bill collector hired by a payday loan company. they will name drop and say that the people you used as a reference are going to appear in court against you, which is hilarious since they have nothing to do with any of it!

Don't let them scare or bully you into paying them--thats their main goal. A "judge" on the line? Probably one of his henchmen pretending to be one! Aren't they pathetic??

Yea the cops said that firms just cant go out and issue warrents.  The crazy part is this guy told me and this other kid that were being charged with bank fraud, well this firm is from NY and we both are in Texas.  He never said anything about the debt he just said what we were being charged with.  Offered me the option to pay but said a judge would have to be on the line lol.  Cops said if you were being charged with bank fraud and check fraud then you would not have option to pay you just get picked up.

I was told today by this guy that I was going to jail for bank fraud.  Told me I had a wire transfer in May 2011 that was either to my bank account or a visa card.  Nothing like that ever happened, said I was going to be picked up tomorrow and face 3 to 5 for 880 dollars.  Checked my credit nothing on their states anything like that.  Cant check my bank account statements due to my account being locked out as of 3 hours ago.   Either way went to the cops today told him that me and some other guy are being charged by some law firm up in NY WTF.?

I received a call from these people Chrisopher Anderson stating we had to pay this loan within 72 hours or we were going to prison for a cash loan that we took out in 2008 from a Cash net store.  WE NEVER DID how can these people do this?  i do not know what to do anymore life is so hard the way it is and then you have someone like this stting they we are going to prison for not paying this bill.

They know we have a bank account what do we do if they try taking it out of our account?  I do not know what to do anymore they tell us we are going to prison?  How do they get all this personal information?

If you actually read the contract you sign When you take out a payday loan or a credit card, there is a clause that states if suspected the loan or card is taken out with the intention of non repayment, which is the case of what most people do with online cash advances who don't pay them back, that It can lead into a criminal investigation. Read the contracts you sign  before having money wired directly into your bank accounts. Its not free money.

There is no longer debtors prison. It has been gone for a long time in the USA. I repeat, you cannot go to prison for not paying a debt.

There is a few exceptions, such as failing to pay child support when you have income, or failing to appear in court when told to, possibly for a judgement proceeding, but you will already have been served papers to appear.

When you do not pay debt, such as utility bills, you get utilities shut off. When you do not make car payments, you get it repossessed. When you fail to make house payments, you get foreclosed.

Creditors CANNOT threaten jail, as it is illegal to do so, and you won't go to jail for debt anyhow, except in the few scenarios mentioned above. Still, those scenarios are rare. As the court system and creditors will exhaust a lot of other options before prison becomes a viable option.

So, when one of these clowns threatens you with "papers", unless its someone you truly owe money to, laugh it off.

Now, if its old debt (with the exception of loans from the government, like student loans), those are unenforceable after the statue of limitations run out, usually 4 to 7 years (and I believe 10 in some cases, I could be wrong), and instead of going after the debtor, companies usually wrote it off.

So... Moral of the story is know your rights and know the law.
