10-31-07 Received a call from 716-450-8578...let call go on answering machine and no one said anything...they hung up because no one was there.  I wish I could stop these calls.  We receive several in a day and if I answer the phone...no one answers.  What are they really accomplishing???

Answered the number and said Hello twice with no response so I hung up, I could hear people talking in the backround.

This number 716-450-5878 is a cellphone and belongs Brian J. Plaatje.  The time frame of when you all received these prank and harassing calls was just before The New York State Department of Correctional Services snatched him.  His incarceration began on November 23, 2007.  He was caught breaking into a business in Chautauqua County New York. Mr. Plaatje served 266 days in a New York State Prison for the third-degree burglary conviction in Chautauqua County, according to the State Department of Correctional Services Web site. He was released on parole in August 2008.
 The Watertown Daily Times reported on Friday June 26, 2009 that "A Chautauqua County man may be headed back to state prison after pleading guilty Wednesday Jun 24, 2009 to third-degree burglary and third-degree grand larceny in Jefferson County Court.

 Brian J. Plaatje, 26, Kennedy, admitted that he was an accomplice on two different intrusions: Feb. 12, 2007, at the Wayside Inn, Route 3, Ellisburg, and March 1, 2007, at Fuccillo Ford, Route 11, Adams.

 Darren M. Denny, his 24-year-old codefendant, was sentenced to five years' probation after pleading guilty to third-degree burglary.

 The two allegedly did $13,000 in damage and stole more than $400 in cash at Fuccillo.

 Mr. Brian J. Plaatje is expected to be returned to State Prison when sentenced on the new charges Aug. 17 2009."

I have received two calls (possibly 3rd but it went to machine with a hang up)  Caller was a male with heavy accent saying my number was chosen for free cell phone.  I told him I was on the Do not call list, he kept on, I told him I was going to report him he said go ahead, he wanted to know how old I was.  I said a few choice words, he called me a B**** I then screamed as loud as I could into phone.  5 minutes later he called back, I did not say hello when I answered but could tell it was same person because of static and noise.  I began speaking with an asian accent he asked if I could speak English, I kept it up then hung up.  i am in Northwest, today is 10/18 he called around 12:45 p.m

Yup, just got a call from that number a few min. ago. I called it back and got some horrifying fax tone then it went to the US Cell recording. This number has called me at least 4 times in the last week. Who are these people?? I think Telemarketers and creditors are getting slick. I noticed alot of them calling using CELL numbers now. THAT needs to be OUTLAWED!

Call from 716-450-8578.  No message but looked it up and find that it is used for possible shady business.

I got this number just a few in ago. At first no one was talking but I could hear a bunch of background noise. The He aske dto Speak to Johnathan. I said that was me. Then i got about 10 seconds of "uuuuhhhh , are you a mother f'ker?" I said "Sure I was!" Then he hung up.

I received two calls today from this number.  I'm not entirely sure when the first call came in, but the second one was at 5:57 p.m.  I didn't answer the phone and they didn't leave a message

Got a call on my cell, no one was there. I id not return the call.

Caller, in English, which was so badly mangled that it was almost impossible to determine what he was trying to say--except for his closing remark of ?Go f*** yourself?, appears to be attempting to sell something related to some sort of phone service.  A friend, who lives near me, received several similar calls from the same no., on the same evening (10-04-07).

I answered, and heard nothing, then could hear background noise when the computer connected me. The caller obviously was saying hello for the 2nd time.
I said, "I said hello 10 seconds ago, what do you want?"
His response, "Mother F****r"
I unpolitely told him to kiss my behind.

This number called every day this week at about 8:15am, lets the phone ring three times, but doesn't leave a message on the machine.

I won't answer the phone unless I know who's calling.

Missed call on home phone from this # 10/1/07 @ 12:35pm.  Called back - same msg as everone else - Cellular One, # disconnected.  Glad I found all this - I'll stop trippin'.  Thanks!

Got call this p.m. at 5:17, they left no msg on answer machine. Have recently received calls from same number. I am on Do Not Call list.

I missed the call, when I called back I got Cellular One, number no longer in service. I will be checking to make sure I am on the DNC list. It can't be a collection agency, so it must be a solicitor.
This comes after I got rooked into a subscription for Thumbplay re free ringtones. I cancelled right away. Nobody else has my cel #.

I got a call from this number today and when I answered noone was there I just hung up. Very annoying static on the line.

I'm in ATL - called 5:30pm. He said "your number has been selected for a free cell phone from Sprint". I said "I'm on the Do Not Call list". He immediately hung up. Almost unintelligible with considerable background noise. Definately a scam.

Person wouldn't talk at first and then sounded scared. Very bad english and the number was disconnected when I called back. I called back as soon as I hung up on them. They said it was Sprint long distance.

Call was on my caller ID.  Got same Cellular One message saying disconnected.  I question whether it really is Sprint.  I'd say more likely a scam.  Someone trying to get informations from you.

I've been receiving numerous calls (various times of day) from this number.  I haven't answered any of the calls, and no messages were left.  When I called the number from my work phone, I got the same message as what others reported: "this cellular one number is no longer in service."

Got call from this number this morning and spoke with an Indian with very bad English. Said I had been selected to receive a free cell phone from Sprint. Told him not interested and to take the number off their call list. He said I would not be receiving any more calls from them.

Answered call and guy said I was selected to get free sprint offer. Told him I was on no-call list and he said F*** You and hung up. Tried to call number back and Celluar One message saying disconnected.

Two calls on Saturday and Sunday at very rude times.  Didn't answer them because I figured they were telemarketers.

Sprint trying to give a away a "free" cell phone. "Ok?"  Quite annoying.

Saw this number on the caller ID yesterday, got called back today, no one responded, so I hung up.

I received a call from this number two days in a row. No message was left and it showed up as a celluar call.
