Debt Collector
Got a call from Anthony Davis of Davis Law firm, 716-543-9999,  saying that I owe an unsecured debt for $765.00. That needed to be paid back. I told him he was full of s*#t and it was a scam.  They had called before and I checked it out then. Told him never to call my work number again. Asked him who the money was owed to, he just kept saying the parent company. I said what company; he just kept saying the parent company they have over 300 affiliates like payday loans; credit cards; financial loads ect.

Told him never to call my work number again. He said it was to be a garnishment. Told him to send me paperwork in regards to it as I had not received anything. He then started to say transfer him to my employer repeatedly. Very verbally abusive. Told him it was against the law to harass someone and to harass them at their place of work under the Debt Collections Law.  Told him again never to call this number he said they would block the number and call me every minute.

As of 10/2/12 he initiated the call at 9:32 am had has called back 9:33; 9:37; 9:38;9:39 then changed the caller ID to Unavailable (restricted) he called @9:51 let it ring once hand hung up then calls again and lets it ring. From 9:32am to 9:54am he placed 15 calls to my work number.

This guy suckered me into paying him to clear up my debt. I have payed him a few payments toward my debt and I seen my credit go to a payed as requested status on certain accounts and not others. When I questioned him about the other accounts he got upset and started yelling. I then requested for him to send me something to prove he was legit as I had done twice before and he went ballistic. I told him he would not receive any more money from me until he provided he represented a real company. He then stated he can have some one call me and tell me he is real and I said no I needed a website address for his firm or something that proved what he was claiming but he wouldn't provide anything. Now this guy is calling my work place and home over and over harassing and threatening whoever answers the phone. Who do I talk to to get this guy to back off?

It's a scam, an extortion racket run from overseas.
They are a bunch of liars and fakes, just like this "debt".
They are looking for suckers to respond.  Ignore them.

If they are calling you, they are probably using VoIP.

You could check with the various VoIP carriers, Vitelity, Paetec, Level 3, Winstar, etc, and if it's one of their numbers, report it's use for fraud and extortion,  Maybe get it cut off.

I received a call from a Anthony Davis staying that I had debt in the amount of $10,000 all together. He gave me a case number and preceded top say that the government is cracking down on people who have debt because this is the reason we are having this economical crisis. He said I can pay $2,000 and it would done. Well this sounded strange top me because for the last two years I have been in bankruptcy and this is the first I'm hearing of this he also stated that bankruptcy chapter 13, or 7 couldn't help with this. So I phoned my attorney and was informed that this was a scam snuff that other clients have been calling him about the same thing. He called back and I let him no that I spoke with my attorney and war advised not to pay sand I asked him to send me all the paperwork about this situation, ooh I forgot to mention that he stated that I had already been investigated and he was gonna call my job and I was gone be fired. If I don't pay I can spend up to 8 months in prison and my social would have a black mark and I would never get credit for anything even after my bankruptcy.

Yep, got a call. He wouldn't give any information. He wanted $2,075 but would settle for $462 and told me I would be going to jail. And wanted information. I informed him he needed to send me documentation, and he kept talking over me. I finally said, do what you have to do and hung up!

Some clown with a heavy Indian accent repeatedly called my dad's house saying he owed money.

At the start of the call the man stated "Let me give you a number.".  My father asked the man what he was talking about, and the man replied that he owed money and it could be resolved for 400 dollars.  My dad then asked who he owed money to, the person on the other end wouldn't say who he was representing and then said my dad now owed 600 dollars and he could "take care of it at the courthouse".  My dad asked the person which county courthouse he should go to (he knew it was a scam at this point).  The man told my dad "Any courthouse, it doesn't matter."

My dad told him that isn't how the justice system and debt collection works and the man became enraged and said, "You have a bad attitude, and I'm going to report you to the police.  You're going to JAIL."

My dad then asked the man why he could hear small kids laughing and playing in the background.  The man said he was working in a office to which my dad retorted with a curt "BS".  The man then told my dad, "I'm holding my phone up high, now you can't hear any kids."

Then the oxygen thief was said my dad owed 4,000 dollars and repeated his threat that my dad would be arrested.

At this point my dad hung up.  Immediately after he began getting a string of phone calls from the NY area, all from the scammers and they never left messages.

At the start of the call the guy stated my dad's name and his address, but rest assured it is a scam.  My father contacted the FBI after the second phone call.

Do not believe these mopes, they do not represent any official entity.  The police will not arrive at your house if you do not meet their fake extortion attempts.  They are criminals. FBI has been notified.

This man called my parents threatening to have them put in jail if they didn't pay my supposed debt- which i know is illegal and they are not responsible for anything i owe as i'm 45 and they haven't signed on anything for me since 1988. I talked to an attorney and he said if this was legit i would already had paperwork sent to me and depositions acquired. What a crock!!!! I'm going to report this, too! He'll get caught and be the one going to jail!!

Anthony Davis called me yesterday 4/2/12 at least twelve times after I politely hung up on him because he would not give me information about the debt he said my mother owed his client at a cash advance place in San Jose. He sounds so authentic at the beginning, sucking you into his story and then he gets belligerent when he does not get his way trying to intimidate you into paying him for b***s*** stories he has concoted. BE STRONG Do not give this guy the time of day. Just hang up no matter how many times he calls which could be over 12- 20 times.

I got the same call about 2 months ago. I never took out a US cash advance loan and never would. The amount was an odd number too. The US cash advance website also has the info that these people are scammers. Sorry "Anthony Davis" you will be caught. I not only submitted a complaint to the FTC, but as well as the FBI, local police and the State Attorney. Do not  give them any money. If it's possible to get their number blocked, do so like I did because they called me 30 times in an hour before I finally called my phone company and told them what was going on. Again, do not believe anything they say. They also get on these message boards pretending to be other people saying they are good people and its legit. It's not!

Yeah, he sounds like a retard on the phone too. His number ends in 9999, he's probably in china (calling through a proxy). The FTC has an investigation going on him, which I have now contributed to. The last few reviews I've read about them have stated that there are others besides him, and all of them are complaining about loans or other issues. He is not a real attorney, and has not even completed an english class. This would be a mandatory course to have any sort of degree, let alone a law degree. You have not fooled us, and you won't be fooling people for long. I advise that if this person has contacted you, or anyone from the number (716) 543-9999, please call the Federal Trade Commission at (877) 382-4357 and file a complaint. They will tell you themselves that Mr. Davies is a complete nut, and a scam artist. Thank you for playing "Anthony," if that is even your real name.

"Attorney General Anthony Davis" of Davis Law Firm called me stating he had monitored a previous call between "Attorney Michael Black" and myself regarding his claim.  He is relentless, accusatory and I must admit, got the better of me and my temper this afternoon.

His grammar, use of the language and manner truly show that he is not who he claims to be.  "Mr. Davis" claims he is following up on a call from (360)975-3696 so beware of both numbers.

He asked me how many times I was going to hang up on him - I asked how many times he was going to call.  He told me "probably about 100".

When I requested that he not call this place of business he told me that he was an attorney and not an idiot (I would argue that point) and that he had the right to call a place of business.  He claimed that regular communication had been sent via mail and that I should check with my family as they must have thrown it away.  I am the ONLY person in my household and have never received anything (big surprise here?), told him so and he continued to tell me that I was wrong and was just trying not to pay.

I asked him if his conscience was clear with the lies he was telling as I was telling the truth and had a clean conscience.

I have reported this the the Attorney General of 3 states so far, as well as the FTC.

Being an Attorney its the fact that i would get many complaints like this from you people because the reason is you can't make the payment. So i would also like to say that rather spending your time on this its better to go and earn some money...  Please i would request everyone that you know about the current economy. please don't waste your time in this way. Just because of you people the person who thinks about his/her own future they fall in problem.  This my final reply i just want to help u people after all if you think that its  scam than you are your own decision maker
