I receive a call from (716)204-8196 five times a day but they never leave a message. I hear about two seconds of a radio playing in the background but they never leave a message. These people are scum.

716-204-8196; 716-204-8195; 716-204-8193; 716-204-8657; 716-204-8658
These are all numbers that these idiots use! It doesn't seem to matter that they have the wrong number and it doesn't matter how many times you tell them that! How is it that they can continue calling people that are not who they are looking for? And why is it that they are calling rather then the credit card company or the bank that made the loan? Reply

I saw the actual people who are doing this on a 60 Minutes (or 20/20) report recently! they are NOT LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS for one thing...cops have better things to do than go bill collecting. thats someone elses job. They showed the office in upstate New York that these morons work out of... they are a bunch of crooks and dirtbags. I wouldn't even worry about them. If anything, just laugh at them when they call you - the bottom line is they bought your old debt and are trying to scare you into paying up or they are out of the money they invested. so they will use any dirty tactic to try to get you to pay them - you don't owe THEM jack! so the next time they call you, answer if you want and tell em you saw them looking like morons on T.V. and to stop calling you or you will (and can!) file harassment charges. I'm no lawyer, but this is what I saw. We all get dumb when we are young with our credit - but 10 years down the road we shouldn't have to live in fear of a bunch of New York scum. if they act like cops remind them that its a FEDERAL OFFENSE to impersonate a law enforcement official! see how fast they hang up. Good luck!

I got a call from this number telling me that legal action would be taken against me if I didn't pay on an account that was closed years ago. This account is listed on my credit report and states it was closed in good standing as well as closed on my request. I wasted about 3 hours today on the phone trying to get this all figured out. Can't we do something about companies like this?

Hi, do you happen to have the 800 number? I try to call them back on that 716 number, but it is always busy. Thanks.

They left a scripted message on a business line, never identifying themselves or who they were calling for. Then, they proceeded to threaten legal action and attachment of assets if a call was not placed to their 800 number to make payment arrangements of an unidentified amount for an unidentified creditor. Aren't there laws against this type of thing? Can't the FTC or FCC close down these types of operations?
