I received a phone call from a restricted number.  I never answer calls from restricted numbers so it went to voicemail.  On the voicemail, this woman named Danielle Wright says that I will be served over the next 2 days and need to be at home between 12pm - 5pm and have two forms of ID and that if I am not there she will come to my job.  The phone number she gave was 884-3375 no area code and she called me by my maiden name.

Here's the thing. She didn't state what it was about just gave a fake case number and stated that it was a court case out of Sacramento County  .Also, they used my maiden name, which I have been married for over three years now.  I called it with no AREA CODE to see if it was a local number, the person that answered the phone didn't know what I was talking about.

Obviously this is a scam.  If you get a call from this number/name, report it to your local police to open an full investigation.  I have also contact the FTC, hopefully these people won't be able to hurt anyone else.

I just received a summons at my job from these people.  Security wouldn't let the process server in so they waited in the parking lot for me.  They gave me this number 714 882-3477and it was some law office that gives out very little info.  So that because I received a summons I'd have to wait for court to get any info.  Should I show up on my own or should I get an attorney?  Please help.

These people call regarding debts that have been charged off.  In most if not all cases the statute of limitations have run out, but they still try to get some money from you.  They bought your debt for pennies on the dollar.
Check your state for the actual statute of limitations.  Even if you pay back the debt it does not come off your credit report if the statute of limitaions have run out to collect the debt.
It will fall off your credit report after 7yrs.

this robert sterling has been calling me to about credit card debt, i asked for them to send me a letter saying what i owed but had not recieved one. the credit card is mine and showing on my credit but the amount he saying i owe is way way more than what my credit report says! and i do remember talking to him but don't recall the payments he said i agreed to, so he gets smart with me and says we are being recorded and to keep my CHUMP CHANGE and their going to file suit.!!!

I am repeatedly getting calls at my job.  I have asked them repeatedly not to call me on my job on either of my numbers.  They will not give me an address so I can put it in writing.  So how do I dispute something that I do not know what it is or where they are coming from or an address to put the information in writing.  They say I got a summons to appear in court and that I have 2 hours to contact these people.  That has got to be away to stop this.  It is totally harrassing and should be against the UCC if it is not already.  I am doing further research to see what can be done.  I have contact my police depart on these types of cyber crimes and I have even contact the FBI who they also included in the conversation.  Nothing happened and no results or consequences.  I have lost thousands of dollars and have learned a lesson very well.  I am almost to the point of bring it on.  I am tired of this happening and I know that it is to be in writing but how do you put something in writing when you do not have an address. Person's name is James Jordon who is a process server of some sort and I am to call Robert Sterling at 714-882-3477 within 2 hours.

If they really want money they would send me proof that i owed it to them, and they would not go off on me they called me several different names they have been harrassing me for over a month now they told me i had court the other day but i called the courthouse to see and there was nothing i tried to get an address from them and they told me no and asked why i wanted it and i told them my lawyer told me to try and get it from them so i can press charges they started to scream at me and told me my lawyer was stupid and to tell her to shut up and he kept screaming at me cause i told him what they were doing was illegal so if you know the address to there or anything legit that i can give to my lawyer the police dept and to put on the papers that i have at the house that ihave to send to the attorney generals office i would like it. They told me they couldnt give me any info on them cause they dont know who iam for all they know i could be a terroist and then he played a song called b****h to me  and hung up so i doubt they are legit and if they are well then they really messed up. Oh and they have been telling me they have sent me papers for court but i gave them the wrong address not they have the right one because i almost sent them the money they wanted until i was advised not to by my lawyer she said to ask them to send proof of my debt which they can not do which by law they have to cause i have a right to see it if they could not send me anything then dont send them money until they do and if they ever do i will be pressing charges.

Your comment is very misleading: 1.  If you owe a debt you have a moral obligation to pay it back... 2. If you owe a debt you have a legal obligation to pay if off... If not handled with in 7 years its removed.  Make sure that you receive a letter from any law office, court, or debt collector and forward that to amend your credit...
Remember- this is the internet, the majority of people on here are disgruntled... rarely will you hear someone who pays the debt jump on here to sing praises...

This attorney is hired by LAR, who is the collection company in charge of your old debt, and they mean business! Unfortunate situations happen to us all, and if you call and speak to them they will work with you. Mr. Sterling is indeed a very real person, because the luck of the angels on my side got through his arrogant assistant directly to him and he is really a kind and understanding man. I do advise if you are going to fight them, you better have a paper trail of proof in your favor ready to go!

They have called my work and told my employees that iam being sued and need to call them in 24 hours they called my cell and told me i gave them a false address and i have court at 3 i called the clerks office and i dont have court in the county i live in, they said if i dont show up i will be charged with failure to appear. I talked to them a couple weeks before and they told me they outsoucred all my files to a lawyer closer to my area but now they call me back and say i have court they refuse to send me copies of any type of paperwork saying that i owe money and nobody there can give me an address cause they dont know and dont work at that building all of this sounds like lies to me anyone else have any ideas??

I received a phone call from a blocked number.  I never answer calls from blocked numbers so it went to voicemail.  On the voicemail, this guy says that I have 24 hours to return the call to Robert Sterling in reference to my old property and my new property.  He stated that if I did not call back within 24 hours, any decision made on the properties will be final.

Here's the thing.  My old property is fully paid for, and not even in my name.  My current property is an apartment complex, therefore nobody can use it against me.  Also, they used my maiden name, which I have been married for over two years now, and living in this apartment for less than that.  If they really wanted to do something to me, they would know that my married name is on the lease of this apartment, and that my name is not on documentation of my old property anymore.  

When I called and demanded to speak to someone immediately about it (Robert Sterling was "in court at that time"), the lady on the other end said "are you an only child that you think you deserve special consideration in speaking with someone immediately?  Are you that much of a loser that you call me up and demand this?"  That right there was enough to tell me that this whole thing is a load of BS.  Anyone that is in any type of legal profession would never speak to someone like this, and they would provide the information requested at the drop of a dime.

Obviously this is a scam.  If you get a call from this number/name, report it to your local police to open an full investigation and have it sent to Fullerton, CA police department.  I have done so, and if we get more people to do this, hopefully these people won't be able to hurt anyone else.

these people are out of their minds they got a wage garnishment against me had an attorney he didn't do s*it for me they are taking almost half my check after taxes 25% more like 50% because they take this before taxes the attorney stood there and charged me 1200.00 and now i got a judgement for 5400.00 i don't get it i thought hire an attorney they would do something for me they didn't do sh*t now i am broke and working for them i am over it i am quitting my job and collecting not getting up and going to work for these attorneys to get richer while they hold me down

I'd also like to know what became of anyone elses business with them. I received a call today about scheduling to have documents served.  After some research, the 'law office' and 'process servers' are located in CA.  I'm in MI.  How is that going to work?

DONT fall for it, FIGHT IT!!   you have the right to stand up to these people and every right to question them and obtain info from them as per federal law.  If u dont know your rights learn your rights its your obligation to your self to protect U!! just remeber these people use the web to obtain information about u. use it against them.

this is a scam, these people as well that post on these site saying they got sued by them are all part the scam as well. i have gotten the same call at work they think there clever but there really dumb for one there practice is not licence by the state of CA nor any of the names they give are even in the CA bar. i have report these failures to my local police and fbi office aswell as my work will be launching a investigation on the phone number they used to call me...i would adv for all your sakes do not provide any information to these people if u feel the need to call them "and can actually get a hold of them" to obtain address, a number as to them being able to perform law practice in the state of CA. and my adv is any all info u get from these people be given to your local fbi office as well as general attorneys office for your respected state. as well to prevent this from happening i will be removing all information about me off the web. these people use phishing to jock thru every bit of data on u via the web...these also include facebook, match.com, myspace.com bassicaly any social network or gov. post  info on u as a individual.

I just received a call from someone telling me they were coming to deliver a summons to be and wanted to know if I would be home, however when I asked if he was coming today he said no he would be coming Monday btwn 12p and 3p. From the ppl that i have know that have been summoned to go to court I've never heard of them being contacted prior to being summoned. The guy who called, called from a blocked # and then gave me a phone # of 714-982-9634 Collen and Associates with a Lawyer by the name of Matthew Loyd when i called they stated that this was over a credit card I had in 2007 and they were sewing me however I am in the process of claiming Bankruptcy and don't know how they are leagaly able to even be contacting me even if this isn't a scam because once you file it puts a hold on all of your debtors. I contacted my lawyer and gave them this companies info and he is suppose to look into it. I just wanted to do some research myself and found the website and then went to the californina state bar website and tried to look up this lawyer Matthew Loyd and there is no such lawyer in the state of CA, so IDK..... Has anyone ever actually been summoned????????

I received the same phone call from a blocked number today stating I needed to call this same Attorney Robert Sterling 714-888-6886.  I called the number and got a voice mail.  I work in law enforcement and I will not be taken by these bogus companies.  I will await their phone call and I think they may be a little surprised when they talk to me!

I just received a call form 714 982-9634 re: a civil complaint being filed against me when I called the number back the recording said it was Cohen & Associates Law Offices - Legal Support Services. How do I know if this is a legitimize call? Every time I call back its always a recording. I'm assuming it is not real however this is the third time they have contacted me regarding this claim. They are saying that I will be summon by court order. They even had the address to my daughter. This is just to creepy.

They also operate from 714-888-6886. These guys most likley purchase old debt and try to scare people into paying it to avoid phoney summons. I have yet to see anyone actually served, only a couple planted post on similiar blogs. I spoke to someone who claimed to be Cohen and he gave me an address of 407 West Imperial Highway in Brea, Ca. and a suite number. There is a UPS store there with post office boxes so I'm sure there is no physical address. There are no businesses licenses in the name of Legal Support Services or Cohen and Associates. There is no Robert Streling. Tell them you will accept service of process at work. It's part of their embarrassment ploy. You can't be sued without proper service. It's a law.

Where is their office located and where do you live? If they are threatening to sue you and they are in a completely different state it is most definitely against the law for them to make these threats because they can't sue you if they don't have a law office in the same state you live in. File a complaint with the FTC if they aren't in your state- https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ . It is illegal for them to make threats to you without it actually being true. They have to serve you with Legal documents and you would probably get a series of collection notices from a law office before you would get a summons-unless they have the wrong address on file and you never received the letters. They usually give you plenty of time to forewarn you before you get the actual summons. These guys are definitely shady.

All~ please look up the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act at www.ftc.gov and you will soon find out that these scam artists are trying to get money from you that you probably don't even owe. Just reading these posts I can tell you that this place doesn't even exist. I'm glad that you all were smart enough to call your courthouses and look up the attorney's name in the CA Bar Association website. When you have a court date, you get a SUMMONS weeks in advance. They cannot just call you and say you've got a court date. There has to be proof that you have been located and served before they will schedule a hearing. And as far as being arrested, you cannot be charged with criminal charges for unpaid loans or credit cards. Could you imagine how many people would be in jail if this were the case? I would suggest googling the information you have and looking at all of the results, not just the first one that comes up. I have had someone calling me and I have found where they are by researching ALL of the posts I've found on them. Little bits of info all come together and make sense. We need to stop these people from scamming anyone else, especially those who would buy into their tactics.
