Gotten a call from this same number sayn I oue a loan for over a year ago stating that if I don't pay at the end of the month I will be served with papers & go to jail.. WTH, are they for real!!

I called the number back and they had the audacity to pretend to be litigation. I gave them my number and of course they were calling the wrong people. Then the lady hung up in my face.

I think that you can block them by using national do not call registry.

Called my phone,left vm for my daughter said there was a judgement against her from her last place of work.  guess where she worked, for the sheriff's department.  That was a surprise for them.  did not leave company name.

This # 1716-332-8083 just called me today. So I called them back and they told me that I had committed some kind of bank fraud with my bank well I told the guy on the other end that I would be checking with my bank about the situation. And he just hang up on me so I did fallow through and check with my bank and found out that this guy was just trying to get information out of me about some BS pay day loan that I had never taken it out and that they need too find the person who is responsible.

keep getting a call from 716-989-0821 and 716-332-8083 and 516-833-0274 and 330-408-0431 and they all say the same thing that they are going to come to my job or home to serve me papers sometimes the msg will say that they have already served me and i need someone to call them back to go over the paperwork... really i have never gotten any kind of paper work from anyone and they say they will go to my county to have me served and and that i could go to jail... really???? i am a collector myself and i know that they cant be leaving these kind of msg. they cant threaten either so they are really just wasting there time, this has been going on for over 5 mo and they dont get tired and i wont get tired of letting it go to voice mail, lets see how long it goes on the sad thing is they call like 4 times a day and they are calling my work number and i am not able to block them....ugh!! can someone please tell me how to stop them!!!!

It's getting close to the HOLIDAYS and they are trying to make bonuses I GUESS.

CALLER VERY RUDE  FROM THIS NUMBER.  WHEN I CALL THE NUMBER BACK THE NUMBER IS NOT IN SERVICE.  THEY CALL EVERYDAY LEAVE ME RUDE MESSEGE ABOUT A MATTER WITHOUT LETTING ME KNOW WHAT THE MATTER IS.  SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE THEY CALL ME ON MY JOB.

Is it me but if a company or an individual where to sue or take you to court, do you think that the lawyers would be calling to say, "Hey, you're being sued and we're serving you papers"? I think if it were truly legtimate, they would serve papers without notifying you before time. I'm at the point of calling these scammers back and telling them to go ahead and serve papers but it's really not worth my time or money to turn around and try to take them to court. I think I'll let sleeping dogs lay and if I'm in a kidding mood, I might just play along. Or what if we turned the tides and told them we were law enforcement official and gave them a fake badge number and told them that they were now under investigation and that the FBI would be showing up to their office to collect everything. But knowing these people they are probably calling from cell phones or something like that. But I think it's time to take back control of the situation, not only with this group, but all groups that prey on people. Call their bluff. And by the way, I have never taken out a payday loan or any type of short term loan.

This is a bottom-feeding collection company that has absolutely no legal ground for what they are doing.  They purchase old payday loans (paid or unpaid) for cents on the dollar and try to manipulate people into paying them the full amount.  It's a very profitable business for them because people fall for the scam all the time.  Block their phone number, delete their messages and they will eventually leave you alone after they know you are on to them.  Don't worry at all...there is nobody that is going to come knocking at your door with papers.

They call from a different number every couple weeks or so, and i never let them leave a voicemail.  i pick up the phone and hang it back up,  never let them get the chance to say anything.   they are a scam to get money out of you in any way they can. the number is always 716-332-XXXX   so I dont have time for scammers trying to get my info!

Yeah, my mom got a call from this number and she texted to me and I called this number. The guy tray said that I owed 1,270.00 which there saying I took out a loan in 2008 and which I didn't I would of remembered. Said he serve papres at my work of employment. Said he would take 640.00 out of court and during court it would be 2,000.00 an something. I'm thinking about having the atternal general look into this.

I got a vm but didnt say who they were or who they were calling for. they made it seem official n legal and threatening to serve papers at place of employment. correct me if im wrong but isnt courts closed on weekends? they said they would be filling papers oct 28 if i didnt call back n would be serving papers at that time.

I just got a voicemail from this # and they tried to sound very official, stating they would be serving me papers at my place of employment.  They're just bill collectors trying to scare people into calling them back so they can indimidate them in person.
I took out a payday loan last Fall (2011), paid it off, and have gotten many of these calls since then.
It should be illegal.
