if they leave a message, they say they are looking for "Stephen," which is not my name.

they also claim to be a collections agency for capital one....told them i have NO money and theere is nothing i can do right now the guy tried to threaten me and i told him to stop calling...of course they still call everyday!  how do they get peoples cell number though???

This is really odd.... 716-636-1588... When I did a reverse phone number search it simply said it was a New York number... I'm in Wyoming and don't know anyone in New York or that would have an alleged collection agency after them... I wonder if its even his real phone number? And it makes you wonder exactly what his game is. If hes pretending to be with a bank, could be a scam to get your money info... Same with collections - Claim your over due for one thing or another and get your info so you can make a payment perhaps? The names of the people hes "looking" for might be random attempts to get a name/guess your name at your residence. But anyhowdy, it may just be some sort of desperately stupid guy calling random numbers.

Called me at work regarding an ex-husband who is incarcerated. Knew much about his personal business and questioned me extensively. I knew little about his personal, financial status. Kept trying to question me even after I stated I knew nothing.

called my number asked for "Stephanie" I told the lady that she has called here before, asking for the same person and I told her before it was not the right phone number, she proceeds to be rude and argue that she has never called my house before, I told her some one from the same phone number did and she said "well it wasn't me!" I told her to remove my number and she said "It's not my fault no one made a note on the account!" and as we hung I up I said "B_ _ _h" and she called back two more times to inquire about me calling her a "B_ _ _ h" and tried to defend and explain herself and I told her she no business calling me back after I told her wrong# and we ended up screaming at each other for seven and a half minutes, I called her several more profanities and she continued to argue and then finally gave up and hung up!She would not give me name of company or her name!

Someone just called from this number 716-636-1588 befor I could answer the call it stopped and I immediately called back it kept ringing and no voice mail or answering machine to leave a message. I guess is one of those guys.

They are Nco finachal aka joe blo he was rude and he swore and cursed at my parents u dont call a 63 yr old women that is mentally ill and curse her out and then she called me crying they are a**holes

This is a rude, RUDE, RUDE, young woman calling me from this telephone number trying to "verify employment" for a person.  That name they gave me was not a name I recognized, they would not tell me what company there were with and would not give me their name either.  When I didn't give them the info they wanted, they kept asking for the human resources department. I told them I OWN THIS BUSINESS and they needed to tell me who they were and what company they were with before I'd discuss anything with them and they hung up on me.  Not a professional outfit - had to be a bill collector.

person called office cell phone, asked to verify employment of a person, advised that that person doesnt work here, asked for hr, told caller I could help him, again, asked for the person that never worked here, wanted to give me a SSN of 'employee' again told him person never worked here, asked me how do I know if I wont take the SSN down, advised we are a small office of 2-3 persons, that I would know. humg up on me.very rude.

They call me this morning mentioning saying that I owe a lot of money to somebody, but i did not understand what the person was talking about.

Called the phone and let it ring 50 times. Called back after I said there was nobody by that name. I work nights. It is really iritating.

They represent Bank of america, Chase, Citi or AMEX accounts.

They called my number about 8am this morning and would not say anything other than, "hi". I attempted to call back, but did not get an answer. The number rings but no one answers.

I work at a switchboard for a company in WA State.  Three other switchboard operators and I have been receiving 10+ calls a day from this number.  The guy who calls keeps asking for one of our employees, and says it's in regards to the employee's spouse.  This guy is extremely rude, and will start asking for a supervisor if the employee doesn't answer their phone.  Isn't there something called the Fair Debt Collection Act?  I'm pretty sure they are required to identify themselves and the reason they are calling, otherwise the company can get fined.  At first the number came up as blocked, but when the called zeroed back to the switchboard it showed the whole 716 number.

Continually calling and asking for a woman. This person has never lived here and I have owned this phone number for 10 years. They seem to think I am lying. Isn't there a way to stop these calls??

Same here, they keep calling asking for my sister on my cell phone. How did they receive my cell number is beyond me. I told them they have the wrong number, but they are constantly calling. Any advice as to handle the next call or to stop the calling all together?

I dont know why they are calling me...please tell me how to stop getting calls from them b/c they keep calling me on holidays and during dinner times with my family and they are very rude.

This is a collection agency name NCO Financial. Someone finally said the name of the company of my voice mail. Even though I've told them that who they are looking for is not at this number.

This is I hope the last time I receive a call from this rotton bunch. They left a call back number with an extension. The person that called acted like they were some kind of legal authority!

I was finally mad enough to call the number they left and told whoever answered that no one by the name they left lived here and I'm sick of their calls an to take my number off their list. He said they would so time will tell....The call back number was 888-899-5883

Called looking for my ex-brother in law.  Has been ex for, what, 5-6 years?  I have not seen him in 7-8 years.  Said it was regarding an "important legal matter" and he should call them back at 888-211-4248.  Did not identify company but left a Case number.

They keep calling me too.  They are NCO Financial and they are harrassing as they will not disclose their company name, but I looked it up.  They are operating against all rules of the Fair Credit Collections Act.  Today they threatened me and said this is a "Federal Matter"...so I told them to send something certified saying so.  He got nasty and I hung up on him.

Ms.Scot from the office, keeps calling my families place of business.... Calls my house at 9 am and makes threats to my mother... Who does she think she is?

They keep calling the company I used to work at, and keeping looking for me. They didn't know my number, but they knew exactly what type of phone that I used. They called an old business associate and asked for my iphone number, and ordered them to search and find me. They also called my sister, told her that since she wasn't fluent in english, to give them my number. How would they know all this information?
