I received a call from a Mr. Hernandez, back in Feb of this year and pulled the same tactics. I was foolish enough to make the payments only to be told by the bank Manager that the account they had me paying into was closed for fraudulent activity. $500 lost. A lesson well learned. Now they are back at it under a new phone number 714 530 9400 and 888 956 8338 and he is calling himself Mr. Soto. these people are aggressive and now they are calling my cell phone and work number. I filed a police report with my local police department. Now I'm going to take it even further contact my local news channel and put this out there. These are some serious scammers

these people said they were pressing fraud charges.. they are a collection agency and nothing more..they should be arrested for harassment

Got a call from this number too. Mr. Garcia left a message sounding like he represents Orange County: "contacting you out of County of Orange."

By the way, I see Mr. Hernandez is on this site to checking up on the people that have exposed his shady tactics to collect a debt. I have no problem paying my debts that i owe, but dnt call me and threaten my family and livelyhood saying that im gonna go to jail and lose my job. Yes a report has been made to the OC District Attorney's Office and the BBB. What type of company is this??? And why are they still being allowed to do this?

Wow!!!!!!!!! Same thing here.  I get a letter saying i have ten days to respond. Then i get a call from the one and only Mr. Hernandez saying there is a fraud case against me from 2007 for my bank account being overdrawn. He said he got  my phone number from the FBI, and I have until Friday to pay my debt or the Sheirff's will come to my house and serve me papers and i would have to make a 3 day court apperence in LA County, and i could spend up to 45 days in jail. I was not read any MINI MIRANDA rights saying this was an attempt to collect a debt. He then tried to say he can take a post dated check and tell my bank (who he had on the other line) that the debt was paid and to dismiss all charges. He said i could not make a payment arrangement and that the only payment arrangements that can be made would be after a court apperence or jail time. I was at the grocery store so he took my debit card number and said to call him back with my check number. I then researced and found this site. YES!!!!!!! I knew something was funny-style about this dude and this phone call. Should i call and cancel my debit card. I plan on paying my debt, but what should i do about this guy?

I I GOT ONE OF THESE CALLS AND HE TOLD ME TO CALL 8889568338. HE TOLD ME EVERYTHING THAT EVERYONE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED. BUT WHAT GOT ME WAS WHEN I TOLDHIM THAT I RECOGNIZE THE DEBT THAT I OWED AND I TOLD HIM THAT I WAS GOING TO PAY ON A CERTAIN DATE. I TOLD MR. HERNANDEZ THAT I WAS GOING TO RECEIVE A LUMP SOME OF MONEY, HE TOLD ME AFTER I GET THE MONEY THAT HE WOULD TRY TO MAKE ME HIS GIRLFRIEND. THEN AFTER THAT HE TOLD ME THAT HE WOULD CONSOLIDATE MY DEBT FOR 100 PER DEBT THAT I OWED. SO A INVESTIGATOR, DEBT COLLECTOR, AND A DEBT CONSOLIDATER. WHATS NEXT?  ON TOP OF THAT HE DIDNT EVEN KNOW IF THAT WAS REALLY ME AND HE WAS GIVING AWAY ALL OF MY INFORMATION. THE SCHOOL I WENT TO WHERE I LIVE ETC. I FELT SOMETHING WAS WRONG SO I GOOGLED THE NUMBER AND FOUND THIS.

I have always tried paying my bills on time. And found out that this was something that I and my wife let slip through the cracks. It was a simple process. I wasn't harassed or anything. It was actually quite professional. They provided me the information that was needed and options to resolve it. I take our credit and our financial situation very seriously and work very hard to maintain it. If I owe something, I just make sure to pay it. If we come to a situation that we miscalculated and can not afford to repay it on the terms agreed upon, I have found that communicating it is teh best answer to resolve it. At the end of the day, it doesn't effect them in any way. It will only effect me and my family.

Mr Hernandez is claiming tobe a DA for  federal courts and telling people his going to have them arrested with the local law enforcement,what him the right to abuse the courts name ..he shoud be punished.

I am so glad that I went on here to check the status on this company. I too received a call from Mr Hernandez and he said that I owed this money from way back when, I knew I owed this money but I didnt think he would call me back in this manner, but I did something to him that many of the people on here commenting on him didn't do, I switched the role, I advised him that when he called me that he had no right to threaten me or even disclose any information to me. I did not get a MINI MIRANDA, i was a collector for many years, and as a collector they need to disclose to you the MINI MIRANDA advising you of your rights and the nature of the call. So the next time you get a collector call make sure the first words they say start like this and if they dont hang up the phone...."This is an attempt to collect a debt any information obtained will be used for that purpose.......I am reporting them right now. Thanks for everyone's help.

Thanks for the info everyone...I recieved a letter from this company...was kinda wondering at first if someone is going to send me a letter demanding to pay in 10 days (from US department of civil claim)..they would have had the mind to at least put down wth I am paying for? who is the original creditor?  Went on here, read the post...so I call the company back...there it is..Mr. Hernandez answer...ask me if i know where OC is...saying that the sheriff will serve me paper...and i will have to go to trial in OC??? What kinda crap is that? Lol, I've dealt with a lot of debt collector but this is the first..it's kinda funny...He actually said exactly the same thing like everyone has posted here...Anyway...the debt is valid...so i guess i'll pay the settlement..get it out of my hair...but i'm going to file a complain because he just approach me with making stupid threats...

Same thing here, they told me a sheriff was gonna serve me papers if i didnt pay some outa court settlement?? did you pay them, if not what happend??

I also recieved the same info abiout being threatend to be arrested. Here is what you do:
Call the Orange county District Atty's office Fraud division and make a complaint
Call the BBB at 1-800-952-5210
The Us Attorney at 1800-952-5225
and The Trade Commision.

Just so that you are aware. The debt that they tried to collect was an account closed due to fraud, therefore I was not responsible for the debt.

Thank you so much for your investigative skills!!!!! I made my complaint today.  I also called Orange County DA and complained. They are looking into it as well, so Mr. Hernandez may be the one being arrested by Orange County SO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you owe something, PAY IT. Then you will not have anything to complain about. If each person on here paid what they owed, they would not be looking for an avenue or an outlet to place the blame because of their own action or lack of action.

These guys are so bogus Mr.  Hernandez called and said to me that he was going to have me put into jail for 45 days if I didn't pay this debt that I owed.  I was totally pissed off when I recieved this letter in the mail stating that I had only 10 days to respond to these guys.  They have an F rating with the BBB.  We need to report these people to the authorities in their local area.

Yes, very funny! Mr. Garcia, calls & tells my roommate that i have a case pending in orange county & to call him right away! & im like what? ive never even been to Or Co. so.... Google helps. I went through or co courthouse records & theres nothing that matches the case number he left! LIAR. who does he think he is!

yes i also received a call from this number, from a Mr. Hernandez stating that he was from Orange Co. and He mention that there was a debt that I owed in 06 which is true, but before he got to me he called around to my family and mention that he was a FEDERAL INVESTIGATOR!!!!WT!! and put my buisness out there to my family, until he reached me and spoke to me and he mention what it was about and thats when he mention that if i didnt pay this CIVIL debt ...i can go to jail for 45 days for not paying this debt, so im not comfortable with this which lead me to google this address that was provided to me from him and I saw all the above comments, now i do not trust them to give money to them!!and they do approach ppl in a agressive way..very unprofessional.

I am totally going to report them right now! They left a voicemail on someone?s voicemail which obviously is NOT my number and saying that he is Investigator Garcia calling on behalf of Orange County and the sheriffs are preceding paperwork against me! WHAT?! To top it off when the person he left a voicemail for called the number back and said that he was my "fiancé" this "Investigator Garcia" went ahead and disclosed my information along with previous addresses! Who do these people or collection agency workers think they are?! They definitely need formal training and implement new "collection tactics"!! These people don't even answer the phone professionally stating the company.

These people called *my Neighbor* to ask about me.  Pretended to be the "County of Orange Dept. of Civil Claims."  I don't owe any debts, and they have no business calling my neighbor.

Ok.. so I have started the investigation process against this company with the Federal Trades Commission.1-877-382-4357..they need more complaintents (sp)...so please file any if you have problems with this company trying to pass themselves off as detectives for Orange county etc..
