i received a call from him on 15 feb 11 he is an employee of edd ui dept he has a raspy kinda voice louisiana style voice sorta kinda he did my assessment dtermination on overpmt of edd to me bcause  didnt knoe if i shoulda put ihss earnings thatwasnt really pd to me until late way after i didnt put it on edd forms.because  im takin care of my wife who has cancer and edd is chrging me back penalties of 1000. dollars for nothing.his name is steve greybeck he is an imtimidater like the words u described,i pity any one getting involved with him ,professionally that is.i will file one soon im appealing the decision in labor court i guess in pasadena,ca.typical state worker BUREAUCRAPT.TYVM FOR HEARING IF U CAN CONTACT ME GO AHEAD.rreicks@hotmail.com

An umemployment office calling to verify employment for someone that I've never heard of. He said I needed to call back within 48 hours..

This is the EDD.  They didn't leave a message.  I returned the call and got a recording referring me to contact them at their 800 number.

Yes, it is the EDD's number and it is a non-staffed number. My assumption is that the area code is used for local calling only to avoid any LD charges they may encompass when trying to contact someone as I am also located in the 714 area code. It's too bad they do not spend an extra few seconds and at least let you know what the call was regarding or if it was urgent or something..?

This can't be the unemployment Office because the number is from Anaheim, CA (714 area code) and the unemployment office is in Sacramento, CA (916 area code). I've also received calls from the unemployment office before and they always leave messages with a call back number.

This number is from EDD. I made a mistake on my claim form and they were calling to confirm whether it was a mistake or not. The lady I spoke to was very nice.
