These are a bunch of stupid F-tards that harass people that acquired a new number when they open an account with new phone service whom have no relations or knowledge of the previous owners or their owed debts.
Scum bag NewYorkers that hide behind a phone call threatening people.

Keep calling, keep changing your number eventually they all will be blocked. Every time you change a number retards-it is displayed for public view and we all see you pathetic pieces of crap so we can again block you.

Cell phone owners: Download the app Mr. Number. It is free and it works!
Blocks all unwanted calls and texts. Easy to use and manage.
It hangs up almost immediately on whom ever you do not want to call you. They do not have a chance to clog up your message line, threaten you, or bother you-which pisses them off even more.. You also have the option to save incoming text for any legal usage.

I have recieved calls from 716-650-4897, and 716-312-1040 and 716-649-1648 and they first said they are calling from nationwide arbitration and threatening to arrest me for a return check from my bank and then they said they were from del ray capital stating the same thing.. I have no idea what this is about all cause I don't have checks nor have I ever wrote checks cause I pay everything with my debit card this is ridiculous and I know they are scams after reading these post.. How do I get them to stop calling me everyday and they are calling every hour.. They say they want to meet in person to serve me papers and to collect their money this is really scaring me cause I am single and live alone.. What should I do any advice? I am afraid what if they know my address. I have saved all their messages should I take them to the police? I would appreciate some advice..

Debt Collector
These people have been calling my cell phone, my home phone and my work. This is almost daily. They are terrible people. I got a call yesterday at my work. I answered the phone the guy said he was from Del Ray Capital. Number was 716-343-3000. He's in New York some where. I told him I was at work. He informed me that a lawyer had given him a file and was going to get a warrant. Said I wrote a bad check. First of all I don't write checks, I have no checks. I pay everything online or through ACH payments. He didn't tell me how much, what it was for or who I owed it to. I don't owe any debts, I just my regular monthly bills. These people a just bottom feeders. I bet he never even finish high school. He told me if I didn't call him back at the end of the day, they would find me. I did some research and they are a low life collection agency. If these people call you my best advise is to just hang up.

Automatic Caller said they received a returned check from bank. I should call or have my lawyer call 855-714-3586 to discuss matter.  Why would an agency call on a returned check from bank?  Last month, I received same call for my mother. I called and a woman said that she is being sued in two Counties.  I asked her what County.  She said to hold on and I heard paper shuffling.  Seriously?  If this was legitimate, she would have told me right away.  So she "guessed" at a County name.  Wrong!
I told her she had the wrong person.

Since then, I get calls from the Company every week. When I did call last month, they try to threaten.  I'm not worried because I know exactly my parents financial situation as well as mine.  It pays to know what's going on with your finances (including credit cards and banking transactions) so no one can fool you.

Scammers must believe that by harassing every relative or friend of their mark that they can find, they are increasing the pressure on the mark to cave in to their illegitimate demands.

a restraining order. means you cannot come of so many feet of them so why would they do that. driving license I doubt they can do that. I believe only the state you live in can sependend a driving license, like for a driving violation. or state tax due,  I dont know about the IRS if they can . I believe they just use this as a threat,

That is an idle threat to scare you.  That would not happen even IF you owed money.  Debt is a civil action, not a criminal one.  Also you can NOT be arrested, jailed, etc.  One company even threatened to take away children.  That is all ILLEGAL!!  Unless you have received something IN WRITING, you have not been notified of anything.  Phone calls, emails & faxes do NOT count.  If in doubt, contact your local court or law enforcement.

Many reports of this type mention suspension of driver's licenses and restraining orders.  Is there any point to them doing this?

Debt Collector
Definite scam artists.  Trying to collect on a payday loan that was already paid, for more than double the amount.  Tried to scare me into paying by saying that "the attorney" filed 2 claims against me for non-payment and one for a 30 day suspension of my driver's license.  Ridiculous.  I'm not lawyer, but I know thats a bunch of bullsh*t.  When I asked to get the information in writing, she said she will send it and have an associate call me back.  I said do not call me ever again, we can do everything in writing.  She got mad and said 'Well send THAT to me in writing!' and hung up.  Funny thing, she never gave me any contact info.  lol  I guess she was just mad that I didnt fall for the hoax.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

They are Del Ray Capital located in Tonawanda, N.7  14120. File a report with the BBB in New York and the FTC ( you can do it online).  That is the only way to stop the way they are violating the law.

Debt Collector
I have a new phone and this company calls me constantly; I mean constantly.  They sound like mafiaso! They speak in this low, threatening, yankee-voice tone of intimidation.  I cannot tell what they are saying, except they want to get a debt settled.  I live in the South, have never been to New York, and do not owe anybody money.  I plan to report them to the FTC of they keep it up. Whoever they are threatening, they need to get the correct phone number and stop intimidating the innocent.
