Call and hang up.  Callier ID "GCI" which, of course, means absolutely nothing, since it is easy to spoof both numbers and IDs. Just don't answer...

Over the past several years I've received numerous unsolicited sales calls from someone identifying themselves as Frank Gialketsis.  I've always said I'm NOT interested in their services. They've always asked if they could call back later, and I've ALWAYS answered no.  They've persisted in calling me back, sometimes every day.

I signed up with the Do Not Call Registry in 2003.  Once someone signs up for the National Do Not Call Registry, it is illegal for telemarketers to call you.  Registry phone numbers DO NOT EXPIRE.  If they still want to call, they need your written consent.  I don't believe Mr Gialketsis got that particular memo.  If he did, he obviously doesn't care.

A couple of weeks ago I hung up on the man.  I'm still getting calls from GCI, but now there's no one there when I answer.  When I call back the number to complain, it rings and then a recorded message starts stating that this number is not in service.  GCI is still in service, their website is still operational, and their other phone number works.

I have NEVER done business with GCI, nor do would I ever consider doing business with them in the future.  They have no right to harass me continually by phone.  

Resolution Sought: I want GCI to stop calling and pay me 50.00 for each call I've received over the past year (as mandated by the do not call registry).  I could go back and request payment for calls received as far back as 2003.  I've also filed an official complaint against GCI via the Do Not Call registry, who will no doubt issue additional files and/or pull their telemarketing license.

I get calls from this number several times a week...How do they know my dad's name?  The only thing I can think of is they're using the white pages...but a number of people complaining about this company said they're unlisted, so that doesn't make any sense either...I think I'll report them to the Federal Do Not Call List agency, and see what happens.

Police won't do anything. Even in 1980s we were well known with the LA Police Dept, and still could nothing for harassment call. My number was advertised incorrectly for a prostitution ring and for a month it was hell waking up in the middle of the night. When I spoke to Verizon today about this jerk that calls all of us on this blog finally after asking for a manager she will research who they are and try to help all of us that he or they won't call us daily.

Today at 11:30 AM someone from this number called me. I did not wait for them to even speak, I saw their number on Caller ID and my phone announces from California not Gakos Construction. I blasted them and I heard a click.

Same here. They call, they hang up, I call back and there is no answer.

I heard for the same jerk on October 29th and October 31st 2012. It seems this company and whatever losers they can find to do their telemarketing have been badgering people since 2009 that is the year of the first posting about them. Yes, I called back the number to find out who they are to chew them out, which is dangerous as they think you might be interested in the remodeling your home services, and the message says the number is out of service. I am going to call Verizon and see what they can do, but I think like what the previous posters have reported the phone company refers you to the police. If it keeps up I will go that route to the police.

OK...we started getting these calls after I cancelled a free estimate and had to put a block on the phone number from a remodeling center. Each time I put a block on these numbers, there's another one to take it's place. HATE IT!!

The guy on the phone was rude and annoying, and acted like he and I had spoken previously about some home improvement job (which we had not). When I attempted to call the # back, similar to the above comments, it was disconnected.  And I cannot find the "company" through google or yahoo.

I get many calls from 714.657.7802 and just learned that I could google the number to find out more information.  It is so irritating!

I don't answer anymore.

been receiving calls and when i answer they hang up.  when i call back it says its disconnected.  very disturbing.

Just got a call from them this evening. A man was on the phone and asked for me by name. I asked him what he was selling and he said, "our prices are so low, we're practically giving it away." I told him that I'm on the Do Not Call list and he asked if I'd like to be added to theirs as well. I informed him the Do Not Call list is national, so I AM on their list. I told him to never call me again and he told me to "have a nice evening."

I just got a call from 714 657 7802. they don't leave a msg and when I call back it says the number is disconnected. Frustrating. I wonder if it's some kind of scam???

Just got a call from this number. Called me by name. When I said "Yes, this is me" he hung up.

i keep receiving calls. it says GCI or Galkos construction. They call and when i pick it up, they hang up. i picked it up last week and the guy was talking to some other guy in the background and i listened for a couple seconds then said Hello and the guy hung up right away. It has been going on for about 6 months at least now. I looked up the number online and it says its based in westminser or midway city and its a landline. Jerk Offs.

at least im not alone. . .i got 2 calls from this number today.so annoyed!

23Jun2009 1:23pm -- I (a 714 area code person)answered with a, "Hello?"  There was a two second pause, and then the sound of the disconnect -- like everyone else here that has reported.  I can see only two reasons someone would do this: One, nothing better to do, and no regard for the person called.  Two, collecting data.  --Maybe determining when is someone home, or...?  Perhaps this idiot has nothing better to do on their lunch hour.  By the way, I'm on the do not call registry, and my phone is unlisted, and my caller ID is blocked.  Pehaps this person is targeting that group of people?

I'm not suprised to see this is Galkos.  They are sneeky Bast***!  They need to stop this nonsense.  Calling everyday for the last three days.  The first day we answered and they asked for another person not even connected to the phone line. Obviously someone has sold some phone numbers.  I wonder....Home Depot or Sears or Kmart....seen Galkos at all three stores.

Okay, I just called "CJ" the General Manager listed on GCI's website. CJ is conveniently out of the office this week. I spoke with a nice lady named Carmen in Customer Service. I told her what was happening and that I wanted to be placed on their do not call list. She apologized and explained that the telemarketing system is programmed to disconnect the call after a certain number of rings, so the hang-ups are not intentional. My voicemail picks up after 4 rings, so I must have answered by the 2 or 3 ring. Oh well. I'm now on their do not call list.

im getting the same thing.  this morning it has been 6 times since 730 and it is not even 10am.  I have not called this number back I thought it was collection until I realized it was a 714 area code. im also on the do not call. most of you I have noticed have called the number back instantly and it states its been disconnected.  there is only one explanation for this.  they have a service called "google voice"  they can program our numbers so if we call back it will state "the number has been disconnected or is no longer in service".  google voice has a a lot of features and this is one of them.  I know this because I have had the service for a while...its a free service.
I have no clue why they are doing this, but there is obviously a reason behind it.  but go to "google voice" from owned by grandcentral  they do have a service for the disconnecting issue.

They're calling everyday again.  When we answer, they hang up.  Have already reported this company - Galkos Construction - to the FCC.  They just changed phone numbers and started again.  Contact local phone company, and told them that the answering machine says "out of service" when you call back.  Asked if they could have a caller-id from a number that was "out of service".  They said 'no' and told me to report the hang-ups as prank calls to the local police department.  Guess that will be our next attempt at getting them to stop.

Repeated calls from this number. When answered, no one is there. Call back, and the number is diconected.
