Who are these people that have nothing better to do than call and hang up on me? It was my bad not to check caller ID before I answered. I am on the do not call list

There was actually a person who spoke English on the line who, as soon as I answered, apologized for dialing a wrong number. Of cours, everyone knows he didn't dial the number, because an automatic dialer dialed it. So was he checking his "phone list" for live answerers?

Man with very nice voice apologized for dialing the wrong number. I stayed on the line and then heard the same thing again- may have been a recording. Will report back if I continue to get these calls.

When called, a pleasant sounding older man says, "Sorry, I dialed the wrong number." and hangs up. Not the first time he has called. Voicemail is an automated voice message, "Sorry, no one is available to answer your call, leave a message"-type recording.

I called back and he answered. It's some sales group, maybe "Life Sales" possibly, he said it quickly, and his name is Ed Sealy. I asked him to remove me from his list, he said he would and apologized. I also logged a complaint with my wireless carrier for future reference.
