I have been getting calls on my cellphone morning and evening for the last two weeks. Sometimes an automated recording invites me to press 1 or 2 to confirm (or not confirm) my name. Other times I am invited to enter a number which occasionally connects me with someone who wants personal details from me and gets annoyed if I ask questions back. I have called into a Bank of America branch office (Spring Hill FL) which I was driving past and their personal representative checked the caller number with the B of E security. They believe the whole thing is a scam, fraudulently using their identity and the bank's advice is not to answer the phone if you are called from 714-792-4000. You can of course file a Police Report too.

You are missing the point. NEVER give out personal information on a phone call you did not make. Bank loans, credit card, utilities, should always be called from the phone book, back of card, or paper statement. You cannot assume the person who called really is who they say. If you get a phone message, YOU call them & NOT from the number given by phone or email.

If you've got a loan with BoA, this is the number they call from to demand payment.  It's not fradulent or scammers.  It's a legit number through BoA.

Receive a computer generated call claiming to be Bank of America,after about 30 seconds a live person answers the call and says he has urgent information about your account and ask you to verify your personal information before telling you what the call is about. Beware it is some phone scammer trying to steal your identity.

I called Bank of America and complained and nothing happened. I am not a customer and I am getting these calls 3 times a day!!!

Rcvd recorded call, around the same time, today & yesterday. I called back, but recording indicates that I've reached a non-working # for Bank of America.

Got a call today. Hanged up and call BoA Privacy and Security. Talked to a live person. Said this is a fraudulant call

It is BoA.  It is legit, though they want private information.  It is their collections number.  You are behind on a BoA account (or they think you are anyway) and they want to be paid.

Same as above.  Recording identified my mother by name and asked for last 4 of social.  If it was legit, why the recording?  She hung up.

recorded call asking to verify social security number. Don't know past that because I hung up. Don't know if it's legitimate??

called to confirm my name & then wanted to SSN...as a victim of ID theft, I NEVER give out my SSN especially not to a recording..BE CAREFUL!

saying it is bank of america and wants last 4 digits of your ss #, I called BoA and they would never ask for your ss

whoever is calling wants pertinent information.

It's an auto dialer if you're behind on a B of A account. Called it back and someone answered. I told her the check is in the mail and was told they'd take me off the auto dialer.

I have been getting a call from the same #, caller id shows Bank of American, do not leave a message. I never had an account with them.

Send me a text message asking to call this number with "urgent" information about my Bank of America account. (I don't have one and sadly deleted it.)

They have now called two days in a row at 9 AM exactly and refused to leave messages.

I alerted BOA security, but who knows if that will do anything.

Got a call today. No message. Called back and they wanted ny SS number.

we get about  7 calls a day from this bank of america number,  the first time i called they wanted private info,  they just keep calling everyday several time a day,   we went to the  branch office and reported them and they still keep calling
