got a call from 1-716-404-4688 saying that they have a complaint filed against me.  They called my husband too.  The number is from NY.

You aren't permitted to call at work once you've been told not to. In fact, you're not allowed to call at all once you get that in writing.  Bet you don't provide a fax or street address to make that possible, do you? That's what the Fed FDCA says.

And if I ask you for information, you are required to send it. That's in the Fed FDCA, too.

Finally, not everyone who is behind on their bills is a deadbeat. Sometimes, people are hanging on by their fingernails. Food, transportation, rent and utilities come first -- a lot of folks out here are unemployed or underemployed, and all your non-legitimate threats of lawsuits and arrests/service are also not permitted by the FDCA, either.

just because you owe money on a loan you took out, which you do if they are calling you about it because its under your social security #...that doesnt give you or anyone the right to say its a scam. you know you took out the loan, if you didnt you should have a fraud report, police report or something of that nature or it means someone close to you took out the loan with your information. you are still liable because it is all your information unless you can prove they opened a bank account in a different name. the fdcpa states that a collection agency is allowed to call once a day on each phone # on the file, and yes your cell phone, work phone and landline all count as separate lines...they may speak with you, your spouse or your legal representation about only about these matters. noone at this company should say they are a law firm...the definition of the word "firm" is "a partnership or association for carrying on a business" or "the name or title under which associated parties transact business: the firm of Smith & Jones...taken straight from the dictionary...so yes they may call themselves a firm...if you can't understand the terminology they are using right it down and come back and say it's illegal...chances are they are not...you are just incompetent enough that you think big words means they are a lawyer when they're not. they just actually might be an intelligent person. they may not use an alias under any circumstances unless they have a second name they go by. my suggestion...you pay back the money you owe...you took it out, wrote a bad check and either purposely intended to not pay it back or your account overdrew...in any case you should read the fdcpa if you want to know what is legal and what is not...it is available to any and everyone in the world...

09/13/12- They called my brother who in turn called my boyfriends cell. They called and told my boyfriend really fast and muffeld who they were froma nd stated to him that I owed a pyadya loan form May 2008. When he asked who they were with they startted asking him for my SS# and gave an old email address for a company that I haden't worked for in 4 yrs the funny thing was they werent saying a whole lot. They were trying to get him to do al lthe talking and give them information.

He stated to them that I took bankruptcy back at that time and if they wanted to get ahold of me to call my cellphone of course those losers never called.

So today I looked their number up on Google it was 716-404-4677 and of course it doesnt show any kind of company name or anythign just says its a toll freenumber out of Buffalo, NY SO tried to call it and it rang like 10 times then of course I get what sounds liek a personal answering machine not with a company name but an automated thign that says " Leave a message we are not avaialble to take your call"

Funny you would think a legit company would have their name on the web or when you call. So I called this mornign and some guy answered like it was a personal call and said " This is David Brownman" not wiht such and such company.

I keep getting automated messages on my work/cell/home number about a returned item from my bank and that either I or my council must call them back.  I had a fraudulent charge on my debit card a few months back that I had my bank dispute and it seem like these calls started then.  Also, I get the same calls from another number 323-786-3881.

Once again this outfit, Simon Eckler and Associates called and said that they tried to get in contact with me and said that I must've received their written correspondence as a result. The automated message then says I must make a decision this week regarding this matter. I've never received any written correspondence from these people.

They keep calling repeated and they got very nasty when called them back and informed them I was on the donotcall.gov list.

This number just called me as well. Sounds like a scam. Says they're calling from a place called Simon and Oyka or something similar. The message left was muffled.
