Received a call from Christopher Colby that I had taken out a payday loan in 2008 and had failed to repay the loan.  I told him I had never done business with a company called B&W.  When I asked him to send me documentation that I had taken out a loan he said he couldn't that he didn't have it.  I asked him where he was getting his information and he said it's right here in front of me. When I asked for him to have the company forward me documentation of the loan he said he couldn't contact them that he only receives the information from the company.  He said if I didn't try to resolve the matter they would put a lien on my car and since I wasn't going to cooperate in resolving the matter they would be calling the DMV and have a lien put on the car and we would be going to court.  I told him if this was the only way I was going to get to see any records of a debt he said I owed then I wanted to go before a Judge.  I told him all of this was a scam and to never call me again and go ahead and do whatever they wanted.   I failed to mention he called from two different numbers 716-213-6112 and 716-418-7527.

Steven Scott or whatever his name is and his Department of legal services are a bunch of scumbag fakes.  Claiming they are going to serve you and put you in jail.  HAHA.  There is no such thing as debtors prison.  I feel sorry for the people that fall for these nasty people's tricks.They are low lifes.

This short thread is an example of how to deal with a Shill. And, of course, a warning to anyone receiving a call from this number. The truly dense frauds will attempt to post false "testimonials" on this site. Those of us that have been dealing with frauds for a long time can see through them immediately. It's not always their illiteracy. It's not their lack of knowledge regarding the legal process in the U.S. It's just an innate sense that we develop over time.
The frauds can sense us too. They figure out fast that some of the regulars here are not to be toyed with. We know more about the debt collection industry than they will ever know. Both sides of it, the legitimate and the fraudulent. We can recite the state & federal regulations regarding the collection of debt in our sleep. The frauds know this. They do one of two things. They disappear or they resort to responses that further prove them to be frauds. This one took the first option. Proving that he's not a total idiot. Close though!
The Shill for this number might return. I rather doubt it, but it's possible. The fraud-shop he's working for will probably tank this number and fire up a new one. We'll be waiting either way....

the department of legal services is in every state of the country. i googled the company and also had my brothers attorney look into them.

I received a call on my cell phone from a Mr.Scott in regards to my husbands drivers license that was placed under suspension due to a child support case,the man did "mediate" my husbands case so he was able to get his license back by making small payments back to his ex wife.

If they "helped you out" you should have no problem with posting this outfits name, valid physical address, the legitimate name of the person you spoke with, their license number & the states they're licensed to collect in.
Some how I suspect you won't be posting a verifiable thing. No one here will have to wonder why.

did my research on this number, comes back to the department of legal services..company simply handles mediation, judgements,child support, civil claims etc. the man i spoke with was a bit rude but did actually help me out so i cant complain i guess.
