Received a call from Californa about a $90 check they sent for reimbursement of car rental from 13 years ago.  A woman  with AAA insurance had smashed in the side of my wife's car.  They had already sent out the checks for the repair and most of the rental.  She wanted to know if she wanted it reissued - if not AAA would have to turn it over to the State Unclaimed Funds account. My wife called back and AAA sent out a new check.  The nnumber AAA gave us to call back was different - direct line to the person who called.  The 5111 number must be a central phone number. It is definitely AAA.  

I'm not sure, but i think the number was spoofed. Yesterday, my parents answered that call because my dad is a member with AAA, & they thought it was really the auto club. They said that his membership was expired & needed to be renewed, (if i recall, he recently did that already) and they wanted his credit card number to start the process or for verification purposes, im not sure. And he said that he never ever EVER used his card for that, he always pay in cash he said, & out of nowhere there attitude changed & they said they were with immigration and threatened to deport them if they don't pay them money. There were U.S. Citizens for crying out loud! So my parents just hung up & that was that.

Best advice i can give, If you get telemarketing calls signup for:
-Do Not Call list,
-Nomorobo,
-Or get a voip phone service like google voice, ooma, skype or vonage (you can block as many numbers as you like)

If you don't get any telemarketing calls:
-DONT put your number on any document, paperwork or a contest (that's one way they get you) unless if its really important & absolutely necessary
-Get your number unlisted

if u no long have, or still do have , u have  placed your number on their and nation wide  do not call list.  but still receive calls from AAA u can file federal charges on to them in ur city court

contact ur phone company place trace on ur  line u can file federal harrassment  charges  on who is doing calls to U

AAA member.  I too recieved  calls from 714-850-5111..I replyed hello four time..no responce,  I then called AAA spoke with an agent(who seemed surprised..To make matters worse...Information @ 411 gave me 2 former # for AAA both no longer in service.  Also when the calls rang in ...my id reflected AAA Auto Club.

Just reminding me my membership had expired a few days ago.

This number has called me 2 days in a row.  When I answer no one replies and they disconnect the call within seconds.

I got a voicemail from this number that says "Diego? Diego?" weird. I am not Diego.

I got a call on Thursday (3/21) from this number, I answered and no one said anything so I hung up. About 10 seconds later my phone rang again displaying this number: (877) 428-2277. It was a lady saying she was from AAA, she said she was calling to give me more information about teen driving, but when I said there are no teens living in my house she said "Ok. Thanks. Have a nice weekend!"

She was nice, but it was a weird call.

AAA - Left message regarding my renters insurance that expired and they wanted to know if I wanted to renew it.  Doubtful that it's a scam.  Only looked it up because I was on the computer and the voicemail took awhile to get through so I figured it might have been another spam call.

It's AAA (Automobile Club of Southern California). I haven't renewed my membership yet, so they just called.

It is AAA's generic number for every outbound call generated from the corporate office in Costa Mesa, CA. it can range from calling about your membership renewal, to calling about insurance.

I picked up the phone and I said, "Hello" and nobody answered. I said, "Who's there?" and nobody answered. I waited a while and then I hear this long drawn out faint hello and then she hangs up. I looked at caller ID and it says AAA Auto Club. Yet, I can find no link to verify that this is a AAA number. The call type is a Land Line  with an optional Mobile listing? (weird) (perhaps it's just a second location in the building), licensed from Pacific Bell aka AT&T. Origination of call for Land Line is in the Orange County area for California, city is Santa Ana, old towne district. Tower switch:SNANCA11DS1. Being that the phone can be spoofed I do not know what to believe. I tiried to reverse lookup and that's how I came across all this information; yet, the sites want money for more information. I later was recieving an incoming call that I opted to wait for the caller ID to come in to see if it was the same number. No number came in so I didn't answer. Calls such as this missing ID never appearing are always telemarketer and I no longer answer them.

I'm curious if that's the only reason you don't like them. I just got a new policy and now I'm concerned.

It was just AAA underwriting caling to confirm the information on my new policy. The call took less than 2 minutes to answer the questions.

Just got a call from that number 714-850-5111.  It was triple AAA just thanking me for my recent payment. I don't have triple-AAA insurance. I'm just a plus member and I made a payment two days ago.

Just a courtesy call. Weird.

Yep, it's AAA.  In my case it was a woman from the insurance department calling to verify some items on my policy.

AAA sucks. Worst insurance company EVER.  They charge $102. for roadside assistance; when most insurance companies charge $26. for the same thing!  Nasty, nasty people to strive to get anything accomplished with. Finally met a woman out of CA, who worked for AAA and after hearing my story, she read the comments on my account and was thoroughly disgusted with her own employer.

I also received a call from this number looking for my room mate who gave me his phone number. I told her that my room mate had a different number but that if she could tell me what the call was regarding I would forward him the number - and she promptly hung up on me.

How dare I ask questions to AAA!

Upon calling the number back I got a generic recording that it was AAA before it too cut me off.

just got a call from 714-850-5111 too. ignored it. they didn't leave a message. yes, i'm a AAA member and have their insurance... this is the first time that I would see them call me from this number though

So Cal Auto Club (AAA) called following renewal mileage survey in response to notation I had made on survey form.

The caller said my AAA membership expired and asked for my credit card information. I did not give him the info and told him that I will call back. Not sure if it is real.

Received a call from AAA this morning but I didn't recognized the number even though caller ID said AAA AUTO CLUB (I figured it was fake) and there was no voice message.  The number had no area code, just 850-5111.  After 30 seconds of research I found it was in the 714 area code.  They were calling because I still had membership (I haven't had insurance with them for a while) and it was going to lapse in 60 days.
