These folks are crooks.  Probably from India.  They set up a machine somewhere in the US then call you via that machine.  That is how they get a 716 area code.  Since they are outside the US, you are wasting your time notifying police, attorney general, FCC, etc.  Often, they call neighbors hoping you will send money to get them to stop.  If you do, you go on a "sucker" list and will get calls from all their fellow scammers.  It is clear they are not legit since no one can be jailed for debt in the US.  If ever they call you again, HANG UP at once.  We realize that many older people were taught this was rude but the people who call are criminals.  Be as rude as you can to criminals.

When they said I owed money I said by who and how come this is the first i'm hearing about it. I said if I owe then you need to send me somethig in the mail seeing how the only thing I owe are student loans. Then She said she didn't have to send me anything. I hung up at that point because I realized it was a scam or possibly collecting on something from my X fiance. She called me back NO JOKE... 12 times!!!! Then when I called the number back to find out the name of the company to file a complaint with the BBB they would answer and hang up. Took me calling NO KIDDING.. 7 times before someone said the name of the company.

I reported to BBB.

They are now listing their phone number as "PC Solutions", perhaps so people will assume its a call regarding personal computers?

This company preys on people with bad credit histories, and then attack their victims by claiming to be attempting to collect on debts they've made up. The rationale here is that if you are already in trouble with creditors, you won't notice one more debt being collected on. I've had one of these companies try to hit me for a cable bill...for a company I have never used, nor even lived in an area this company services.

I went into debt while fighting for my SSI benefits, but being poor, disabled and unable to pay my bills does not make me stupid. I know what bills I legitimately owe, and I will not be fooled into paying scam debts. Also, a little note for anyone on SSI getting these calls: No one can "garnish" Supplemental Security Insurance (SSI) payments EXCEPT for the US Government, and they can only do so for SSI overpayments. Do NOT let these fools tell you otherwise. I do not know the law on Social Security Disability though. The joker who was on the other line...never caught his name...tried to intimidate me and say they were going to have my SSI "garnished" after they go to "County" court. Um...for those states that have a "County" court system, they handle mostly felony criminal cases, NOT debt collection...which is civil. Also, a "Bank Fraud" case would usually be handled by law enforcement, not a collections agency. These people are simply trying to scare unwitting victims into agreeing to pay. Sadly, once you agree, or attempt to make payment arrangements, you've just validated the bill, fake or not.

So...

NEVER admit that you recognize the debt. Make them send you proof of the ORIGINAL debt in writing, from the ORIGINAL debtor, not just the collection agency's bill.
NEVER agree to any sort of repayment arrangement until/unless you have determined that the debt is valid.
DON'T let them frustrate you or make you angry. This is in fact on of their goals...to get you off-balance so you will agree to whatever they want.
DO know your rights.
DO report this company.

The caller id said 713 936 2342 today and a couple of days ago it was 210 853-2374, but the message requested that I call back 716 821-0327 for an important matter, same message many of the others had, but it was for someone I don't know (probably previous person that had my number).  There was an option to press 1, but I didn't as I guessed it was a scam.  I would like to get them to stop calling me.

'Received the same call..same wording that I am a person of interest and they (whoever they are) will be making decisions without me unless I call the 716-821-0327 number. Sounded mysterious and somewhat intimidating. This number will be reported to the FTC, as well as any further similar calls. The FTC will look into this number and the way the business and calls are being conducted, and the more reports they get from different individuals, the better the chances of identifying the people and businesses behind these calls as quickly as possible. No one deserves to be harassed and intimidated by phone, either at their workplaces or in the privacy of their own home. Even if money is owed, the company needs to attempt to collect from the consumer through ethical and professional means, including responding to a consumer's inquiry to be mailed a letter verifying the debt with a letterhead providing the company's legitimate address.

What they are doing is completely against the law, read the fair debt collectiosn act, its very interesting. they WANT you to just pay them and not your know rights. they are counting on " just pay them" . thats why the continue to  harrass us. you can actaully take them to small claimscourt for each call. $1000 EACH left message, harrasing call. If you can figure out who they are. :(

Just got a call from these people on my work phone!

The worst thing is, they spoofed MY number to make it look like I was calling...myself.
It's illegal, so I'm assuming this is some scam. They said I was a "person of interest" in "a matter" and to press one to talk to someone, or call back this #.

I received a call from 716-821-0327, they left me a message that I have been identified as a person of interested in a fraud case and that action will be taken against me without my knowledge if I fail to return their call today. This number is a legitimate debt collection agency that was hired to collect on a pay day loan taken out that you failed to pay back.  They represent companies like Check N Go and other pay day loan places.  Sorry folks but it is more than likely you do owe a payday loan place and that you failed to pay back the money you borrowed.  They are an aggressive collection agency that will continue to call not only your home but the home of any references you used to get the loan.  They also do what is called skip tracing that allows them to obtain any and all information about you; this includes prior address, phone numbers, confirm social security number, relatives (brothers, sisters, parents etc.), any property you own, driver?s license information, vehicles, other creditor such as credit card companies and other pay day loan companies you may have borrowed from to try and track you down.  You are better off just paying them back or making some type of payment arrangement than continuing to ignore them hoping they go away.  This company will try to embarrass you by contacting anyone they can associate or connect to you including your friends and family so be prepared because they will leave the same type of message on anyone?s phone number that is associated with you.  Good Luck getting out of this one.

By now, everyone should have figured out that the FTC
DO NOT CALL LIST [so-called] IS JUST A BIG JOKE.
However, everyone should keep filing their complaints,
and to keep their own respective log regarding same.
Here is an example of my own personal log-book, which
is very easily and simply kept by using "TEXT:"

I keep a separate TEXT FILE named for each and every
number I receive these damned calls from, and then to
just add to it, most recent call at the top.

Nothing is going to happen on this, unless "EVERYONE"
continually bombards the FBI, your CONGRESSMAN,
your LOCAL TV NEWS, any and all NEWSPAPERS, etc.
I have been doing this myself, but will not continue to
be the only one doing it.  Strongly suspect that at least
the FBI has now "black-balled" my email name.  Either
that, or they simply responnd as "NOT READ," just as my
Congresswoman; Kay Granger of Texas has also done.
Here is her email address: kay@kaygranger.com
[please find yours as well?]

Below will be a list of all of the FBI Field Offices email
addressess, as well as USDHS, that I have found to be
vaild, in such a manner that should make it easy for one
to simply "COPY" and "PASTE" them into your email.
You might want to reference: Title 47 U.S. Code ~223

I keep getting calls from a different number (210-338-8763), asking me to return their call to this number.
These people have called me every other day for years, asking for a guy with a similar first name and same last name. I've told them before that it's not me and I don't know this person, and they say they'll take me off their list ... then keep calling back. I don't answer the phone anymore unless I know who's calling.

It's either a bill collector or a scam, and the fact that others have said they demand immediate payment over the phone or get arrested leads me to believe it's a scam.
