I got a msg from them too. You can turn off txt msgs entirely, but there's no way i know of to block non-phonebook msgs. Talk to your cell phone carrier and keep a list of any spammers, see if there's a way to report through them, or get refunded.  Also put your cell number on the do not call list.

Put your number on the No Call List.  It may take a little time for the telemarketersth update their lists.

I received a message from this number as well, asking that I reply YES to receive information about consolidating credit card debt above $10,000. I contacted AT&T to see if the number could be blocked. The CSR was very helpful, taking down the message specifics. Apparently AT&T has an internal procedure for eventually blocking the originator. Initially I was pressed to add a service that allows me to block up to 50 numbers but after pressing her on the issue she indicated that AT&T has what is referred to as a "mobility abuse" process they can follow. I'm not sure if it will ultimately work but if enough people call their carriers, perhaps it will be something anyone can access easily.

Contact you phone carrier and ask them to initiate a mobility abuse case on your behalf. They also may be able to block the number for you. Since you do not have a text message plan, perhaps you can have them disable receipt of text messages completely. You definitely should not be charged for SPAM when you don't even have a text plan.

Your phone need to be registered a priori with the national do-not-call registry. Assuming this is the case, go here:

and file a complaint. No telling what/if the feds will do what they're supposed to, but check it out.
