 calls a day from different numbers. I try not to answear but have and on one of them I had a person that could barely speak english and called me an "AMERICAN IDIOT" so tired of this . The number was 510-201-5688.

I didn't get to the phone in time to answer...but I wouldn't have anyways since that area code is no where near me. From looking at the other responses here I WON'T be answering it in the future. There have been a flood of telemarketers calling my cell phone in the last few months. I'm sick of blocking phone numbers. Geesh!

Called at 7am and woke my 7 month old up.... Very unhappy!

I am getting so many calls I am going to have to change my phone number.  This number and others These people are working from an illegal source.  They somehow got my cell phone and stated I had won a $1000.00 best buy card.  Best Buy is investigating. It is a con job to get my information.  
So, I am keeping all of these numbers.  Eventually they will find the source.

I am also getting these calls. I recently entered my phone number into a web page from Roku when I signed up for their services.  Within three hours I started to get bombarded with this phone number and several others. 209-418-1009, 877-487-6032, 571-441-0156.  It is so annoying to receive so many calls.  What I don't get, is why?  No one speaks when I do answer and only one had left a voice mail.  It was a sales pitch for something.  I did not listen to it.  So, I am left wondering, how are they making a profit and more importantly, how do I get them to stop?????  I did call back the 877 number and received a message stating, "You have reached the marketing department."  Would not even say the companies name.
