These people called me after already discussing my account with a completely different collection agency. The prior agency provided me a letter via fax showing they are collecting on the debt and set up an arrangement to pay my balance of $380 at the end of the month. Two days later, this Alexander and Stefano contacted me claiming they own the account. They claimed I owe $700 for the same account and refused to provide any paperwork. When I advised them that I already set arrangements, the rep started screaming at me. She made threats that I was going to be thrown in jail if I don't pay it. I called the previous agency and verified that they are a scam company and advised me to contact a consumer attorney, which I did. Hopefully, I will receive compensation for Alexander and Stefano's illegal tactics.

Do not pay them a thing unless they MAIL (not email or fax) a debt validation letter showing original creditor, amount owed, date of loan, date of last payment and whether they are licensed to collect said debt in your state.  Tell them that per FDCPA, they MUST mail you this documentation proving you owe this debt to them.

If they refuse to do so, you do not owe anything.  Any legitimate debt collector would have no problem sending this documentation to you if they have it, so a refusal to send this means they do NOT have proof that this is your debt.

If they call and harass you, report the calls to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.  Advise the callers that you are recording all calls they make to you on the advice of your attorney (even if you don't have one) in order to sue them for multiple violations of the FDCPA.  You can also send them a cease and desist letter to only contact you via mail (there are many templates for this on the Internet - Google "cease and desist letter").  Send this letter certified mail, return receipt/signature requested.  This way, they are on notice that any more calls after receiving the letter, you can and will sue them.

I just received a voice mail from Alexander and Stefano the number they left was 877-576-3792. They used my correct name and prononuced my last name correctly. I am not a happy camper. Is there anything I can do to stop them? This is my first call from them but I am sure not my last.

I get a call from these people about once every week. I just ignore it but it seems other people are harrassed a lot more so I did some looking.

I checked my voicemail at work after lunch and had a VM from a very fuzzy connection.  They stated I or my legal team needed to call back immediately or it would result in my being sued.  I have zero debt so I have no idea what this is about but they need to lay off my work number.

They call 3-4 times a day asking for my grandson, who lives in another state and has not lived in this one for 13 years.  I answered the call today and they wanted his phone number, I told them I would not give it to them and they asked that I give him a message to call them before the end of business today.  They have left messages in the past saying something about his 1099C income tax return.  I answered during their automated message and then it said to press "1" to talk to a representative.  I talked to a lady, and asked her how she got "this" number and she said she didn't know.  Just told me to give him a message that it was imperative that he call before the end of the day.  When I questioned her what this was about, she said, "A client in our office is pursuing him."  Am giving this site information to my grandson.  He certainly won't mess with them, and they may be sorry they called him.

I received a call from these jokers also. They told me I had taken out a payday load and failed to repay it, and if I don't pay today the would have me arrested.
After getting off the phone with them I contacted a local attorney who deals with FDCPA lawsuits (30% commission). He told me he would not sue this company, as they have had MANY judgements against them for FDCPA violations (at $1000 per violation), and they refuse to pay the judgement.
What a laugh, a debt collector that won't pay it's debits. Ignore the fools, don't even call them back. Scammers pure and simple.

I got a phone call today regarding a pay day loan back in 2007 I got laid off from my job and was unable to repay. "Sandra" Tod me they were suing me and will take further action through the IRS I'm serious about getting my refund back at the end of the year so I told here ill send a money order she told me NO it has to be a visa or pre-paid card. I told her am I being punked, she laughed? She called from a 530 area code but when I called back to get their address a man answered saying he was in NY I asked how did you answer from the 530 area code I didn't call your 800#? Wtf

Received a call from them today, telling me to call them regarding a complaint against me and my social security number, they also called yesterday, didnt return their call.

A stranger calls you saying you owe money and you pay it?! Good Lord, why did you give them your bank info?

These peopl have been calling me EVERY DAY for a month about an old payday loan. my fiance finally told me to pay the $250 for a settlement. I did that today. he goes to the ATM to find out that they took $500!!!!!! now they are closed. I am calling first thing Monday before the holiday! I am so upset!!!!!!!

This company called my girlfriend today and said that they needed to get in touch with me ASAP regarding fraud allegations. When I contacted Alan Raymond back to figure out what this was about he claimed that they have been trying to serve me for over a year and have been unsuccessful. I supposedly owed 2,000 but they would settle for 808 ( the original balance?) and they would get rid of court & attorney fees. I requested validation of the debt. He stated that I have Til the 16th to pay the balance in full or her will report to the attorneys refusal to pay. While I was on hold, my cell phone cut out and Alan left a voice mail stating that he would have the attorneys report to the court, failure to comply and supplying false information to avoid future actions and "you messed up big time". I called him back (because like I said my cell cut out). Gave him perm to speak with my gf. She called the first time he hung up, second time sent her to voice mail, third time after she stated the call was being recorded, who & why she was calling. Alan hung up. She called back again and he forwarded her to voice mail. I tried again and he sent me to voicemail. It's obvious something shady is going on with this company.

I do not know who thse ppl are they called and left message, do not know what to do please help anyone.

I received a call from Alexander & Stefano from 716-402-5939....they actually left a message on an answering machine that did not identify me specifically...saying they they need to speak with me or my attorney IMMEDIATELY regarding a file that was placed with them for pre-legal litigation....I was livid...they never left the mini miranda (this is a call from a debt collector and this is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose) which is mandatory...I called them back and spoke to a representative who said i owed m&t bank $58 from 11 years ago!!!! I myself did collections for
federal studant loands and I know all the laws....there is a grey area that you can go into but you are never supposed to break the law....these people broke the law and then some....I contacted Kenneth Hiller and they will be getting back to me tomorrow....Ironically I currently have an account with m&t and this issue NEVER came up when i opened the account....had it then , Id've paid the $58....My mother told me there was a very serious message from an atty and I rushed home, almost caused an accident and my blood
pressure sky rocketed....this "agency" is going to pay......I know there are scum bag losers who dont pay their bills and those people are at the bottom of the trash pile in my opinion, but the collectors that break the laws and harrass people are right there with them. I am sick and tired of all these idiots calling and sayin I owe them money and I HAVE TO PAY THEM NOW OR I WILL BE ARRESTED. I my friend say come get me!!!!!! I have a attorney and they will not return his call nor his Paraleagilst. I hope the bogus firm is caught and procecused to the fullest extent of the law!!

They called  and told me they had a Judgement against me. I won't even mentioned the guys name because I am sure it is bogus.
Began telling me about other options available to me to pay off a debt that I am not aware of.

I checked with the County Court to veriify and no judgement against me.  Also checked with local magistrate and again no judgement recorded.
I think this is fraud and with all the different phone numbers they list across state lines the feds I am sure would be interested.

Hi, I would not suggest ignoring them!  They will continue to SCAM others and they need to be stopped.  I would recommend filing a complaint with the FTC.  They will not proceed from individual claims, but will research after receiving a numerous amount of complaints filed against this "company."  The more complaints to the FTC, the higher the chances these people will be stopped and perhaps prosecuted for their crimes.

i use to work here.... it is not an attr office....u will NOT face a "garnishment" or be brought to county court over a old payday loan lol.... most files they have are past the statute of limitations.... u will not be issued a 1090c tax form... they buy old debt n scare u in2 paying it... firm of alexander and steffano lol axually v&r recovery

I know what you mean. Same toll free number the guy gave me but the caller id had them as 386-478-7301 in New Smyrna Beach, FL. They called about a case pending in Oregon. I'm not in either of those two states!

We just got several calls from them..they've even gone so far as to call my family.  The number they used was 1-877-350-5323.  After looking them up and finding this information, we know it's bogus.  We've gotten nothing in writing from them--just these threatening calls!  The number they called from was area code 903....completely different.

I have received several phone from 205 210 4143 with the same stupid messages over and over and I know someone got hold of my information somehow and that this is a SCAM. Just ignore them and they eventually go away. If you get no registerd mail sent to your home form these people, there is no legal action.

I received a call today from Alexander & Steffano.  It came from 205-210-4143.  I tried to call back and got an automated response saying that all the reps were busy and to call back later! Again, as in indicated in previous posts, they threatened legal actions if I do not call back.  Beware of these frauds!

They have recently changed their number to 201-984-7049. Do your research about whatever they are claiming you owe especially when they are claiming that the IRS will get involved next!

messagge stating that I  had made a loan and scammed company...never in my life have i applied for a loan or anything else.people had my address and email address.

Received a call in June at a house we were renovating to move into we of course did not receive the message until last week because of the renovation timeframe.  The message was from 716-748-6908 and the message was to call 877-833-2775 x 3078 immediately regarding case no: 5117 if not the information would be filed without further contact - what information I do not know who or what the situation is all about?  I have no idea who the company represent but gathered it was not a company I should try contacting unless I spoke with the attorney general office first.  Thanks to all who has shared their comments.
