i paid them 300 dollars! and they are expecting another 2 hundred. what should i do. i do owe the money and i want to pay the debt but i just want to make sure that i am gonna be credited that i paid it

I received a phone message on my home phone from ARG stating that there was a formal complaint filed against me and I needed to contact them (me being the respondant)before further action was taken against me.  Hearing this, I was extremely upset but my fiance told me that it was probably just a collection agency.  I have been working on building up my credit this past year and view my credit reports on a regular basis so I know that this call was bogus.  Someone should stop these people from leaving horrible messages on someones phone making them believe that there is something very serious going to happen to them.

Got a call from these people at an old telephone number i used to have that  belongs to my mother. They keep harrassing her telling her that I was involved in some car accident a couple of months ago and they need a statement from me. I havent been in an car accident in over 10 years! Dont trust these people, they sound like some type of scam company.

I received a call from ARG at this number stating that a lawsuit had been filed.  They told me the original creditor, and lo and behold it had been a debt that 1) was beyond the statute of limitations and 2) had been deemed to be fraudulent by the original creditor (I had my info stolen 5 years ago and had an ex boyfriend who liked to open accounts in my name).  

I got their mailing address, am sending them a cease and desist letter, and am sending a complaint to my attorney general.

This number called me for the first time today. How they got this number is beyond me, it's not in my name but they asked for me specifically. They said they were from the U.S. Fidelis Mgt. Group, a Nicole (somebody or other). I already warned family and friends, so now I am getting the cease and desist letters ready. They can't get blood from a stone as the saying goes and I have absolutely nothing and never will. The lawyers I went to two years ago for bankruptcy called me judgment proof and wouldn't even take my case. Now I just have to keep them from harassing. And go back to doing what I always do. Wait for the end.

i recently start receiving calls and i was frighten,about the aggressive nature of the calls. But, i have enough common sense, and i have learned from varies forms of media.  DONT GIVE ANYONE, ANY MONEY OR BANK INFORMATION WITHOUT INVESTIGATING FIRST.  Thank God for the internet because this website real help to ease my nerves. Im going to try and deal with the owe company directly. My advice to anyone is research company first, find out what your rights are.  Also, i always thought that once the debt goes on your credit, there is nothing that anyone can do, especially not incarcerating someone for unpaid fees, if that was the case, half of America would be in jail

IM SORRY BUT YOUR WRONG... MOST OF THESE COLLECTION AGENCIES HERE ARE BAD. I HAVE HAD THE PRIVILEGE TO WORK FOR 2 COLLECTION AGENCIES HERE IN THE BUFFALO ARE AND BOTH HAVE NEVER HAD AN ATTORNEY GENERAL COMPLAINT AND BOTH HOLD EACH EMPLOYEE TO A HIGHER STANDARD. I have been getting calls from 716-775-4407 for over a year but its not even me they are asking for they ask for a different person and for over a year I have been telling them that this person does not live with me nor do I even know this person!!!. For over a year! they call at least 20 times a day! Today a woman actually threatened me when I kept telling her that the person she is calling for can not be found at my number!! Who do these people think they are?! I am glad I found this information because I do plan on going after these people now. These people have tormented my family an I enough, we have had calls at like 11pm! I have had enough!!

Have been getting calls from this number 716-775-4407 for over 2 years.They have even resorted to calling family members stating that we could be in deep trouble if we do not contact their office immediately. We had our number shut off for months but as soon as we hooked up service again the calls started again.
Since we found what appears to be an office address in Buffalo, NY it is very tempting to show up there with a couple of very burly friends and settle their unwanted and unwarranted tactics once and for all!! Since this would be against the law we have not done so YET!!

Folks, please don't answer any calls from these people! They're phishing for suckers that will send them money. They probably trained with one of the best, CMC collections among others. seems as if NY, Buffalo in particular, is a hotbed of these scammers.

My daughter recieved a call from these people also claiming that she owes a debt and that she would get sued go to jail all that good stuff they use to scare people. She asked me to call as she was scared and has no bank account and they wanted someone with an account so they can set up a transaction. I called spoke with a gentleman very nice,but I was not confortable with the call after putting me on hold I placed him on hold and looked them up and this is what I found (this web site)I was so close to giving them my account number do not do it. its a scam! Make sure you call a friend or relative that knows about these things, before you give out your credit card number or bank information.

ARG is a unprofessional collections agency that uses scare tactics to try and get people to react quickly.  The do not follow FCC or FTC guidelines as to rules pertaining to collections.
The initial call will be made to you that will indicate that there is a court date set in your local municipality regarding this debt but of course there is not court date.  They will give you a case number that doesnt match anything in your municipality.  DONT PANIC!  Advise the caller that you have been made aware and that you do not want any further calls!
If you do not do this they will call your employer, friends family etc...

They are the BOTTOM FEEDERS of this industry.  You have heard the stories??

They break rules, you have every right to file complaints with the FTC, FCC and the Attorney General office in NY.  They are located in Buffalo NY and their mailbox is a PO BOx.  DONT GIVE THEM A CENT!  Dont be affraid!  Just say the right things!

is a SCAM and Fraud. ignore and report.

ARG is collection agency that attempts to break all of the FTC rules regarding collections.  How to handle: 1)Let them know that you have been advised of the alledged debt.  2) Advise them not to call you, your employer or anyone else regarding this alledged debt.  Contact the Federal Trade Commission and file a complaint.  3) Advize ARG to send you a letter with thier address and phone number.  
They can not call you if you tell them not to!
They are bottom feeders!  Unprofessional con artist!  Dont let them do this to you.  They dont have a web site because they dont want you to know anything about them.  Fight Back!

After some searching I found these guys address. They call on out of statute of limitation debt that they cannot sue on. By threatening to sue you, they are breaking federal law. I'm getting calls from them too, claiming that someone has filed a civil complaint against me, and failure to contact the office will result in court action.. This sounds like bullying to me, and not legitimate at all. There is nothing on the web about them - that link in the previous post is unrelated I believe.
I haven't done anything deserving of a civil complaint, and no one has threatened me. This sounds very fishy.

these people keep calling me saying they are a investigative company hired by collection agency. wanting me to give them my account info to handle some debt that i have with someone. but the debt was resolved and hasnt been on my credit for ten years. If anyone has info on these people please write me back.
