Message left a toll free number to return the call 855-242-9670, but I did not return the call.  It was a very polite and professional sounding message, but the beginning of the message was not recorded properly, so the company name was not identifiable.  They indicated that they knew I was disputing a charge on a credit account, and they 'know how important it is' for me to get this issue resolved quickly.  I have already blocked a couple of different numbers from Northern Resource group who uses voice mails that sound just like this.  They state that I owe on payday loans that were never taken out.  So if they say it is about a bad check, it may be that they are trying to say it is from an online payday loan.  These guys are scammers, whomever they are.  My physical address is on record with the collection agencies, so anyone legitimately trying to contact me can and will do so via the postal service.  Nothing is legitimate unless it's in writing.

I did have some issues with credit accounts getting behind when I became unable to work due to post-polio and another congenital birth defect.  I struggled for 3 years to get my disability approved.  Once that got resolved all of the past debt was resolved.  These bottom feeders find information about past debt you've had and scramble a bunch of the facts, then come at you with this info in order to make you think there is still something out there that was not taken care of.  I know for a fact that I paid two bogus claims like this when I got rattled by their phone harassment...before I knew my legal rights in this matter.

Please know that they MUST give you written verification of the debt within 30 days of their contact.  Never pay anything to any company over the phone from cold calls like this sort of thing.  DO NOTHING without written verification.  I was truly astonished to learn how rampant this sort of phone/debt collection scamming is.

I was wondering if anyone received a call from this place threatening to take you to court over a bad check? Are they Law Enforcement?

I got the same thing for about a week. I answered once and they seem to operate like a debt collection agency, but claimed they are not. I was told today if i dont respond back they will send my "complaint" to the local court houses.

They claim to be from "Federal Check Processing Services"

and they are calling me over an account that was orginally created 5 years ago.

I haven't used checks in 3 years, don't even use the same bank. Called me about some hot check "class A" b***s*** saying all this scare tactic crap.

Received a call from this number on April 25, 2011 from a Todd Cummings, Director of Operations, of US Federal Check Processing.  Said he had to contact a person I know, left my name as a contact, that she had two violations of check fraud.  Left a number to call back, 888-875-5167, ext 308.  I called both numbers, the one he left and the one he called from, and it just rang.  I contacted the person he needed to speak with and she has never had any check problems.

How are these people getting our numbers and names and names of people we know?  I have had lots of different numbers from different areas of the US calling in recent weeks, never answer them.  They never leave a message except this Todd person.

How are people getting our email addresses and names, also our addresses?

I just got a call from them today. Scared me to death cause the woman in their message said I had an outstanding check with them from my credit union. She even stated the name of my credit union!

I went to check my bank balance and everything was fine. All my checks were accounted for, etc.

I was told in the message that unless I called her back, my refusal to call would be viewed as accepting the outstanding check and money owed to them.

Caller ID came up as 716-568-7617, but she gave me a different call back number: 888-875-5167 and extension.

She did not say in her message exactly where she was calling from, just her name and some business schpeel about check processing. After all the emotional chaos this created I don't even remember her name.

This person is extremely rude and does not have proper phone etiquette.

I got a call from someone by the name of Kevin.
I wouldn't provide you any information, and they will want to you provide them your information to verify.

He was basically trying to fight with me over the phone when I ask him not to call the number anymore.

I just got my phone number, and even the fact that He had the wrong number,  he said, he wasn't going by the name on the caller ID.

This guy is a foul, and please ignore any call coming from this number.  I had my previous conversation with him recorded with my request to not call the number anymore.  Now waiting for him to call again before filling a complain.

These people are harrassing me and when I ask them who or where they work for they will not answer
