Got a call from this number this morning.  They left a voicemail stating that they were going to file a lawsuit under my name and social security number, and specified my County, IF I did not respond within 48 hours.  They did not indicate who they were on the message - only provided a callback number and stated it was "extremely urgent".  I do owe for a few back debts, but now they are all older than 10 years, and all long past the statute of limitations.  I filed an FTC Complaint at http://www.consumerfinance.gov/Complaint/#debt-collection.  Usually this stops the phone calls almost immediately.

The problem i have to deal with is that i have a fairly common name and several years ago found out that someone with the same first and last name was born a few days after me when the local PD picked me up for this persons bench warrant. Plus there is ANOTHER person with the same first and last name born a few months from me that also lives in the same city as me as well. Because of this and being a victim of ID Theft 4 or 5 times (I don't even keep track anymore because it happens to often), I now have this moron calling me, my employer (which is illegal), and my family (illegal again) and harassing me for a company i have never heard of, but according to them/him, i took a loan out.

These calls come and go every several months, and when i have tried to give them the name and number of MY attorney to contact further, they wont call him nor speak to him (once again illegal to do so). When me and my attorney have tried to track these scumbags down, they are always changing their name of the company, use shill fronts, untraceable (IP) phone numbers, and especially untraceable PO Boxes. I have asked to send me documentation, yet they curse me out for asking for it, and nothing shows i took out these bogus loans on my credit.

They also will threaten to have you arrested, which is highly illegal but more seemingly scare tactic, but yet when i call their bluff, and ask what PD they will be arresting me so i can turn my self in right now, they... well... curse you out even more.

The main thing is, if it is NOT on your credit, then they are full of it and just looking to scam the next person.

Another Message by Larry Svaboda: Im a personal finder and will come to your local business or house to serve you. Well, that was back in October. Google makes it easy to find people, should have come already? Saw that many people said this was a scam.

What I found out about Larry: When I called the number he left me to find a solution to a debt, a different man (who runs a legit business) said there was no files against me and I was not in the system. He said that whoever called was a scam. Solution Solved.

Got the call - did not answer - blocked the call before the 2nd ring.  That's how it's done!

Buy a call blocking phone or device - they're inexpensive and they work!

They can now call as often as they like - our office phones will not ring.  Most of the time, we don't even know that a telemarketer has called until much later in the day.  

This number calls me at work and tries to tell my human resource manager that I am being served papers-this has gone on for months and geuss what-no papers. They are thieves and liars. Today I filed a claim with the FTC and told them and am going to my local police department because this is HARRASMENT!!!! I bet I never hear from, them again

I get the calls too and I dont owe anyone anything. Never got a payday loan a day in my life. Ive changed my number and switched carriers and they got it again. I noticed my facebook was hacked from the same state they call from ( I do not live in the state they are calling from)

Continue to get calls from these jerks.  They are scam artists.  I tell them to quit calling me and then they just call more.  Worthless POS.

Mr Hill called me and informed me about a debut that i had forgot about. He gave me a settlement and I took it. If you take out a loan you should pay it. if you dont your a dead beat. Very happy with the settlement amount. Two thumbs up.

I will say this, even when they call you in error, you are simply stuck with being on their call list.  My grandmother gets calls for some guy named Johnny all the time.  The caller always seems to mumble his last name and her first name.  I told my grandmother not to even waste her time calling back because the call is of no significance to her and it's more than likely a SCAM.

They called my cellphone and left a message for Jose Rodriguez.  Sorry, but I don't know anyone named Jose!  At any rate, you called the wrong number and wasted your time leaving a detailed message regarding his finances.  I find it odd for any reputable business to leave such a message on voice mail when mine only provides a telephone number.

a "friend" listed me as a reference (without my permission) on a fly-by-night loan company.Since then She changed her number, now I'm stuck getting all these calls. Thanks a lot Felicia J. Wolverton.

They called looking for my FORMER brother in law saying he used me as a reference and asked ME to pay HIS loan.....I said sure give me your bank account and routing number and I will wire it to your account and they almost......ALMOST fell for it he was halfway through the routing number when he stopped and said you going to steal from me???  I said no I wouldn't do that I'm an upstanding citizen looking help help out a former family member.....he then said NO you going to steal from me and I said really why you think that because you trying to steal from me???

This guys are a scam. They insult you and challenge you over the phone. They just messed with the wrong guy. I will be filling a lawsuit against them. They are bunch of losers who have nothing better to do than mess with people.

Robert James & a**. called and left voicemail on my company phone trying to locate someone I do not even know who will not respond to them.

They keep calling me looking for someone I've never even heard of. We have the same last name but I have no idea who the person is. I've told them 4 times that I don't know the person they are calling about. I've even called them back after they left a message to let them know I wasn't who they are looking for! I've been told twice that my name and number would be removed from their list but no luck there.....just called me twice in the last hour....ridiculous!!!!

this company is Robert James & Associates. They are a debt collector, primarily "buying" defaulted payday loans. They contact you, misrepresent themselves as an attorney, tell you if you don't make payment arrangements, you will be suppoened for court and sued. They charge you more than the original debt that was owed to "settle" out of court. They will contact your relatives to get your contact information and tell your relatives you will be arrested if you don't contact them immediately. When you finally catch on to their scam and ask them to stop calling, they swear at you and threaten you over the phone. They will not give out their names if you ask them for them. Even if you do indeed owe the money, they are legally bound to treat you appropriately. There is a Fair Debt Collection Act that is a Federal Law. When this company misrepresents themselves, threatens you and harrasses you, they are breaking that law. Contact an attorney that specializes in Fair Debt Collection issues, you may not even be charged for the attorney's services. They have already been sued in court for these same issues and are already being investigated by the Attorney General's office.

GET A LIFE BOTTOM FEEDER!!!  You know nothing about these people - whether or not they really owe these people anything and again - reputable companies DO NOT use these tactics!!

Get as much information about them as possible; call the Attorney General in your state and basically ignore them.  Reputable companies pursue all LEGAL means without threats to collect.  If this continues you can also hire an attorney and direct all calls to said legal representative.

These ding dongs just called me and tried to tell me the call was for my husband but it wasn't...had my Father in laws name.  He told me my phone number was registered to my father in law...total BS.  Said this was in regards to an arbitration filed in "county" but didn't tell which one.  Really irks me.

I just bitched these people out for the 50th time and reported them once again to the attorney state general's office. How are they getting away with this! They are ridiculous, rude and swear on the phone at you. They asked for my number to remove it and then I ended up getting calls once again a few months later. They call over and over and don't leave voicemails. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO I called them over and over and over for about an hour just to hang up or say a lovely FU~ just to state my point of how annoying these scumbags are! I'm filing a harassment charge against them as well since the Attorney General doesn't seem to want to do anything about these people after over 300 complaints in just one month!

Debt Collectors cannot call you and harass you at all! All you have to do is tell them not to call back and document the date of calls and believe me several Attorney Generals are investigating this company and others who Lie why they are calling or who they are! They are nothing but "Bogus Liars!

This dude call me by this number saying im being serve to court in nassau county, long island when i ask him which court house he didnt even know what court house ! He got mad at me cause i said fine ill call my bank company and the police as well his sudden nice attitude became rude and called me a liar and etc.! No they are a scam. I already reported them to the Federal Trade Commission and it's funny they already knew who they were, what scam they were using and the phone number. Only they are targeting my mother who is 76 years old. Hmmm!!!  She never had a payday loan let alone use a computer. This persons name was Christopher Goodman. I basically gave them a piece of my mind and basically told them to get bent. I am sick of these scammers. If you actually google it this was   List of Debt Collectors in Buffalo, NY you will be surprised at what you will find. It is the Debt collectors paradise. Try it and see all of the companies they are finally shutting down due to illegal practices. I refuse to be scammed by them and especially my mother. Enough is enough.
