the person claimed the call was from David Brown legal service. He told me that I am suppost to go to court at 2pm today and claimed that I was being charged with check fraud. My uncle called to get more information but he kept hanging up on him.

I just got a call from an Edward Smith from this number saying if myself or an attorney did not return the call a case would unfold. I had this same situation happen to me in October of this year, getting threatened to be taken to court in California

Same thing happened to me. I got a phone call from 209-729-3821. They claimed that they're from David M. Harrison Legal services saying that I was charged with fraudulent and did not pay back the loan that I borrowed from American cash advance. They asked me if I wanted to resolve this with their client and pay the money, but I said I need some time to think about it and I asked for their number so I can call back and they give me this number 714-794-8397. I googled the number and found a bunch of reports on it. I did enter some information from some payday website but never got through with it, and ended up closing my checking account because there was some fraud check signed under my name. Now this happens, I guess they got my information from the websites. This is a big scam!! Hope this helps.

I have received calls from this number for months now. I have finally filed a complaint with the FTC. They are scammers. Whatever you don't give them the money they ask for especially if you know that you don't have a payday loan, online or otherwise.

I received a phone call from this number on 12/10/10 by a foreign guy name David Brown stating that I owed $506.00 for a past due payday loan. I didn't get any supporting documents to see if this was legitimate or not and they used a scare tactic saying that they were in the process of suing me.I never received any documents in mail informing me of an outstanding loan I had. Therefore, I ended up paying the $506.00 in full payment. On 1/18/11 I received a phone call from a Kelli Jones stating that I owed a payday loan to 1st U.S. Cash Advance in the amount of $350.00 and she also stated a couple of reference names that was listed on the application. I told her that I do not have an outstanding loan with that company and she needed to send me supporting documents. She agreed to send me the documents but I never received them. Now I realize that this people has scammed me out of my money. Being a single mother of twins and working hard trying to keep bills caught up is very hard. That money was my car payment money that I had to use and delay that payment. However, payment became delinquent due to making a payment to an illegitimate company that is scamming people.I will be contacting a Law Enforcement Ageny to tryan and handl this matter.  To all the people that was scammed we need to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else.

I got the same call, but the guy said that I was a reference for my brother and he hadn't paid them, so it was my responsibility to repay them.  I knew it was a scam from the start, so I started making fun of the guy. He called me a bunch of names and hung up.  I then repeatedly called them back and every time someone answered, I would tell them that this call was being traced, we knew it was a scam, etc.  I called them back every 5 minutes or so for over 2 hours!  They finally stopped answering the phone, so I did *67 then their # and the idiot answered on the first ring!  I got him to admit that it was a scam, and he asked me to please stop calling them!  I told him that if I was wasting his time, he wasn't getting to scam someone else. Maybe if we all did this, they would stop.

i have to been getting a call from them an have said the same thing u all have said i know it is a scam so hi have been calling back and fing with them i dont think they will call back for awhile

I totally got this call last week and am glad to have found this post. This is complete BS! I can't believe there are people out there that make up stuff just to prey on people. I'd be damned if they got a penny from me! I don't even have any outstanding pay day loans, those idiots! Anyways, beware and be careful everyone. Thanks for this post, my mind is more at ease.

"Thomas" called and left me a voicemail stating he is from David Harrison Legal Services. He said that attorney Joshua Phillips needs to speak with me. The number he called from and stated to call back is 714-794-8397. BEWARE! This is a scam and he is not nice at all! Apparently I have been charged with 3 counts of something and I am due in court who knows when. Kiss my behind scammer! He knew my email address, the last 4 digits of my SSN, my employer and work number, my cell phone number and name.

I did let him know that if I was being hit with a lawsuit, I would have received something BY PHYSICAL MAIL letting me know where I need to appear, NOT some stupid email that "I didn't respond to."

I have been getting these phone calls but I put a stop to it.The first time they called they told me  that I owed $400 from a loan that I never paid back.I told them that I did not know what they was talking about.I finally called the police and they told me to email the FBI and then I  told them that I knew that they was a scam and they quit calling for a month or so.Well,when I woke up this morning they called again and said that I had three criminal charges against me.I am pretty sure that I would know if I did something bad enough to go to jail for.This time they have my social security number and I have just about all I can take from them,I am pregnant and I do not want to deal with their stupid crap!

I got a call saying I would go to jail if I do not pay 1095 today I asked for a address they said they worked for David M. Harrison in Beverly Hills California. I called him but have not recieved a reply. Same story as the rest of the posts on this website.

I recieved a call from them today and was SO thankful to find this info on this site as I was so scared I was about to send them $760.  But I just knew that something was fishy about them and so I looked online and found this page.  Thanks so much, I can rest easy now.  I am a mother of 5 and to be threatened with jail time is horrifying.  Thanks again

I got a call from these guys months ago... told them I knew it was a scam and they hung up.  My husband called them back and they hung up.

Got a call again today, hung up on them.

They called my office -- my secretary phoned me to say that they called and said it was, "important I didn't ignore their call"

I called them back and again told them I knew it was a scam and then said, "I'm not an idiot" when I said that the man FREAKED out and said, "yes you are, you are an idiot a s**t a bi*** and a w***e" and hung up on me.

i too got a message from this number, statted that i was going to get arrested, loose my job etc.  just like everyone else.  they left a very threating message on my phone and that i know is very illegal

I get this call ALL the time on my cell.  This guy even swears at me.  I told him last week to call my lawyer tehn I hung up on him.  He promptly back and swore at me.  He's called me 4 times today alone the message he left on my voice mail was that he worked for Tony Gonzalez law firm and blah blah blah!!!  Always wtih threats of legal action against me.  This same guy calls me about my son,  he's called my son's job he even calls my daughter on her cell.  He is VERY nasty.  I know it's a scam because sometimes when I try to call the number that appears on my cell it won't go through.  The one time it did the same guy answered and when I asked him if he just called me he said no told me to "F" off then humg up on me.  I wish we could stop these people.  It is getting extermely difficult to deal with this crap.

Same thing happening to me.   I acted concerned and like I was willing to pay.  When I asked the date of the loan, they gave me a fake date of Oct 15, 2009.  I asked them where they were located so I could run a check to them and they stated in "my neighborhood".  I pushed for an address but was told that collection agencies could not reveal that information.  

This company did get into my bank account and I had to close all credit cards, bank accounts, and file identity theft.  They asked me why I closed my account and I told them because "they were scamming people and that I had filed a police report."  The caller then said some obscene words and hung up.

My mother was contacted today and was told that I would be sued and to give them a call back at this number for a Mr. Tony Gonzalez. I called and he told me that I was getting a subpeona for court tomorrow and that I had to pay 1,022.00 today to settle out of court today.

Just got a call on my job from this number stating that I have a federal case for unpaid loan in $500.00. They asked for my lawyer and couldn't give me detailed info abt the case.  They stated they sent me emails, no letter was sent to my home.  Glad I found this website!

I been receiving this call all day but I didn't answer cus I didn't recognize the number. They left the same message on my cell saying I would be arrested n that I or my attorney needed to contact them immediately.  I did a reverse look up n came across this site. Thanks for putting my mind at ease

THIS IS A BIG SCAM.....I RECEIVED SEVERAL CALLS FROM THEM EXACTLY HOW YR POST IS WRITTEN, SO I FINALLY CALLED THEM BACK, TOLD THEM OFF AND TOLD EM TO NEVER CALL AGAIN, THEN I GOGGLED THE NUMBER THAT CAME UP AND CAME ACROOS THIS SITE, YOUR POST COULD NOT BE MORE CORRECT. I DID, HOWEVER APPLY FOR ONE LOAN ONLINE DURING HARDTIMES, BUT NEVER WENT THROUGH WITH IT, BECAUSE THEY WANTED LIKE 3 XS THE AMOUNT IN PAYBACK

Received a call on my cell and also at work telling me there was criminal charges against me and if I did not confirm certain information I would be arrested at my place of employment tomorrow.  SCAM!!!

hey same thing happened to me but i found this web page that helped a lot stating the same kind of message i got on my phone, heres the content on the message, hope it helps you out..

"Hey...... these people calling from INDIA, CHINA and other countries. where many many call centers are running for getting money from

USA and UK citizens... ITS ALL SCAM... for running there business.

How it runs..........

(A.) some people tries to get loan online on fack sites but could not succeed and their detail reached to this types of site owners.

(B.) Some people really took loans and could not paid it back. so your information is provided to that call centers.

SO what actually they (Call Centers) do...

1. First they get all your detail from banks and some crooks. include: your name, social security number, address, employment detail, 2

refrences and a detail of any lumsum amount between 100$ to 300$.

2. they have USA UK number for their own (only for displaying).. they calls through various softwares (like: icall) by using headphones.

3. They makes a write up for leaving msg. like:-
"this message is intended for Mr. john.  john the very second you receive this msg i need

you or your retained attorney to call me back. the issue at hand is extremely time sensetive. my name is ..........., and i am calling from

financial accountability association, my call back no. is 123456789, i am repeating this for you john 123456789, john don't disregard

this msg and call me on my number back. if i don't get any call from you or from your attorney........ wish you good luck,
take care"

4. If you pick up phones... they threatens you by saying... that federal govt is falling lawsuit against you and your social security number.
and try to remembrazed you that you took a pay day loan and never paid it back...They knows that you people living on loans itself, so it is very easy to threaten you that such company falling lawsuit against you for your unpaid loan( which actually not that loan which you took before)
They usually ask for the amount more than they get in their list like.... near by 1245$ or according to clients voice (afraid or nervous)

5. they can tell u that they have sent u various mails to inform you but u never replied.

how to avoid them...

1. Say that you have an attorney. ( they can ask bankruptcy or criminal attorney) if u tell criminal they will say it won't work and ask for bankruptcy attorney. if you say bankruptcy they will say it won't work and ask for criminal attorney. give any number by saying "call to my attorney" they won't call.
2. Say that u know : Its ALL SCAM .......... they will hung up.
3. say that that is not my social security number... they will never call.
4. Ask for date of the loan taken...... they can't help you or can give u any fack date.( by which u can come to know about scam)
