Got a call today from 1-888-813-4333 saying that I owed them money from 2001.  They scared the crap out of me with this bull about the "pending court case"  I called my father a REAL DEBT COLLECTOR has been for years, Told me to demand the original contract and current bill or no money.  Will call the Erie County NY DA in the morning and look for a court case against me.  Also Said home county of Harris TX sent the case to them?
Harris county almost arrested me over 1/4 of the money these people want.

Message on machine:  "This is (Name mumbled, female voice) We have your name and social security number and would like you to contact us regarding your settlement from the case you filed.  We would like to resolve this matter as quickly as possible.  Please call me back at 888-813-4333, x 109 and a 6 digit reference number."

The call was to my sisters number, the only debt I owe (statute of limitations) would be from 1993 to a chain store that went bankrupt, it never went to court and was about $200.

Glenn Ingersoll isn't an attorney, much less "the most powerful attorney in Western NY".  That actually made me giggle a little.

I just found out from a friend of mine who is an attorney that this number belongs to a law office based in williamsville, ny. Hope that helps! :)

P.S.   I guess they have served summons' on quite a few people in georgia and california.

A Glenn Ingersoll called on a " masked " phone number this afternoon of 8/28/2008 stating I owed money on a debt paid in full about a year ago. He further stated that I was in contempt of court twice for failure to appear to settle this. I told him that is impossible because #1 I was never served and #2 I possess papers showing the debt paid in full last year. He then went on to state he worked for the "Federal court" and that if I didn't send him payment within 1 hour via Western Union or provide him with my personal checking information immediately, he couldn't " hold off the Deputies any longer ". At this point I still didn't know his full name and the " masked " phone number. I smelled a rat but told him I needed his name and number so I could go shortly and take of it. He then provided me with the info I needed to check him out. We then had another phone conversation but this time I had ammunition. This wimp then tried to intimidate me and it got ugly. He told me he was "THE MOST POWERFUL LAWYER IN WESTERN NEW YORK". I told him to screw himself. He then got VERY IRATE and told me he was going to see that I was fired, and he would own my home and my cars. All this over a measly $ 450.00 that I don't owe. I knew this was a scam because of the reference to Federal court. Federal court doesn't deal with non-Federal concerns. If this were criminal, which it wasn't, it would be in state court as a misdemeanor not even a felony. This at most would be in civil court but that is not even valid because the debt is paid. DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED BY THESE LOSERS. These so-called debts that you supposedly owe are almost certainly out of the statute of limitations. I will give you a couple of web sites to check out these weasels on shortly. Oh, by the way, Mr Ingersoll is not only not " THE MOST POWERFUL LAWYER IN WESTERN NEW YORK " I don't believe he is a lawyer at all. He is a second teir debt collector at the bottom of the food chain. What a punk. See the below:
