i got a call from this number too yesterday, january 5th stating that they are representives of John Nicolia's Office. 'mr. kazmareck' stated that CLOUT VISA (who was bought out by Bank of America) was filing a civil lawsuit on Thursday against me if I didn't pay $3,040. i stated to him that i don't have $3,000 and then said that he is not authorized to allow me to make payments, however, he will cut it half and allow me to make 2 payments of $850.00. my wife is refusing to pay this and has stated to me to let me send the subpoena and make us go to court.

My husband and I both received a summons form our local city court. It's from an an attorney for Ethical Asset Mgm., It is signed by a judge and has 1-888-937-7937 to contact them to discuss this debt. Is this for real?

SCAM!  This rough sounding guy left a message on my voicemail.  Didn't even have my name.

"This is Mr. Hoffa calling with attorney John Nicolia  .  I do need to hear from you or your attorney regarding a civil suit pending against you in the Los Angeles County courts.  I do need to hear from you or your attorney if you have retained one regarding this matter.  If I do not hear from  you, this will get marked down as your direct and final refusal.  This will allow me  to render a decision on your behalf.  So again contact me immediately.  I just didn't want you to get blindsided with a subpeona to appear and not know what's going on. So let me know  exactly what it is what you'd like to do here.  I do need to know what your intentions are as far as avoiding the legal process so be sure to call me immediately at 888-346 3978 x118 case number to filed out of the Los Angeles County courts is D190-798.
They are using scare tactics to try to scare us out of money.  There are no "civil suits" pending against me and I do not know of any legitimate legal actions that involve leaving messages on cell phones.  Do not call back, do not give any info!

Got a call from them today saying that I owed 4000 and some odd dollars for a credit card i got in high school. ive been doing my research on them. they told me that they were filing a lawsuit in my county and that they were going to put a lien on my car and that they were going to garnish my wages. im not sure if they know of the texas law, but they cant do that. they also called a friend of mine and falsely identified herself and told her of the matter which is also a privacy issue. i kno my rights and will excercise them to the fullest. the ladies name is miss johnson. i have her voicmail saved to my phone so i hope she does supoena me to court. im in the military also and she told me that i was going to loose my job because of this also. thats threatening.we will see how this plays out. ill keep you informed.

well for me this number called and said they were CRSI 5777 Madison Ave Ste 960, Sacramento, CA 95841. Main # 866-502-2774. They have said the same exact things to me as scare tactics as well as called around to my family members also trying to get info out of them and saying it was a legal matter that might involve them in the future. As I write this post I just got a call from my boyfriend BUT IT WAS THEM ON THE LINE!? SOMEHOW THEY MUST HAVE TAPPED INTO HIS PHONE INFO AND CALLED ME FROM HIS NUMBER SO I WOULD PICK UP!!!!!!! PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS SO ILLEGAL ITS NOT EVEN FUNNY. I LIVE IN FLORIDA AND I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO REPORT THEM!!!!!

I received a call this afternoon from this number.  The gentleman claimed to have been a representative of Instant Lending Group.  I hung hung when he asked for my routing and checking account numbers.  He claims he got my info from a payday loan application made online.

I have been receiving calls from Jim Baker from this very same "Law Firm".  He always leaves messages since I don't answer the calls.  He will leave a message referring to me by my old last name, then next time he will be back with my current last name.  He says that he is trying to complete some paperwork in reference to a supoena that will be filed against me in the county where I live.  That this action (or court date) is suppose to take place on such-in-such date and to please call him.  The date keeps changing (along with my last name).  First off, this phone number is out of New York and I live in TX.  Second, a supeona is just a legal request, it's not a charge.  If they want me to appear in court, then they first have to issue a supoena or have me served with papers (in which I will have time to prepare if needed).  This guy is just blowing smoke.  I had a friend who works for the police do a check on me (no I am not wanted for anything) and she checked the phone number and said it's for a company out of New York called Ethical Collections, although I don't know how "ethical" they are.  I think they are just trying to scare people into calling them or giving them money.

Got a call from a Jim Baker today from this #. I have a pretty good credit score, no passed due debt, but he states that Jay Nicolia,not John Nicolia is taking m to cout as of Tues morning! I was scared trying to figure out what this is! I guess this page has informed me! Thanks. I'll keep you posted!

My daughter got a phone call from this # saying that they were a law firm and looking for me. They said it was not a debt collection but it was a higher problem. She would not give them any info and they get very upset with them. I found out later that they also called my X husband of 9 years and they where asking him questions about me as if we were married or divorced in 2004 . He did not give them any info. I got the # from daughter and I have been trying to call them for a few days now and it is always busy. Not even a voice mail or answering machine. I believe if this was a  law office they would have someone answering phones or answering machine. I will not worry as I know this is a scam..So watch out !!

I got a call from them today, saying that they'd filed a lawsuit in my county, but I didn't receive a written notice from the court. I used to be a landlord and have filed numerous eviction suits. There are certain procedure to follow, such as delivering a notice to appear in court. This is absolute BS. They can't be intimidating people like this to get money. I'm reporting them to the Attorney General Office.

I too received a call from this number, the person I am speaking to is Debra and she states their is a criminal case against ready to be filed if I dont pay $734. This is from a payday loan (NEVER AGAIN) Well I have been making payments directly to the payday loan company through Consumer Credit Counseling.  My actual balance is $415. I have proof of my payments. So now Debra states that they will honor my $415 balance but that they cannot accept the $45 monthly payments I am making. They need to split the $415 balance into three payments only and I must respont by no later than 4/23/09 or they will begin filings through the court system.

Got a call from someone who claims he "represents"the law office of John Nicolia.He goes on to say someone has filed a breach of contract lawsuit against my wife and I.Supposedly this matter is from 2003.Anyway,they left a number for us to return their call,and guess what?They're still waiting.

they keep calling me and will not leave a voice mail.  my husband answered once and they claimed they were with time warner cable.  we do not have time warner cable anymore and haven't for about 2 months.  he told the guy to stop calling and to remove my number from their list.  now they are calling again.  i answer and hang up and the guy called back in like 2 seconds. still, no voice message is left.
