Keep getting calls from them but they won't identify who they are with caller I.D. When I called them (from an anonymous line) they would only give me the name Graystone, not who they are or what they do. They instead tried to pump me for information about who I was. I see it as a 2 way street or a dead end. Thank goodness for number I.D. and call blocking.

They got the contact information (old or new) from the company that you owe money to. If you'd pay your bill, you'd be okay. Don't forget, you can them information even though its no longer accurate. It's not like they pulled straws.

before you give any information make sure this is not a scam. if it is your bill then pay it, but make sure its not a scam, lots of them out there so be careful

The way you stop the harassing calls is to let them believe they found you, get the address and send a letter telling them to cease calling.
Of course you need LEGAL way to prove you sent it.
This can be done by taking the letter to the post office and getting it where they have to sign to receive it.

I keep receiving a call from 716-218-4872. he says its for a bill back in 2006. everytime i ask where, he says in the state of georgia. he can't tell me where.  after i asked questions he hangs up.

Pay them..negotiate. If unable to pay anything, tell them so and hang up, change your phone number!

Co***rd, you are a deceitful person if you tell a person if they pay their debts, their credit score is going to soar to new heights. It takes quite a bit of time for that to happen once these old debts are paid. Sometimes, they are not even removed from your credit report when paid because *VOILA!* the original creditor or the "owner" of the debt is the only one authorized to do this. A third-party collection agency cannot.
May I add that you didn't turn from a "debtor" to a "bill payer"; as they are the same thing. A debtor is (Courtesy of Miriam-Webster dictionary):

Therefore, if you have a car payment, mortgage or rent, a cell phone, cable etc., you are still a DEBTOR.
And, lastly, I have good credit, a career (note I did not say job), a house and a white Mercedes, therefore, I guess my parents did teach me well.
Side note for ANONTROLL: My theory is that people who are/were debt collectors were angry and unloved as children and the only way they could vent this anger is to become a debt collector. Really, what other job on this Earth of ours allows you to demean, threaten, lie and curse out another person? If I did that in my line of work, I'd be disbarred. HA!

These guys are a little sketch about trying to get ahold of you, but once they do... they are very easy to talk to and are definitely willing to work with you.

FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) applies to people collecting debts..  I'm not collecting a debt.  Waste your time and investigate to find out that what I'm posting is true.  Just so you know, I was a bill collector.  That's how I knew I could settle for 15%.  Cheers :-)

I spoke with a Mr. Ralyea.  He saved me $10,000 on a debt I owed by switching me from a "debtor" to a "bill payer".  By calling Mr. Ralyea could I save 15% or more on a debt I owe?...  Do many women love me?  There is your answer!

man named Michael Raylea supposedly with Greystone alliance called 3 different members of my family today indicating to them that I had given him their cellphone numbers, which for starters was a lie. He also indicated that he was trying to reach me, which was another lie, because I called him tell him to leave my family alone. and yes there is an unpaid debt associated with me.  I there is a way to stop this please advise. I just got a phone call from that man names Micheal from greystone. e threaten me told me he was looking for me wanted to know if I still lived at my old address I told him No you have the wrong person because he used my X-husband last name. He called my contact which was my daughter and stupid her gave him my number. I heard he is a Fraud and NO ONE SHOULD DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY, they said if he call tell him to stop calling or you will report him better yet change your number dont give it out to anyone.
