Please see my reply to 'Bob' above. By the way, I located a good phone number for the actual debtor with a ten minute Google search. Once again: idiots! This company is calling on debts on which the statute of limitations has run out. They are adding usurious interest, fees and penalties that exceed the amount borrowed plus legitimate interest. They are hoping, and sometimes succeed, in getting people to pay huge amounts of money that they do not owe. They have lost lawsuits for using illegal procedures. If the employees who work for them continue to do so, they are the ones who will have to answer to the guy upstairs.

This company has called me for 10 years, asking for a person I am not related to and do not know, just because the last name and first initial match. For ten years they have said they would remove my number. For ten years they have been rude, calling me a liar, etc. The last time I called them back, told them I was not the person they wanted, and after I said, "well, I am not this person...."  the nasty woman I talked to said, "Oh, yeah, tell me all your problems, deadbeat." The only problem I had with them is that they would not update their records. These people are miserable, slimy people who cannot get real jobs. I know people who work collections for the IRS, & they would get fired if they ever acted like that, even though the debts they are trying to collect are bona fide and are a result of stealing from the citizens of the US. All I can assume is, they do give you a test to prove your are not an idiot before you can work for the government, while this company seems to enjoy having idiots work for them.

Isn't there a telephone filtering device, so I can tell my phone not to bother ringing when I get such calls.

I have absolutely no connection with this company and I have no unpaid debts but they will not stop calling.

I can report harassment to the FCC Commissioner and maybe to my Congressman but the only other defense I have is to call them over and over again.  I use my "redial" function and dial them over and over until I get tired of it.  Maybe I'll be enough of a nuisance to THEM that they'll decide to stop.

This company is total bogus. They call me asking for someone who doesn't even live at my residence. Then, when I tell them to not call me anymore, they refuse to comply, even though this is against the law after you tell them not to call you anymore.

I am not the one who incurred these debts, therefore I should not be expected to pay them. What, you think just because the previous owner of my phone number (whom I have never met) racked up dept, somehow it's now MY job to pay them off? That's not how it works, buddy.

Considering they're calling for someone who isn't me, I don't see how I need to pay a bill that I never incurred.

I have no idea who these people are or what they are calling about but I would appreciate it if they stop calling me.  I do not return numbers I don't know and they never say what they're calling about.

I call back and now they think im a "jean harris." so then, the nice lady asks me if i know jean harris, and wants all her information. which i believe is illegal. but whatevs i have no idea who that is.

try your best, I'll sue your Company.. guess why! Have you ever heard of Identity Theft.. mail applications is what that gets it happening in the first place. maybe your COMPANY needs to start checking for people identity very VERY carefully first.. before letting a stranger or someone opening an account under someone else name.. Oh and one more thing, check their signature, because I got a copy of the form that said my husband opened the credit card, 1) it's not his handwriting, 2) he was oversea when the credit card was being open in the USA, && 3) IT'S NOT EVEN HIS SIGNATURE or HIS NAME.. there we go.. I can sue the bank if I want now, because they didn't check that.. so if I were you, I keep my mouth ZIP, because you know nothing, but a wanna be tough person since you're working in a big company. DON'T CRY, I'm just telling the truth.

I don't know, but I've been getting these phone calls for them lately too. Why do they talk to me, and ask me things. It's not my debt, it's my husband. We weren't even married when this happened to him, we got married then they start calling. Will actually it's not even my husbands debt, he don't know who did it, he was OVERSEA. Now I'm trying to get his orders form proving it's not him.. But seriously, they need to give some times for us to get it, military are busy protecting their Country and keeping everyone safe.. They don't have time to just stop and grab the forms and take care of their business. Their country is now first on the line.. wtf, I'm trying my best to get the forms to you guys, stop calling and reminding me everyday. I'm just the wife, I'm not the person on the debt paper.

I think, BANKs, needs to start meeting those people who opens the credit cards. Stop accepting Credit Cards Applications through Mails or Onlines. Meet the person, see proof of Identity and Social Security Card.. this is how my husband got bad debt, somebody opened 2-4 credit cards (Applications in the Mails) under his name 2-3 months after he lifted oversea. I think it a family member in his side of the family. why, because they never gave him his SSC, they have a copy of his military ID, they know all his military INFO too.. I didn't want to get involved with this, but they did, by saying it's affecting me (the wife) since I married him, it part of me too. WTH. So I guess I'm getting bad debts, it's not even me, I opened my first credit card, I use all the money, and I pay the full amount $300 every month back.
Since they call me so much, I'm going to try to get my husband orders fax to them, and they better find out who did this to my husband.

How about when they are not even looking for you?  When they are looking for someone you've NEVER heard of and you've had your number for over two decades?  THEN they keep calling you a LIAR.  Woe be to them.  My pleasure to introduce the two, as well.

What a jerk YOU are, 'Supercollector'.  I got a dozen phone calls from this agency to my number, which I've had for OVER 20 years, and, I've NEVER heard of the person they are 'looking for', because they do a half assed job of 'looking for' and just dial away as a bonehead 'skip tracer'.  They couldn't skiptrace if their lives depended on it.  If so, they'd not be dialing private law enforcement numbers looking for people who don't exist and using 'scare' tactics and 'pushy voices' when they call them.  A big KUDOS to the LOSERS at Niagara Credit ... SCORE 1 FOR THE OTHER TEAM.  I love it when you all are such idiots that you give me enough to have the FCC formally investigate the abuse!

You are NOT responsible for ANY debts that are more than SEVEN [ 7 ] years old or older. They are trying to collect on an old debt that was sold to their company by the original company that you owed the money to. That company sold the debt because they knew that they could no longer collect on it.... and that was a way for them to get a little bit of money. The new owner of the " debt information " will harass the hell out of you to try to squeeze as much money of the original debt from you, so they can make their money back. Laugh at them and tell them to go to hell.

Wow supercollector you must have a brain the size of a peanut.  Wait that's being too generous.  I get calls from these people, yet I have never been in debt.  So apparently just because they call and try to harass me I'm a theif?  Wow way to really think this one through. And supercollector, a collections agent isn't a real job.  It's a sad pathetic excuse for a job that someone who has not otherwise discernable skills has to do.

Or maybe you could use your brain and realize that in some cases they are harassing the wrong person.  But nope using your brain would be asking too much now wouldn't it?  I'm getting these calls and i live nowhere, read that, NOWHERE, near Buffalo.

A man called and gruffily asked for a Denise. Told him there was no one here by that name. The man snapped at me when asking again for Denise (last name) or a Tony (last name). I repeated that Denise (last name) did not work here. He slammed down the phone. Did not say who he was or who he was with. I looked up the number here on this site, got the 888 number and called them back to report the non professional manner of their employees and asked to be removed from the listing.

Don't people realise that when accosted by an someone, a person will go into instant defense mode and everything escalates from there. What ever happened to politeness and courtesy in this world? It is truly a shame.

If you are going to call someone .. you better leave me a voicemail. I refuse to call anyone back who does not have the courtesy to leave a message or tell me what the call is in reference to. I see this 716 # every once in a while.. which I know is not meant for me in the first place. It is my husband who owes money from a debt he had from his previous marriage. So quit calling the wives because I will not pay or help my husband pay for any debt he had prior to meeting me. If he did not pay you.. take it up with him. If not, then you are just harrassing me and I've told you once to stop calling my phone.
