this number keep caling my phone i dont no why.

Received several calls from this # on my cell at all times of the day and night.
It was always a recorded msg., with a warning to not ignore it, also the name they were calling for was garbled.
I called it back and after a warning was left for me or my attorney to not ignore it, I got some chick on the other end that said her name was Shaquoia or something and she would remove my # from the list.
They still call and it is very annoying.

This number calls my cellphone and the Police Department where I work. They have been told not to call the office again and states that the person they are looking for has to tell them that they cannot call.

Calls all day and night...never leaves message

I get continual robocalls from this area code.  I only answered once and was instructed by robot to have my attorney contact them.  Has to be a debt collection scam because I don't owe anyone money.  I've read the calls are from Capital One, but are listed as a private residence.  Each time I report a number that number stops calling and then calls from a new number in the same area code start coming in.  Isn't there legal action that can be taken?  Other numbers are:
716-297-1614 and 716-297-3561.

Got the same number just called me.  I answered, and then they hung up on me.  Very frustrating.

Actually; this is not always a scam, but is certainly still annoying though. I had a neighbor use me as a reference without my permission and when I called the number back was given that neighbors name. I do not know him well and don't want to be in the middle of it; but we'll see if my calling back has any affect. I find it slightly interesting, but more so annoying, that had I been contacted before any alleged dept was received I could have indicated that the reference was not with my permission. And hopefully prevented the loan from being approved. But, now that someone didn't do their homework (and I don't feel very sorry for those involved in such usury anyway) I get to deal with the calls and messages. Anyway, I will try to get back on this site in a week and let everyone know how it went so that you can decide if you want to call too (assuming you haven't and know that it's not your supposed dept. This phone number 7162970191 is being calling my cell for a month now, called me 4 to 6 times per day. It is needed to be stopped.  When I called back, a man answered, this is "Capital Group Associate". When I asked why I kept getting so many called from you, then he sunddenly hanged up the phone.

These guys must be total scammers. Their name is Capital Recovery Associates.
I have no unpaid debts to my name (I pulled my full credit report and my wife's just to check).

They call from several different phone numbers
716-297-0191 and 716-297-1614 and 700-000-0000. The calls to my cell started with them asking for an old friend and explained that said friend (someone I actually do know) gave them my cell as a contact number. I called my friend and he said he knew nothing of it.

The next call from them I got asked for ME or my attorney. Calls have now started to my wife's cell. The robo-voice asks for her or her attorney. The calls come to BOTH of our cell phones at the EXACT same time. No joke. It is very bizarre.

Robovoice instructs to call 866-939-9947 and reference a file#. I won't do it.

Keep getting calls from this number but no message.

This number called me at 9 o'clock at night!!!  Who are these idiots?

they called my house several times, and it shows up on my caller id as "flordia", of course we dont answer the phone because we only answer it when a family member calls. They started calling my cell phone. I finally decided to talk to someone yesterday and pressed a button like it says, but when someone picked up, I asked what this call was for they just hung up, twice its happened. After this happened, I blocked there number on my cell phone, they called me this morning from a blocked number...I was so pissed off. Couple times when the call and say the name they are calling for they said it low so I couldn't understand them...today they said my name, and I know I have no debts that I need to pay to anyone.

Also got called from a 716-871-4477, 799-999-9999

I've been fighting with them too. Was hung up on 4 times in a row when I requested to be removed from their contact list.
Did you have any luck getting the calls to stop?

i get 2 calls a day from here and they leave a computer message with a partial phone number to call back.  ODD!  they should just say who they are and what they want!

Pretty much the same as everyone else, except they say they need to talk to a "James Chapman," and he or his attorney needs to contact immediately. Needless to say, I am not James Chapman, this is a relatively new number, and I do not have any outstanding debts. When I've talked to anyone, they hang up on me fairly quickly without saying anything. One time, I got a nice person, said he would take me off the list, but also mentioned he was looking for someone else (a different name than James Chapman). The calls stopped for a few days and then started again. This is more annoying for me, because it is definitely the wrong number and I've only had this number for a couple of months. They also call from 700-000-0000.

A recording comes on and states "have either me or my attorney call back at 866-939-9947" and they gave me a reference number. I have no (and have never had) any unpaid bills or loans and have never filed for bankruptcy. I am hesitant to call them back because I don't want to acknowledge that they can get a person at my number. Who knows what kind of scam these b*stards are pulling...

I had Verizon block the 716 number, now they call from 700-000-0000. ARGH!

I found the information on this phone number at 800notes.com.   Yes, this is a scam to try and collect old debts, that are probably not even legal to collect anymore.

I received a call on my direct work line a few times these past couple days.  Caller ID showed 716-297-0191.  It was an automated recording stating to call 866.939.9947.  So I called the number with my taperecorder in hand....just waiting to get someone rude so that I could start by being nice, gather his name and info, then piss him off.  Hey, I wouldn't mind making a buck off of this company.  I called and called the number all morning and nothing but holding to music.  Then in the afternoon, I kept getting their voicemail.  So I left a message and said seems like you don't want my money, so you're not getting it.  Muhaaaaa

They have an urgent message for me.  Have either me or my attorney call back and they gave me a reference number.

Getting recorded messages with a provided file number and a threat to "not ignore this matter" every day, multiple times, for nearly a month. Finally called back their 866-939-9947 number to find out it's a collection agency called Capital Recovery Services. I gave them the file number and the guy gives me a name I've never heard of. He told me he'd remove me from the list so I stop getting calls. We'll see...

Also shows up on my cell phone as 716-297-0118.

My advice to anyone receiving these calls it to call your phone company and ask them to set up a call forward for that number.  and have it forward back to one of their two numbers.

Got a call from capital recovery associates representative tonight, my son owed B&L 1yr 3mo ago but it was taken care of a year ago in fact to much B&L had to reimburse my son $150. but every sense we get phone calls from collection agencies we tell them the dept was paid and all details but they still call and always when my son is at work unless it is a Saturday, most of the time I answer and no one speaks, I hang up but not tonight there was the message for my son or his lawyer that there was an urgent matter to be taken care of and that option to push a button. I did then asked some guy said something real fast couldn't even hear I said I don't know what you want you call me he ask for my son I said I'm his mom you can talk to me I asked him if this was about B&L he said yes I told it was paid 1 year ago and if we keep getting called we are going to sue you then he got mad he wasn't real mean but mad and rude but I was rude right back. I'm tired of constantly explaining to them the loan is not
owed and they don't believe me or my son, why don't they just check it out it's only a phone call they should have the number scene they say they have a contract. anyhow next time I will be nice and record. of coarse it will probable be from some other collection agencies so far there is 2 companies that I know.
? can B&L sew them for miss representing them. cause B&L told me they don't have anyone representing them on my son.
And no my son is not a mama's boy. but I'll be Dam* if any one messes with my kids for no reason, my kids can mess up just fine on there own they don't need someone else messing up there lives.

I have received several calls, after I have told them repeatedly that I cannot even pay my power bill, much less an old debt. They have threatened my to go to court and all kinds of other nasty things! I reported them to the FTC, because it is illegal to do so, and everyone else should also!

yes i just got a call from this same number and when i answered they hung up on me. I wonder why they continute to call.

I called and was fortunate to get someone who was polite and nice.  I simply told him that someone had called and didnt leave a voicemail, and I wanted to return the call.  It ended up being for a debt that belonged to the previous owner of my cell number, who I've already had a few calls for.  I let the person know this and he said no problem, I'll take the number off for you.  The company was Capital Recovery Services Group.
