Just got this robo-call a few minutes ago. Funny how these phishing calls never ask for you by name or state who the message is for.

Careful people..I got this msg today...and have had other msgs like you all have posted...they have multiple numbers they use...this one was a new one...

Vmail left from a Janelle Harris calling from "CRA & Associates" regarding 2 civil complaints along w/a check fraud claim currently attached to my name and SSN, client has this matter set and ready to file against me. Before they file this, they requested they try and contact me first to see if i want to resolve this matter out of court/voluntarily. If the client does not hear back from me they will assume ive waived my rights and will have me served, once served they can no longer assist me. 518-288-2922 WTH???!?!? This is another scam..

This same idiot called my moms cell phone and asked for me.  This person has my number and how did he get my moms cell number which is unlisted .  He said the same spiel he gave me to my mom.  Is there some way we can get an organized group to catch this crook ?

I just got the same message- "Hello this is James Weinbeg. I am calling pertaining your case with my firm that was filed last week. I do need to go over the paper work that would have been sent to your residence or your work. A supervisor would have had to sign for this or you would have had to sign for this yourself. it was about a 25 page packet. I do need to go over page 15 of that packet that does have your hearing date and times which are coming up quit rapidly and we also have to go over a statement made by our client. Contact us at the office as soon as you get this to go over that information at 855-276-1132. "

I knew something was up when he didn't say a name, and then when he said it was delivered to my house or residence ( he would know where it was sent) and that a supervisor or myself needed to sign. He sounded very professional so I can see how a lot of people could believe it. This came to an office, so luckily I am good at being the gatekeeper for the company to keep idiots like this out.

That's crazy.  I have been getting these same type of calls.  At first, I was concerned.  Today I got an automated  call stating I had a return check, too.  The only check I have written in the last 6 months or so was for $1.50 to my apartment complex for an incorrect amount paid.  REALLY?  I called them back and actually spoke with someone cordial.  She didn't say the company name, but did ask for bank account info to set up payments for a bank in my area, which I actually did have an account with.  I don't know anything about a $628.00 debt to them.  And, I have received calls from 855-209-0496 stating I have a court date, too, and that I should have received my couriered packet at work with my court date.  THIS IS BS and they should be stopped.  I feel so much better to read ALL the posts.  Thanks, EVERYONE

Got the same call today,thing is ,isn't not me,they left a message and said it was for check fraud just like yours did and I called the number that called me and a very rude man said that I owed money for a credit card,really I thought it was for check fraud!!!! I asked for the business name and he wouldn't give it to me.I'm going to call the police and let them know what's going on,this is carzy!!

a womans voice left a message saying she was Ms. Richards calling from H. W. $ Associates about a check fraud case against me, she called from number 716-362-8928, the message said she wanted my name and SS number to verify who i am,......YA  RIGHT.

she then said to call her directly at 855-209-0496

these people are so stupid, they called me at my work and all calls are recorded and date & time stamped.
i turned over the tape to the phone comapny and the Sheriff.

i hope somebody shoots these idiots.

Samething as above. I love when they say that they are coming to my office & my home. I work from home & I live in a secure condo buiding. Let them try.

argh! These scammers are using a different number! They've been calling me for months. It's b***s***. If you're going to court, they're not going to call you up and warn you about it. Or take some b***s*** testimony on your behalf. I used to serve court summons. no way in hell would I ever warn someone- they would hide! think about it.

They will keep calling you with new dates that don't exist. Just look up cases at your local county court. If there's one against you, it will be on file. Most courts have online access. And you certainly don't want to give them information that will help your case even if it were true. You submit your own responses and your own evidence. why the hell would someone who's taking YOU to court want to help you? it's ridiculous!

oh they also tried a different route. Tried to tell me I wrote them a bad check. Uh no. I haven't written a chek in 12 years. Checks suck. They're antiquated and waste people's time. So unless I wrote them a check 12 years ago and they just found me, they're full of s***.

same company stating court order in my name with court date 11/15. who are these jerks.

So, I got a call on my work voice mail yesterday (10-30) indicating there was a court hearing today (10-31) and they wanted a statement from me for the hearing. Now today the supposed date of the court hearing, I received a message from a "legal courier" regarding documents waiting a signature of acknowledgment. They called from 716-362-8928, but the message indicates I can call the petitioner at 443-478-3961 to sign for the documents or reschedule the court hearing. Hmm, the first message these people Hogan and Wineburg left indicated the hearing was scheduled for 10-3.

These people have left messages from different numbers (including this one) nearly every day for a few months.
