Obviously you fool, you work for one of these filthy, lowlife places who have no education, career or anything meaningful going in their life. Typical dialog for someone who is uneducated with little to no decent income available...the laughs on you.

Got a strange voice message from a person who called himself Mark Tavares. From his message sounded as if he was trying to disguise his voice & that he is some sort of court process server because he said he is trying to give me, & i quote.... "legal paperwork which requires my signature & ID". Also, said "if i can't locate you again I'll drop this documentation off at your place of employment with your supervisor if necesary, the filing parties number is 888-302-5873."(end quote). This idiot was calling from a local Walmart's telelphone inside of the store because I checked the number the call came from. When i call the 888 no. it was the company IAG, i asked if someone had called & they transferred me to an outsource dept & I spoke w/ a woman name Susan who said her tel no. 888-303-4446 ext 232. I agree, this sounds like some two bit agency who are trying to use strong arm tactics to collect money.

June of 2011, a gentleman by the name of Mike Ford called me, explained everything.  I did NOT deny nor confirm his info about a "payday loan" I did take out.  I finally agreed to pay the debt back as I did take out this loan (not denying this fact, but had the loaning store front been open when they were closed repeatedly they would have gotten their money, in fact I called their corporate office with the oh attitude, asked if I could pay this over the phone etc., nope had to go to the store where the loan was made).  I originally agreed to $100.00 per month for 6 months and the 7th month approximately $70.00 (I asked for documentation to be sent to me of course I haven't gotten anything).  July of 2011 they took out the $100.00 which I found wasn't a "good" amount as I couldn't afford my medication, hmm medication or food, so I called "Mike" back and he agreed to taking $80.00 out starting in August of 2011, great right!? WRONG, come the August payment they still took out $100.00.  So I went to the bank to obtain a new debit card, received the new card, activated it, etc...  Today September 8th 2011 a blocked call came in as Privacy Manager (I have that on my phone), guy claims to be a courier and needed to deliver papers to me tomorrow, what time would be good, I said none because tomorrow I'm having surgery and won't be available for a few weeks, so he proceeded to state I'll have to send these papers back then, gave me the phone number of 888-280-6752 (which this "new" number isn't the one I had before) along with the reference number.  So I call, gave reference number, guy comes on and says you wrote US a bad check, I said no you took $20.00 more than what "Mike" and I agreed upon, plus my financial institution couldn't understand why you are making this appear as a point of purchase sale on my debit card when I'm not purchasing anything but paying back an old debt.  He got pissier and said I'll see you in court, told him have fun how can I be there when the papers will be returned to you because I won't be here for upto 6 weeks.  He hung up oopsy!

They are also using spoofed phone numbers.  That is why their calls look lik they are coming from payphones and the BBB.  They spoof phone numbers because they want to fool you into picking up the phone.  These scammers should be put out of business for good.

We've been getting similar calls as everyone else commenting here. This morning three from 716-558-7548 but get them every so often from other numbers also. One day from a number we traced to a freaking pay phone. That guy did leave a message as usually they don't. His name was Alex and he was going to come by with papers filed by "the plantiff" and I had better have identification when he showed up, then gave some sort of 855 number to call. What an idiot. Obviously never came. Just a bunch of a-holes out to try and scam whoever will freak out and pay them. Of course my guess is if you pay them one dime that will increase calls to you as now you just prooved to the scammer how gullable you are. Maybe have some fun with it? Write down the numbers they are using next to your phone, when they call answer as "Federal Office this call is being recorded for your safety, what is your emergency?" Or how about "I.R.S. audit division how may I help you?" See what happens next! Otherwise if you really want to "try" and get them in some hot water turn them into the "Do Not Call Registry" if you have your number on that list. Once you tell telemarketers (yes even scammers) you are on the list and not to call back they can get into serious trouble with majorly hefty fines of $50,000 per call! Go to: https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2
We pay our wonderful government a bunch to deal with shi_ like this so let them deal it out.

My mother Agatha Chandler has received 2 phone calls in the last couple of months stating that she owes money to national pay day loans since 2009.  As far as i can see she has paid everything she owed. They have threatened her and intimidated her with threats of sending the police to her door and taking her in handcuffs to the courthouse to answer charges thatshe has not paid.  She was so scared that she ended up paying money that i couldn't find that she owed.  I have since taken these calls and have been threatened with the same.  I have told them that my mom is not able or well enough to handle these calls and have told them that i will handle the matter and look into it if they will give me the name of the company and the person in charge.  Give me an account number.  Both of which they said they could not give me and proceeded to threaten me with being taken to the courthouse in hand cuffs by our local police to answer for her charges.  At that point i told them that what they were doing was against the law and harrassement.  I would have them sued.  They either hung up or told me if i wasn't willing to handle the matter without the information i asked for then i would be in big trouble.  I have been trying to get a hold of National Pay Day loans to handle this matter but can't get anyone to respond to my emailsl  Can you help.  i think one of the call may have been the 716 number, but the last ones were 888 nubers.  Can you help me get the number to talk to someone at National Pay day loans?  Thanks

its funny maxwell couldnt read all the posts and realize 90% of the posts on here are for the wrong number, but he doesnt care he wants to divulge his sick sociopathic ways on hard working americans to defend his fruadulent industry :)  Oh you want to talk about contracts btw? Funny how you 3rd party collectors will crank up interest on these barely bought debts (pennies)when you are not the full owner of the contract and try to get away with it :P Talk about contract fraud (criminal conversion 3rd degree felony). Hey you brought it up not me :D

Sounds like you debt industry shills will do just about anything to get people to ignore their rights. A handful of phone calls don't make a lawbreaker, I'll agree, nor does blind agreement to a given contract. Making threats of legal action, accusing people of "fraud", misrepresentation and deceptive practice, those are all things which scream "lawbreaking collector".

How a person becomes a debtor is a separate issue from how it is collected. You want to beat your chest about "morality", where is that to be found in extortionist tactics to collect what is likely non-existent? This number has been connected several times in this thread to International Asset Group, another tiresome Buffalo Bully in the business of fraud upon consumers. Yes, other names are heard too, to cloud the issue, but the violations of FDCPA and state laws (and possibly TCPA) remain the same.

Folks, get yourselves a mailing address for whichever firm is making these shrill calls and empty threats and warm up your lawsuits under the statutes cited. Get educated, not railroaded. Don't be snowed by kneejerkers who insist that all debt is voluntary and all collectors are doing God's work.

Sounds like you people will do just about anything to avoid paying your bills. Even googling the attorney the company represents and making ill comments about the technique they choose to make you acknowledge that you ARE indeed a debtor. Why not call them back and see how MUCH information they have on you. Family members, employers/coworkers, leins and judgements, credit history, current employer, cell phone numbers, current car registrations, professional licenses....just because they call you 3 times in a row and sometimes from a blocked number, doesn't necessarily mean they're fraudulent. If they're representing an attorney's office, that should make you realize that you're time dodging this bill has dried up and its time to make an educated decision. You can't not pay your bills because you don't like the "customer service" you now have to deal with. . .Why not READ the contract you signed you debtors! You're gonn go to civil claims if you don't pay back what we loaned you. LET'S THINK, LET'S TAKE A GANDER....u log onto a website that promises you a 600 dollar loan without checking your credit. Has a picture of a young family in front of a gorgeous house and a sack of money next to them. Oh sure just give us your ssn and your checking account and 24 hours later, KA CHING!

YOU MORONIC DEBTORS , READ THE CONTRACT BEFORE YOU SIGN FOR THE LOAN! maybe you won't be so surprised or terrified of the consequences when they call your punk a**!

Same thing happened to me with an attorney Steven DeRosa - told me to call back in 25 minutes or else - this is Ohio - I gave them fake information then called the place where I supposedly had the debt and was told they are investigating and this is a scam - was told not to give them any information or to call them back - she said they aren't out to sue anyone.

I have been getting about 5 calls a day from them. They keep threatening to serve me. I say "do it!" They threatened this about 2 months ago. This is not my debt. They are Derosia Law Firm. No collection company can threaten legal action unless they intend to do so. They also aren't allowed to call repeatedly. In violation of the FDCPA!
