i received a call yesterday from this same number   did not answer and the guy saids his name is John Carter.  He left his direct number and a case number.  If i don't call him back he will go out for some kind of recovery.  He left a name that is not mine and i have no idea who the h***** is that person.

The guy, Nicholas Romanov called and left a threatening voicemail on my phone saying he was from an attorney's office. I called him back thinking it was from my credit card that I still owe from and he never even gave me a chance to talk before he asked for a large settlement and my credit card number. Like a fool, I handed over the info. I then called the credit card company (Kay Jewelers) and got the name and information of the company they sold my account to. The second I called this company, the "this is an attempt to collect a debt. Any information obtained will be used for that purpose only......" I never once heard Romanov mention any part of that. That's when I knew it was a scam and immediately cancelled my debit card. When I called him back to let him know, he quickly hung up on me and is still calling me this morning looking for payment. Called my cell phone. Left a message something about documentation sent under my name and social security number to them and for me or my legal representative to call back. Not sure if this is legit or a scam. I can't understand if she's giving me a name or a company name.

This is some type of collection agency or someone looking to get information...they told me that the person they were looking for used me as a reference.  Total crock of s#$@!

I received a call from this number and telling me that " He is doing an imbestigation with my  Social Security Number and you are not cooperating"... He did not indicate the numbers of my SS..............

I received three phone calls from family members today stating that "Lisa Hall" from ARS 716-829-1858 was looking to get a hold of me to "deliver legal documents".  I called the number back and Lisa informed me that she was with ARS, an attorney referral company, and that she has legal documents for me regarding a court date from an outstanding credit card debt from 2006. I asked her is she was a collection agency and she said no. I had no idea what she was talking about and requested that she email me the documentation (which she obliged) and she stated that she would love to be able to get this resolved today. It has been 2 hours and I have yet to get the email from her. She was very polite but not sure if this is some kind of scam as I do not recall ever having a credit card from HSBC in 2006. Does anyone know if in fact this company/ call is legit and something I should look in to? I also asked Lisa to not call my family regarding this. Is it legal for them to do that?????

Caller said he was with NCI and he was looking for Hugh Wong. He was serious. I tried not laugh.

I Got this same message yesterday they didn't ask for me by name only left a (800)# never once did they say what "business" they were from. (716-829-1817)

got a call from this number with the following voice mail message:

"This is JoAnna Goldberg I'm calling to notify you that of an order that has come into my office this morning. Call me as soon as possible. The order# is 00890. You can reach me at 866.552.8679. I have your personal business information attached. Thank you."

Called the number and I gat a recording saying I have reached their general mail box and to leave a message. Never idetifies who they are

Called, left message for my wife. Listened to it, and once I heard the toll free number, knew it was a scam. In this case, they obtained a "dead" debt from over a decade ago, and are trying to collect on it. This is a common scam.

I am glad to hear it's not just me. I have been getting harrassing phone calls from these people claiming to be attorney's and also claiming I have a court date scheduled. ALL of this is harrassing and not true. They have even stooped to calling my family (all over the country). I believe this is about an overdraft on a checking account from years ago that was the bank's error. It's rediculous to fight these people. Tell your family to NOT accept these calls or hang up. Have begun receiving threatening messages from this phone number about "account" and "statement is required but my presence is not". The callback number they leave is 1866-803-6960. This is definitely a bill collector for a payday loan, as I have recently defaulted on one after having paid several hundred dollars over my original loan.

If you are being called by these people, please know that payday loans are illegal in many states. I am not advocating discontinuing payment to them. You borrowed the money and should pay back what you owe. But the exorbitant interest charged and continuous payments get many people in trouble. Look up the laws for your state, there are many resources available to you. If this loan is illegal in your state, there is nothing they can do to recover any more money from you because the contract is illegal and you are governed by the laws of your state.

This is from a debt collector.. who claims they are from a legal board and if you do not call right away they are going to go ahead and start legal proceedings against you... they have called my job and left messages on other peoples voice mails for me...... they call my cell hang up call my job....... they have threaten that they are my county prosecuting attorney and that  my bank has filed charges on me that i can call them back or they will serve me a warrant on my job........  I am in good standing with my bank this was a payday loan that kept taking money out even after they were paid in full.... so i closed my account and opened a new by recommendations of a lawyer and my bank........ they have several different numbers and several different scare tactics....

Many calls over the last month - I picked up once by mistake and got a guy with a lot of background noise who said "how you doin this evening" then hung up.

Called me in the middle of the night saying lewd things.  Just got another one and they left a 2min recording of Rihanna's song "We found love" on my VM...

They call me more now and its annoying since its out of canada call so I don't want to be charged for that call

Received a call from this number this morning but didn't leave a message.  Looks like a telemarketer of some sort.  DON'T CALL!

Personally, I like how it works out.  If i'm getting called from someone I know, one of these sites won't pop up saying a ton of people are getting called from them when they don't know who it is!  All the more reason to let it go through to voicemail

just got a call less than 15 minutes ago

all i got was a recording the recording stated if you would like yo be removed from our list record your state your name and number and you will be removed from our list in 24-72hrs

Do you really think by posting "PLEASE STOP" here, they will stop? Duh.

caller id reads 'Knox V'.  no message left.  Area code 716 is Buffalo NY area.

Does anyone have any idea who this is?  They call 2-3 times a day..

Got this call today.  Hang up as soon as I pick up the phone.  Must be the same people who uses VoIP to make fake Caller ID record, such as: 313-887-1314
