Same thing here. Sent Boost mobile a email. Responce was "scam do not respond."

Texted my husband's Nextel cell phone with this message:

9099|customer issue, vis service frozen.  please call at 716 404 2543 2:00P 12/05

He called me, and I told him it was probably a scam, they would call our home number first, but to Google this number.

I JUST WAS SENT TEXT TOO AND I HAVE SPRINT...ITS DEF. A LIL SCAM GOIN AROUND BUT SPRINT SHOULD DEF TRY TO BLOCK THAT OUT SO NO ONE DOESNT REALLY CONTINUE ON WITH THE TEXT AND GET SCREWED OVER.

Just got the text, I'm an on call technician and do POS and other such systems.  Found that it wasn't work related.  Sprint user here as well.  Thankfully I checked on here to see what it was.  I'm not the only one today getting this either.

Just got the same text message. It is obviously a scam as I just got a new phone and # less than 10 minutes ago! I haven't given the # to anyone let alone Visa!

i just got a text saying the same thing and i have Sprint too...it must be a mass scam if we all got it. i just checked my Visa account and it's not frozen

Just got the same text, do not call it back. It is a phishing scam.

Got the same text.  Do not trust it.  If you are concerned that it might be real then call the number on the back of your credit card.  If you call the number from the text they will likely ask for your card number and steal your identity!

I also got the same message, about 10 minutes ago.  I am certain my CC is not frozen.

I got the same text message as well and contacted Sprint. They said that they have got reports of customers calling the number back and being told that there was a returned payment, and needed to pay a past due amount by telephone and with a credit card. I have a Mastercard on that account and said its a scam going around...

I got the same text message from 9099 to my phone in San Antonio about a minute ago:

Looks fishy. I'm going to ignore it.

I got the same text message also. I am going to report it to Sprint. My account is not frozen and I was wondering if they do it to get my account number. I thought it was fishy to have 716 number as a customer service, and also.. text message me for the issue?? Fishy.

And a search put it in Buffalo, NY, interestingly.
