I got a call said his name was offer James Parker said I had Don a crime. They need to get the SOAB.

Yes this is a scam - Max Wilson called me - I asked him pointed questions - hu hung up on me.

I have reported it to the RCMP.

I got a message on my answering machine by Officer Jim Parker from Crime Investigation Unit. Phone #717-685-2487. Called this morning and he went through the charges saying I have not paid taxes to IRS, so filing legal case saying I can settle out of court or I will be arrested and stripped of Citizenship.  Scamster of the first order. I will be reporting to FBI and hope they can chase and arrest these scamsters down in India or wherever they are. He seems to be an ex call center person with a put on accent. I have got the conversation taped and will provide it to the FBI.

I got a call from Jim Parker with Crime Investigation Unit. Phone (717)-685-2487. Same story as above. that I have a list of cases against me and I need to call him back otherwise he will start legal proceedings against me. The accent was heavily Indian.

I called back and some filipino girl answered. She asked me for my name. I didn't reply and instead asked her for who they are. I could hear people working the phones in both the VM as well as when the filipino girl answered. After that they stopped responding to my calls.

I am going to report this matter to FBI.

I had been receiving several voice mails and each time a different person leaves his name and a threatening message that legal action would be taken if I do not call back. Fortunately I looked up the phone number and found all these messages from different people who were facing similar situation. There has to be some way to stop these people from harassing us.

The Same thing happened to me today. Two people claiming IRS agents threatened to arrest us if we do not comply with them. I reported this incidence to police.

I received a similar phone call from 716-201-4675. They did not get to the money part because I kept asking about the alleged crime they were going to make an arrest on. When I called up my husband on the 2nd line , they hung up. I reported the number to our local police and they said this was a scam.
Calling them back as Interpol officers sounds like a good idea!

@H, Do not give out personal information. These people are scammers. They want your credit card numbers. These people call indian people thinking they would give out information because Indians are "vulnerable." Do not fall into their trap and become a victim.

I received a scam call from 7162014675 about some crime investigation issue. If i didn't cooperate they can arrest me. Please don't give any personal information. I tried calling back but it eas busy signal.

I got similar calls in last two days one from tel # 412 203 0114 named her self Officer Crystal Brown & second
from #716 201 4675 named as officer John Wright both persons kept a message on my home phone number that they are calling from crime investigations department as they have received three legal crime charges against me and my Identity is under investigations. And asked me to call back on 646 517 0114
When I called back to that number & asked for officer Crystal brown the person who attended the phone said that she has already left for the day when I asked him about the message she kept on phone , he said that this is because I have not paid some taxes to IRS so I have to cooperate with him or there will be a police arrest within an hour time. At that point I understood that this is a scam.i talked to my son about this & he immediately found from this forum that this is a scam. Next day I gave all these phone numbers to my neighbor police officer & he also confirmed that it is scam & they are targeting Indians.

I have state taxes owed for $1,986 and should pay right away by phone otherwise the FBI will come and arrest me in half hour

I got call from 1-706-201-4675, John Smith. I am in big troble that three serious commited crimes & had evaded Taxes of $3800. If I not paid, thay will arrest me with in 1/2 hours. Also thay cancelled my Passport and Citizenship too, Thay take me in court & fine me $70000 other wise I get jail ---- & so on.
This is a very upsetting exprience for me. I call local Police Department & file report

Strange it is that such people are still operating and they are not yet exposed to law.
Like this, other phone numbers such as the ones that are mentioned in fake employment offers (starting with +44, a UK number) also belongs to scammers. It is best not to reply/listen to such b*****ds and report those numbers to relevant authorities as I have reported to some of the original employers.

Got two messages on my voice mail saying the same thing (similar to what has already been posted in other messages above). I knew it was scam since Law Enforcement does not call and leave messages like that, and also, on both occasions, these were guys with Indian accent. Out of curiosity, I called the number back, and of course it was an Indian guy. I asked him what 'State Investigation' they were, and I told him that they were scams. Then this guy got a bit aggressive saying 'do you know who you are calling' or something like that. I told him that in genuine cases I would have received formal letters. Anyway, when he started asking for more information, I told him that I will wait for an official letter from him and hung up.

I was more curious about their method; how would they ask for money, etc, but could not quite get there.

Got a call today, my wife responded, he started talking about me committing a crime, he was Indian with fake american accent, my wife just hung up on him.

Got the call April 2. Thought it was a April fools joke (though one day late). Heavy gujrati accent, thought will call them back and say that I was from Interpol and will get them arrested in India, however, phone seems to be disconnected now.

I received these twice in within last week and seems exactly same msg. Once they left on voice mail so called them back to know.  I have complained to our state attorney office as well and all should so hopefully other will stop getting in this trouble.

I got the similar call this morning and they left a message. I never pick up phone without knowing who is calling. As soon as I heard the message, I had a hunch this is a scam. I got online and checked the phone number and found this post. Remember this, if any law enforcement agency has a problem with you, they will usually pay you a visit in person. Very rarely will they make such a call.

So sorry whoever has to go through this it really through me for a loop for a few hours this morning and I got so scared and frightened and I'm sure my blood pressure was over the roof and I was home alone.

I got a call from this number 716 201 4675  Lockport NY saying it was from crime investigation department and I was in legal trouble. First a lady came on line with a strange accent and asked me if I had been contacted by the local police.Then someone called "Officer Mike Johnson" again strange accent. He said he would read out the affidavit and the conversation was recorded and not to interrupt him. He said it was National Bureau of Crime and there were 3 serious criminal allegations involving violation of federal banking, breach of contract with IR and theft by reception. They had a threatening voice and said, they would contact the local police who would arrest me in 30 minutes. They asked me what my intention was .. when I said I did not understand they hung up abruptly. I informed my local police who advised me to block that phone number and monitor it. They said not to give any personal information ever. This was a completely awful experience and please post any more such incidences, so the perpetrator can be caught.

This person named Mike Johnson called; of course he had some Philopino accent when asked he gave me this phone # and started by saying he was calling from a Federal Agency and that I owed him Taxes for 2012 and then later changed it to 2011 because I informed him that I already filed my taxes and that I'm a tax preparer. He demanded $2,365 and got angry with me when I started questioning him as to where exactly he was calling from some lady came on the phone first couldn't pronounce my name she too had a really bad accent asian while he was transferring me to someone else I hung up and called 311 and filed a complaint. He also gave me a badge #9742 and threatened me with if I don't pay up now then I would pay $75,000 infront of a judge and he would contact my local police dept and get me arrested right now and put me in jail for 7-8 months and take away my passport.

This was a very upsetting experience for me so my advise call the police and file a report.
Yes, and he did claim it was the Crime Investigation Division and read me an affidavit of 3 charges andI shouldn't interrupt. awful experience!!!!

This is just a scam...These are crooks. Need to find a way to stop harassing people. I will research to find a way to find the root and get them PUNISHED
