I received a call from 'Frank' with Becks Creek IND. 714-646-1195 He wants to settle out of court for about $1500.00. He says I owe $3600.00 on a Citi Bank Visa Card. He wanted my physical address at home and the place where I work to serve me with legal papers. He said it would be an embarassment for me and well as legal fees if I didn't pay. I hve my Supervisor about the abuse and have suffered high blood pressure since his verbal harassment. Please be ware of this person who identified himself as Frank Ariano. Tom in Texas.

If you have caller ID (which obviously you do) then don't answer your phone.  These morons called my sister (a third party and a lawyer) and proceeded to call her a stupid b*&@h.  Okay, if that's not illegal then please tell me what is!  Besides illegal it is extremely unprofessional and incredibly tacky business practice for an alleged law firm!  BTW, the BBB gives them an F rating.  "Them" referring to Becks Creek Industries.  They are the ones actually calling you, not the Law Office of Amy McDonald.  Do not give out any personal information.  If they are indeed legit and have the info they need to call you, then they should have all they need to sue you (but they don't and they aren't and they will try and scare you).  Hope this puts your mind at ease!

Guess what?  She's not licensed in OK either, but her little puppets call everyday.  For over a year now (off and on) they've tried to get to us.  They use the very same tactics.  You know how it goes..."we're sending the sherrif to your house as we speak"...blah, blah, blah!  You can check your local court records and I promise you're not going to find a thing.  They're breaking the law on a daily basis, but I'm wondering why if everyone knows they're crooks and doesn't give them any money, then why haven't they gone belly up?  They have to be spending more than they're making and paying employees to go after imaginary debts.  Come on people, get a real job or atleast go to work for a reputable company that recovers actual debts.  Maybe we should all get together and pay our pretend debts with monopoly money :)

I just wanted to let people WHO LIVE in California know that the statue of limitations on money owed is 4 years.  If you have not paid a bill or admitted that the bill is yours for four years, the debt is gone.  Though it will stay on your credit report, the bill is no longer yours BUT YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER DO NOT EVER ADMIT THE BILL IS YOURS. ONCE YOU ADMIT THE BILL IS YOURS THE 4 YEARS STARTS ALL OVER AND THEY PROBABLY HAVE YOUR CONVERSATION RECORDED WITH YOUR VOICE ADMITTING THIS SO YOUR STUCK. REMEMBER THE DATE THAT YOU ADMITTED TO IT AND START COUNTING YOUR 4 YEARS AGAIN. YOU NEED TO TELL THEM THAT THE ALLEGED BILL IS NOT YOURS AND (YOU HAVE TO USE THE WORD ALLEGED )THEN ASK THEM TO SEND PROOF TO YOU THAT IT IS YOURS SO YOU CAN RESEARCH IT.  REMEMBER, IF IN FACT THEY DO HAVE A BILL THAT YOU OWE, THEY WILL ALREADY HAVE YOUR ADDRESS SO DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR ADDRESS EITHER.  YOU WILL LIKELY NEVER HEAR FROM THEM AGAIN.  AGAIN, DO NOT PAY A COLLECTION AGENCY, THE DEBT HAS ALREADY BEEN WRITTEN OFF.The collection agencys ARE SCUM AND buy past due accounts from the origianl creditor for pennies on the dollar in hopes that they can fool us and collect the full debt you owed.  This is after the original company you owe has already written off you debt on their taxes(meaning they have already been paid what YOU OWED THEM).
I got a phone call today 6-3-2008.  They were asking for my deceased father in-law reguarding a case number.  When I tried to call back the phone companys announcement said that the number couldn't be completed due to network difficulty. I borrowed this book from my brother who was trying to clean up his credit.  It is called "DEBT CURES"  he had to order it but let me tell you the info in it is great.  It tells you exactly what to say and do about these types of calls and has forms for you to actually dispute things that are on your credit report and have it removed.  These times are hard for everyone so I just wanted to help you get the info above.  I learned this from that book.  I hope it helps you.  Please let me know.

My bills ARE paid.  Your company Jay, is just a bunch of crooks.  that is why we are here.  The "debt" they tried to collect from me was run up on a credit card that was stolen, and rported as such (not that it matted to you idiots) and fortunately for me, I kept all records and details of teh incident.  if it was  legit debt, ya woulda won.  But ya didnt.

nice try.  Another Beck's Creek employee trying to save the day for these crooks.
If they were legit they wouldn't be:
1) trying to collect debts that don't exist or are out of statute
2) attempting to scare third parties or senior citizens
3) would have their own office not a DUI lawyer's store-front
4) failing to supply original creditor info
5) dealing only on the phone-- legit actions MUST be attempted in writing first.  None of the people posting here (for real, not employees posing as relieved debtors) rec'd any written commnications.

They call us too.  What I don't understand is how they got our number.  Our home number as well as our cell phones are unlisted.  These people harassed, intimidated, and evened cussed family members in an attempt to get to us.  After a while it stopped, but now they have our home number.  We don't even know what the debt is for nor can we find it on our credit reports, but they won't seem to say who the original creditor is.  Could it be that there is not an original creditor?

They still call me about once per week, but since I insisted they send me information in writing they haven't left messages.  When I told the guy I wanted to deal with them only in writing he asked for my mailing address, which i did not give-- I haven't moved since 1995, if this is a legit debt (they won't tell me what it is) they would have my address.  Not sure how they got my # but they don't seem to be able to get any other info.

These creeps called again today and asked for my roommate by name-- very distrubing.  But he handeled it well, when they started asking about me, he asked who they were and why they wanted to know. The caller said he was "researchinf assets and liabilities" of me.  My roommate replied they were not allowed to get such information from a third party.  The caller was silent and then asked where I might be found, and my rommate repeated that they were not, by law permitted to gain information from third parties, that the question was not legal and in fact actionable.  When the caller from Beck's did not respond, my roommate hung up the phone. Surprisingly, given the history posted on this site, this man did not become belligerent or abusive, just silent. Thus far they have not called back.

I got a call today on my cell phone from 714-579-3137 from "McDonald" looking for a Sarah Otara. The man knew my cell number, my name, my married name and my current address. I didn't know a Sarah Otara and I told him that, and he said his paperwork indicated she was a roomate. He asked how long I lived at my current residence. He said he was calling from Assets and Liabilities. I told him I  didn't know her and he said "strange" and we hung up.

I rec'd 2 calls from someone claiming to be Justin Wood with Beck's Creek Industries: in the first message, left at my office, he stated he was "returning my call as I requested" and give a toll free no (866-579-3731) and said that the extension  is "as usual 214."  I had never heard of this person or Beck's Creek Industries, so i thought it was someone trying to sell me something.  At home I got a message from the same person only this time he said he "needed to discuss a legal matter."  Both messages were obviously from the same person, who mispronounced my last name (it is not difficult) in one call and pronounced it correctly in another, so he evidently did not realize he was calling the same person.
It was late on a friday evening but I tried the # anyway and the extension given is held another another name (Frank Arellano) who has a very different voice than Mr Wood.
I have no outstanding debts nor anything pending and haven't made a late payment in many many years (not since i was a student in the late 80s) so I have no idea what they could want, but clearly, this is not a legitimate operation.

I also received a call from this law office/bill collector.  Don't bother returning the call as they leave messages stating they are wanting to speak to you regardng a legal matter.

Called at home about 7 pm - said it was Frank from Amy McDonald's Law office and to call tonight! Left the same number that showed on caller ID. This number is in CA we are in NC - a law office in CA cannot deal with us in NC unless the attorney is also licensed in NC - I checked the NC State Bar and there is no one by this name licensed in NC. So I will NOT be returning their call.
