Prank Call
And Helen is still calling newly posted resumes on Careerbuilder. The first clew was, that she didn't leave a name of a company. Anyone representing a a real company, would have left the name.

Thanks everyone for posting. I'm in FL, looking to relocate back to CA. I'm also glad that I know better to Google #'s before calling them back.

I'm sorry that people in these times, have to be victimized by people like this.

Job seekers beware if you get a call from Helen White with WFG it's a fake blood sucker gal that it's located in Brea CA , she claims that her company will help you to get wealthy by selling insurance policies, the true is that first she invited you to a one on one interview and asked you to keep your mind open, in reality they want you to keep your wallet open after the interview and tell you that she thinks you are the right fit for WFG she invites you to their "open house" where they gave you personal stories of people that supposedly got rich by joining WFG after you are all brain washed she tells you that in order to join you have to paid $100.00 for a background check; I think you have a better chance of getting rich if instead you give these suckers your money you go and buy 100 lotto tickets, don't fall for this scam. I'm planing to reported them to a news channel to make sure general public is aware and don't fall victims if these scammers

No, the people on here are not "closed minded". They're savvy enough to not be defrauded.
You did get one thing close though. I like your 40/40/40 analogy. It's the application of it where you're wrong. It pertains to people in your line of work. It means that you work 40 hrs. a week, for about $4 an hour & hope to be making minimum wage by the time you're 40.

Everyone on here is so closed minded that all you will ever be is an employee. Organizations like these are the best oppurtunity for the right type of person, all the lazy people with employee mind set thinks they are scams! Lol "real job" you mean that 40/40/40 plan work 40 hours a week for the next 40 years to retire with 40% of what your currently living off of.... That is the biggest scam out there and that's getting a JOB!

I also updated my careerbuilder resume yesterday.  Every time I do, I get a call from World Financial or Transamerica for a commission only job.  Won't be calling Helen back any time soon!

Helen called and left message. I was cynical as I recently posted my profile on careerbuilders. As I have a  background in Sales, it seems that I have been a magnet for MLM agencies offering me a fantastic "opportunity". I was skeptical but elected to call her. She answered and explained that she is with World Financial that merged with Transamerica. "You know, the big pyramid building in San Francisco".
I replied, "Oh yeah, I know about "Pyramids" (lol)"
I stopped her and told her that I wasn't interested in a MLM structure and I have no background in the financial industry.

She said, "MLM as in Amway?".
I replied, "Yes, that is a classic example"
She replied, "we are more like a Real Estate broker > Real Estate agent relationship"
I said, "yeah...I'll pass"

Multi-level marketing scam company.

They will brig you to a meeting to join their scam with 90% of the "recruits" in the meeting being planted by them.

So phony these freak will smile and clap and try to convince the feeble-minded to join their mlm scam of ripping off your friends and family with crappy, overpriced "financial services".

You have been warned.

Got the same message from Helen this morning.
Did not give a company name, just wanted to discuss my resume which she saw on careerbuilder.
So I too did a check on the phone number to see what company she was calling from and ended up here.
Thank goodness everyone is sharing their experiences and I will not contact her!

Thank You all for the Heads up!

Yep. Helen. This is really annoying. I am going to see about reporting them to Career Builder. Preying on those in need of jobs is evil.

Got a call from this number today. Called back, went straight to voicemail, did not provide anything regarding company name, so I hung up. Somebody from World Financial tried to recruit me once, and they even interviewed my brother, saying they were going to charge him a $100 background check. If ever you hear about World Financial, stay away from them as far as employment goes, they are blood sucking leeches.

Got a call from Helen yesterday, googled the number and read all the posts. Every time I get a message I google because there are too many scams. Previous experience in law enforcement tells me to investigate first.

I posted my resume on Career Builder on Monday and received a message from Helen on Wednesday.  She left a message saying she was calling regarding my resume.  I called back only to get an answering machine.  I thought it was odd that there was no mention of the company on the answering machine, so I googled the number.  Thank you all for posting your experiences so that others can avoid falling for this scam.

Received a call & voice mail from Helen White, only a day after my son posted his resume on careerbuilder.com  .  Called her back in the evening, requesting location of possible job and the name of her compay (the number, after all, is a personal number - not a busines number).  She called back following day - it is World Financial, in Brea, CA.  Too far for my son, so I didn't pursue it.

World Financial is operated through independent (e.g. 1099, not w2) sales reps, in a multi-level fasion. I have nothing against companies that work that way (I do that myself, and it's been working great), but it should be real obvious from my son's resume that he's looking for administrative / clerical work, not sales.

Friday Oct 2nd 2009 10:56AM Received a call from 714 767-2580 regarding my resume.  Caller ID said "Helen White".  My husband answered but when I came to the phone, the lady had hung up.  I called back and reached a voice mail with a generic message.  I left a message, but hadn't heard back as of 5:00PM that day.

Received a phone message recording at 10:22 am on 5-21-2010 from an Ellen telling me that she was responding to my resume & that I could reach her at (714) 767-2580.    Reverse phone search shows this to be a cell number in Anaheim.
It is noted that yesterday I re-did my resume on both Monster.com & CareerBuilder.com.

robohica.  Thanks for posting your information for 909-229-1391.  I just received a message from Rochelle and will avoid the call knowing it is from World Financial Group.  I was contacted once before by the company and after researching, found they are crooks.  Nothing worst than companies trying to prey on those looking for work.
